  1. Rabmurry121 you should ask Griffin to stump up the Money as you have been misled they will of known about the superb Fog light issues and as you quite rightly Say have been sold a car that is illegal for Continental Europe Lots of people are in the Same Boat as you Join the fight it's Not like These Sales people are doing a great deal of work for our custom just filling in paperwork fax it there email it here easiest Job going and they make a Fortune off us Bfg'ers.

I agree with Matty70's comment above. These guys are making enough money on car sales, we seem to be getting done over for stuff like this on a regular basis.

  2. Just an update phoned the dealer in Schloss Neuhaus today and they are more than happy to sort out the fog lights to pass BFG. The only thing is that they don't know what each car will need until you arrive at the dealership with the car, the option given to me were, hot wire into the loom, fit a different cable, or via the VCDS laptop software and the prices diff depending on which option. The option given were for a new Superb however I believe that the Octavia and Superb suffer from the same problem.

Sounds like a right bugger about. They told me that they had absolutely no idea when I went down there last week. If the guy in Bielefeld can do it via the VCDS system then I see no reason to start buggering about with wiring looms. Superb and Octavia can't really be that much different can they?? :wonder:

  3. The swap is done via dealer laptop. My post on page 1 of this thread gives the info. Had mine done by the dealer in Isslehorst (halfway between Gutersloh and Bielefield) approx 6 weeks ago.

Cheers Black_Sheep, i might have to take a trip to Isselhorst then as my dealer here in Schloss Neuhaus just looked at me funny when I told him that! Might go back in and get them to ring the dealer you used and see if they can't sort it out. Getting a bit peeved now with being fobbed off by everybody about such a trivial thing that Skoda should really be all over it.

  4. Newbie, when the work was done, did they use the computer or cut the wiring loom and rewire the other fog light? Matty70, it would be hugely appreciated if you could post back on here when the work is complete so that everyone one else who has this drama can finally put this stupid issue to rest. Many thanks in advance :@

  5. Got until middle of Jan so am in no rush to start cutting yet. There have been a few comments about it being done already from one owner in Fallingbsotel, but he has not replied to me yet  . Hopefully someone will find it and let us know. It's not like i am trying to change anything drastic on the car

  6. I have just got back from my local Skoda dealer in Paderborn and they have no idea how to switch the fog lights over. Does any one remember the code needed for the computer to work its magic??

Would have thought the boffins at Skoda would have thought baout it when they decided to offer the tourist setting for the headlights :wall:

  7. Had my vRS (dirty) Diesel estate for a whole week now and the only problem I have found so far is that everyone wants to sit in it and look at it becuase it is awesome to look at. It drives like a dream and really is not that bad with fuel consumption (just driven from the UK to Germany on 1 tank - 550 miles)

Really glad I went for the vRS and Skoda, they have done a great job

Oh and it goes like **** off a shovel
