  1. Thanks for reviving the link, Tony. The power of the forum never ceases to impress.
  2. That must be the same method as Skoda's - there was brief reference to soapy water in the old post, but this explains it perfectly. Many thanks, Urrell.
  3. Can anyone supply the Skoda fitting instructions for the transparent stone chip foils that go over the rear door / wing areas of the Yeti. There are previous references to these instructions in the Guides section (from The Great Yeti) but the link for his PDF no longer works. Thanks
  4. I know this because I've seen how VAG xenon headlights are put together. Have you any information showing damage to xenon headlights when using the adjustment screws without VCDS? Clean kill. Zip up the body bag!
  5. Brijo Posted 05 November 2016 - 16:11 Does sound more like specification mismatch than 'niggle'. I wonder if Pliny's needs have changed since choosing a SM :wonder: Fred, I'm impressed by your uncanny ability to diagnose my poor judgement with such conviction. Perhaps you could use this gift to offer me some reassurance as to whether I have chosen the right wife, if i tell you that she doesn't always agree with me and will not go on the back of my motorbike.. And Brijo, I don't think my needs have changed too much. i still like a comfortable bed, decent food, but not too much, the odd glass of beer or wine, good company and a little occasional excitement. As regards SM, I do not recall ever choosing sadomasochism. On the contrary, i have always steered well clear of it. But leaving amateur psychology aside, the niggles I listed were simply those i would hope would be addressed in the next generation Yeti - which i might well purchase. Naturally i would consult you both first.
  6. 1 ) gruff engine (140 diesel 4x4) 2) lack of adjustable damper settings 3) would like slightly greater boot capacity That's it.
  7. Picture captions confirm you are driving the best car for the decrepit: Platz eins mit 78 von 100 Punkten: Skoda Yeti. Nahe beim Yeti liegt der Goldene Schnitt fu¨r Alte: Der Skoda ist kompakt, übersichtlich, bequem und gu¨nstig – ein durch und durch ausgereifter Alleskönner Time to buy new cardigan, slippers and pipe by way of celebration.
  8. As there is no Skoda dealer anywhere near where I live, I booked into Faintree when I was on holiday in Shropshire to get a warranty issue with my 6 month old Yeti fixed. They gave me a loan car, diagnosed the problem on day 1, ordered the part, and had it fixed the next day for my collection. They also replaced a rusty (after 6 months) screw in the fuel filler opening and got me some touch up paint. Problem was with Bolero radio / display: steering wheel controls not working, radio did not switch on / off automatically when key inserted / removed, radio would go off intermittently, reversing display screen not showing and other similar display issues. Solution: gateway replaced. All in all, excellent and friendly service. I shall be getting it serviced at Faintree on my next trip.
