  1. Expanding foam ok its great for a lot of uses by an experienced user. Maybe find your car here, http://etka.cc/skoda/lang/e if you can find that panel it will show clips or how trim is fastened. Or google image "search c pillar skoda octavia" (think its a c pillar) super glue ?
  2. Got a sunblind on the rear door window only, helps with sun and helps stop dazzle from headlights at night. purchased from hortons (theskodashop.co.uk) other places are available. very easy fit and looks very great.
  3. If Donald wants to build a wall, then i suggest he does not employ a French company. The french are charging the uk £1.9m to build 2 walls, not more than a mile in total length and there will be extra ££ charges as the construction goes on.Estimated final cost of £2.5m is more likely. Bonjourno.
  4. Saw a bmw with a fake M badge badly stuck on and had turned upside down = w W****** kind of appropriate due to inconsiderate road manners. :|
  5. Car value at insurance renewal time,to be honest i use to guess the value and often just reduce the value around £1k. Now with lots of car valuations sites (free) on the internet, get 3 valuations print them out and keep, work out the average and use that figure at insurance renewal time, shocked to say in the past i have over valued my cars so paid more insurance. Dont let the rooks win.
  6. Not advertising but this is a very low mileage 2014 yeti. https://www.cargiant.co.uk/car/skoda/yeti/YE64LFW
  7. If it comes with a boot recess for a full sized road wheel then i am interested.in a couple of years :sun:
  8. I am thinking of getting a roof wrap and was thinking about temporary removal of them rails and headlining,as aerofurb has confirmed removal is from outside only. http://etka.cc/skoda/part_single/catalog/sk/markt/CZ/modell/YET/year/2015/drive_standart/779/hg_ug/853/subcategory/853030/part_id/2545308/lang/e Not sure about permanent removal of the rails, maybe someone has done this but warranty issues come to mind.
  9. Price looks rather steep but the car looks finished with the flaps fitted.
  10. the middle screw on rears are to small,so something like this example would do....http://www.halfords.com/workshop-tools/garage-equipment/fuses-electricals-fixings/halfords-cross-head-screws-flanged-no10x19mm-black-hfx262
  11. Think taxi type work could be considered as arduous so 10000 to be on the safe side. Dont worry about the expense at you can recover the costs through paying less income tax The inland revenue kindly paid for all my superb costs, everything absolutely everything  it was the only way i could have afforded to drive a v6 petrol doing 30k per year.
  12. thanks, very interesting topic. will give it a go sometime.
  13. never been a victim of columbus theft but when i was travelling and staying in hotels, leaving car in long term airport car parks ets, then i would remove the columbus myself just to reduce the theft risk. keep the superb until it starts to cost you big money  great car.
  14. One of the reasons i traded in my superb was the increasing theft of columbus, other reason i just did not need such a big car anymore. Although i do miss the luxury but i dont miss the frequent refuels.
  15. i know skoda are into cycling but please will the lycra clad person (could be a man, woman or a stig) who insisted on holding onto my roof bar to gain a tow,say thank you. upper brook st,london,w1 1400 today.
  16. The 2 speed warnings can be an extra help to avoid points. 1-usual speed warning on maxidot i have set to 30mph 2-winter tyre warning i have set to 70mph when these speeds are accidently exceeded a bong is heard and maxidot says"set speed to fast/winter tyres speed to fast" message can be over ridden with a press of the steering wheel right rotary switch.otherwise slow down to the set speed and the warning message goes away. Not that i drive at high speed, well not know as based in uk  and have a yeti.
  17. does your car have the "start/stop system" ? the 2L 150 , I have been told works differently from previous diesels that came from vw group expert, not going there for servicing. have noticed my idle is higher than expected, will check it out tomorrow.
  18. Great easy guide, thanks. Is it possible to install a speed camera data base into the sat nav, maybe the second sd card slot for music could be used to load a speed camera data base. Thanks,
  19. Anyone want this wheel,it was my spare and i dont need it any more.comes with a dunlop tyre but its fairly worn, say approx 2-3 mm from wear indicators have not got anyway to accurately measure it. Wheel has no rim damage just 2 of the spokes have some surface damage. Collect Eastbourne. Please dont reply here, send a message. xxx Update. Now gone to a good home. xxx
  20. Well if you cant get access to a gp in a reasonable time, cant afford private, dont have a local walk in nhs unit well then where to go. A&E ?
  21. As what mannyo said, its old news. Maybe University of Birmingham researchers have just removed bmw or ford and pasted vw into their research results,so lazy. maybe they could do research into something more important.
  22. Dont know of any web site that does real time ferry depart/arrive info.or load information. But during times of road delays, port problems and the like, the ferry operator i use (p&o) out of dover will accept the original booking although your late but only if there are severe problems getting to the port. During the latest dover problems, they operated the get here and we will put you on the next available crossing system, they also changed their timetable for more frequent crossings with less freight vehicles and more cars. Otherwise buy a flexible tick if you think you might miss your booked ferry departure, its peace of mind.Useful if you have a puncture or the runs on journey to port. The ferry firms use twitter very well during times of delays with frequent updates and the above info is usually mentioned by them on twitter so you have information if your stuck in a long traffic jam.Someone in the queue will always have a mobile that works. current p&o twitter feed. https://twitter.com/POferriesupdate?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor Other ferry route i use where there are just 1 or 2 crossings a day, well then i get to the port area a day early and stay in a travelodge or similar again peace of mind. The dover routes are now very busy so on the day tickets are not always available. I use p&o as they have more frequent sailings out of dover and if problems happen they sort them out as soon as possible, there are other operators. Good luck.
  23. Get the car back and have a second opinion at your trusted tyre dealer. I was told i had buckled wheels before, was not true enough to warrant new wheels.as there was no vibration or any other defects at any speed. good luck
  24. In Hunts world there is no such word for closure,he calls it merger.
