  1. Skoda only added Remote Park Assist from week 44 builds onward, yet the price remains the same. Basically, if your car rolled off the line at 11:59 PM on Sunday of week 43, no fancy parking tech for you. But if it was built at 12:01 AM on Monday of week 44, congratulations, you get Remote Park Assist. Same car, same trim, same price, different spec, just because of timing. It looks like Skoda rolled out a production update starting in week 44, likely involving new hardware and a software tweak. So while the cars look identical on the outside, there’s a real spec difference under the surface, all based on which side of midnight your build landed on. This probably also explains the steering wheel design change and the VIN ending in "S" — subtle signs of that production shift. Personally, I don’t see much use for Remote Park Assist myself, other than for squeezing into a sardine-sized space or a narrow garage, and having converted my garage, that’s a non-issue. But still, the L&K is supposed to be Skoda’s flagship, marketed as a premium alternative with matrix LEDs, digital cockpit, massage seats, premium sound, and more. So missing a standout feature like this for customers who could benefit, even by just a week, feels like a misstep, especially when the price didn’t change and it’s still part of the same Gen 4 launch wave.
  2. UPDATE!!! As per previous post I purchased the L&K 4x4 tdi 4x4 back in September. Remote Trained Parking – Only for Later Superb Builds (Despite What It Sounds Like) Just a heads-up for anyone with a new Superb who’s been following Škoda’s media releases since the launch of the Superb . The wording in their promo material suggests that Remote Trained Parking will become available “at a later date” via the MyŠkoda app — so I naturally assumed this meant it was just an upcoming app/software update. Intelligent Park Assist makes parking safer and easier With the new optional Intelligent Park Assist, the Superb can park automatically in perpendicular and parallel parking spaces. This function now controls the steering, brakes, accelerator, and direction of travel (forward and reverse). The vehicle also stops on its own if the system recognises an obstacle. At a later date, it will be possible to perform parking manoeuvres remotely, using the Remote Park Assist function via the MyŠkoda app. The optional Remote Trained Parking will enable drivers to initiate a previously performed and saved parking manoeuvre from outside the vehicle, using the MyŠkoda app on their smartphone within a range of four metres. The maximum speed of the manoeuvre is 6 mph (9.5 km/h). The new Superb also features enhanced Trailer Assist as an option. My car already has Trained Parking built in — it works from inside the car, as expected. But when I saw someone post here saying they had Remote Trained Parking working, I reached out to: My dealer, who told me it wasn’t available yet. Škoda customer service, multiple times, who couldn’t confirm or deny anything. And finally Škoda’s executive office, who confirmed that this feature is only available on later builds So basically, if you already have Trained Parking, don’t assume you’ll get Remote Trained Parking via app update. Škoda hasn’t been clear about this, and the media wording is definitely misleading. If you’re buying a new model soon and want this feature, make sure the dealership confirms it’s enabled.
  3. Picked up the 190 TDI 4x4 back in September. Was advised this would be a future feature but as yet nothing in the new Version 8.0.0 app. It is a little disappointing if this is not a feature that can be applied considering the trained parking is already a feature.
  4. Apologies everyone, I thought I had replied a few weeks back to say thanks for all the input. In the end it made sense to stick with what I have. Cheers
  5. In terms of use it's a mixed bag. The new car is sitting there ready to go. As for their needs to shift it, I could not say.
  6. Hi, I currently own a 68 plate Superb Sportline estate 220 bhp 2.0 petrol, which I bought new. This is my third in 10 yrs and I have to say I have loved them all. I swore blind to the Mrs this would be my last car for some time. Its been great the last year not having a car payment leave my bank every month and its kept the goodlady happy. Yesterday my dealer calls and leaves a voicemail guaranteeing me the deal of a lifetime, and if interested to call back. Stupidly I did. So I popped in on the way home from work and he points me in the direction of a new L&K 2.0 tdi. I'm intrigued. Now come the figures and I was pretty blown away. For my car he is offering £18200 in trade in and an additional £1000 cash back to cover the cost of the additional tax for a further 3yrs beyond its first year. With all the crazy discounts the L&k which itself has been reduced to £32,509, and am thinking this is a pretty sweet deal at just over 14k to jump into a new car. Just wondering if anyone else has been offered similar deals and they are attempting to shift stock in preparation for the new model or if this is simply one of those genuine situations of right time and place. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. If it is a great deal then I'll go down the route of asking the wife's forgiveness rather than permission and go sign the papers tomorrow. Cheers
