  1. I wasn't aware I had photobucket! 😆 These are the pictures, hopefully this works:
  2. Found it! Here is what I did. Although hopefully your replacement works. Word of advice, swap the bulbs for LEDs. Apparently the heat from the standard bulbs contributes to the corrosion. Not sure if it's true but it doesn't hurt to swap!
  3. I had this problem with my 2014 Octavia. As above, the rocker switch in the overhead panel corrodes. The problem is they all do it, so a replacement part from a breaker is likely to be the same, although you could be lucky. My fix in the end was to solder a jumper cable onto my existing failed switch. I'll have to do some digging to see if I can find the details but it worked and is still working!
  4. Sorry if this has been answered on here already. I have looked and can't find what I need to know. 2014 Octavia RS with MIB1 infotainment - fairly sure it's the most basic system, with no sat nav, the smallest screen and just one SD slot on the glovebox unit. I want to add an amplifier so I can run a subwoofer. Is there a way of getting a line out / pre-out from this unit? Or is my only option to use the speaker outputs? I found THIS connector on ebay which appears to provide RCA outputs from the quadlock connector, I'm just not sure if this is right for my infotainment system.
  5. Sorry - I can't see an edit button... What I said here isn't quite right. So the lights work with the doors as they should, which is the main thing. The lights work in the 'on' position too, which is great. The 'off' position doesn't work though, so if the doors are open, the lights can't be turned off. They do still time out though after a few minutes, so it's no big deal.
  6. I just thought I'd add my experience with this problem. As others have described, the interior lights started to become intermittent, and eventually failing altogether in the 'door open' position. They always worked in the 'on' position. I noticed that pressing the switch lightly would make them come on with the door open. Which is no use in the dark when you can't see the switch! And sure enough, the switch was corroded and/or burnt, and was never going to make a good circuit. So, inspired by L9ppy's post: I found myself a short length of wire, and soldered to the pins as described, and as these photos. Works perfectly now! And it still works in the off and on positions too, contrary to what L9ppy says. Maybe I've used a different pin?
  7. I'm here because I just folded my rear seat for the first time in my new (to me) 2014 Octavia, and found these two pieces floating around. Googled the part number and was glad to find this thread! Thanks peoples.
