  1. I eventually bought a secondhand diff through PartsGateway for just under £400 including delivery. It was then fitted by my local garage. The only real risk with this is the cost of fitting as if the diff turns out to be faulty, it will be exchanged/refunded but that doesn't cover the fitting cost.
  2. Hi The rear differential on my 2014 Octavia 2.0 SE estate needs replacing due to excessive bearing noise which is rapidly getting worse. My local friendly garage has confirmed this by running the car on a car lift with a stethoscope on the differential. However, they have not yet sourced a replacement differential (or anyone who can refurnish mine). A new diff is not a viable option at over £4k and I am reluctant to get a used one. Has anyone had theirs refurbished by a transmission specialist and if so by whom? Thanks Richard
