  1. I forgot to update… …mine went in for a service last week, the dealer further investigated my issues and has now determined it needs a controller unit replacement. So I’m now awaiting that part as it’s on back order…
  2. I had my steering wheel replaced back in Jan - which ‘seemed’ to fix the Travel Assist unavailable error (although I do still get this error once or twice per month). What has never been fixed is the crazy flipping between metric and imperial units whilst the TA is engaged - ie the system perceiving a sign in KPH and setting the ACC to the MPH equivalent. This can be so dangerous - on one dual carriageway near me, the speed changes from 70 to 50, this results in the ACC setting the speed to 31 MPH. So the car throws the anchors at 70 MPH. This system also erratically believes that I’m in right hand drive mode and therefore believes I’m undertaken on motorways - again throwing the anchors on. It can only be a matter of time before it causes an accident…
  3. Here's my Kodiaq with Travel Assist engaged travelling along a dual carriage. The carriage ways starts at 70 MPH but then you'll see me pass through into 50 MPH - at this point the car reads the sign as 50 KPH and changes the car's target speed to ~31 MPH (50 KPH). Very dangerous, as it anchors on the brakes. Skoda Kodiaq Travel Assist Error Also a picture of my wife driving through a 30 MPH with the car's intended speed set to 80! I've a few of these pics. Also I get droning noise when braking hard from motorway speed. I wonder if my discs could be warped? Anyone got a view on that? Cheers Pete
  4. This car has been out for 4+ years - right? Surely the technology should be pretty mature and they should have the bugs ironed out? Or is this travel assist system relative new?
  5. No disappears after a few minutes. What is more frustrating is the systems’ incorrect reading of signs (sometimes in metric) and I’ve had a few times the car anchor on at 80 mph (on the motorway) when it thinks the limit has dropped to 40. I think it believes I’m driving on a parallel road. All that said it makes motorway driving so much easier - I love it (and so does my son!). I did a 500 mile round trip to Kent yesterday (funeral) and it’s so much less tiring...
  6. That's exactly what mine does - I would say I get that fault twice a week... My replacement steering wheel is in and due to be replaced end of Jan. I doubt the steering wheel is the issue, anyway I'll get it replaced and see what happens...
  7. Yea I guess that through-out time, as new technology has become available, there have been teething problems - I suspect that when the first motor cars were marketed at the turn of the last century, there were complaints of reliability versus existing technology (ie horse drawn carriages). IMO innovation and change is what drives us as human beings and with that comes risk and reward. In my view there are always problems / issues / faults in life - it’s how we (or in this case Škoda) respond to them. I think in @Billywizzo’s case their response is very poor. In my case, it’s fine - just an inconvenience that I can live with until repaired. I hope to see more innovation in the future - it will certainly drive me to make future purchases.
  8. Not 100% sure but I would guess so... I think the new style steering wheel has different sensors for picking up when your hands are the wheel - obs this is an important part of the travel assist system. I'll let you know when they finally get the part in...
  9. Have they given you a courtesy car? I would be really p***ed having waited several months for delivery and then the cars in for another 5 weeks! What spec did you buy?
  10. Yep sounds familiar- mine’s intermittent too...
  11. Update: I’ve finally spoken with the service department at the dealership, it looks like the technician’s identified the steering wheel as faulty. They’ve got the part on back order with no ETA - I guess it’s because they’re ‘new’ steering wheels? Anyway service guy had no idea about the ACC picking up MPH signs as KPH - he agreed it’s dangerous. They’re going to take a look at it when the part arrives...
  12. I’ve done a hundred miles in the car and the Travel Assist has, in the main, been working. The only strange behaviour is that when it detects a new speed limit it sometimes believes that it’s read a metric speed limit (KMH) - it converts it to imperial and wrongly sets the speed. For example it detects 40 and sets the car’s speed to 25 - it has anchored on a couple of times, especially when dropping from 60 down to 40 (25)! I’ve checked the units in the settings and they’re all set to imperial... Having said all that it’s a bloody impressive car, the tech is unbelievable!
  13. Yea very similar for me - dealership delayed delivery but eventually released the car with the issue. Did your garage specify what the exact issue is?
