  1. Hi, I recently purchased a 2022 Mk IV Octavia SE L 1.5 TSI and noticed that the navigation system colours are not distict to me - a person that is colour blind. Is there an App or setting that I can change the colours so I can differentiate between the road and the route? BTW night mode is also pretty poor for me too. Using Apple Maps is also the same, unclear to differentiate between the road and route colours. Before you ask, traffic lights are 'Top for STOP', 'Low for Go' and 'Middle for Diddle' - pot luck... LoL. Strangley, I had no problem with Navigation road / route colours on my 2013 Octavia Mk II Laurent and Klement, which also provided car Current Speed, and Altiutde information - which is not available(?) on the Mk IV.
  2. I replaced the heater Blower Resistor pack in my 13 plate Liftback Rapid - without knowingly interfering with any of the passenger airbag. The resistor pack works great but the airbag light comes 'ON' for a few seconds when the ignition comes 'ON', goes 'OFF' momentarily and then comes 'ON' again and stays 'ON'. Any suggestions on how to reset the airbag / fix the issue.?
  3. My 2013 Rapid 1.6TDI Greentech CR SE has covered 42,500 miles and the Engine Management light has come on. Previously had a wring fault at wiring over grearbox casing, fixed and discounted as the current issue. Garage checked for faults (twice) and could not find anything, the warning light goes off, but soon comes back on again. Performance appears to be unaffected - strong pulling torque etc. and a recent 500+ mile journey at the weekend returned 67.7mpg on outward leg (3 adults and luggage) and 76.4mpg on return leg (2 adults and luggage), so ecconomy does not seem to be affected much. No bad exhaust smoke or misfires and runs smoothe. Where can I obtain OBD2 test cycle plan for my Rapid to carry out full diagnostic test cycle?
  4. Everything has been going well with my Rapid Haychback for the last 3.5 years - until last weekend.... when the exhaust management warning light came 'ON' for a while, then went 'OFF' for a while and then came back 'ON' - permanently. After a few miles the DPF warning light started glowing orange, so I gave the old girl a good thrashing up the road for about 40 miles to clear out any soot build up - but the 2 warning lights have stayed 'ON', no flashing or changing red, no lack of power, Stop/Start still working OK, no bad smells, in fact it seemed to be driving slightly smoother than usual since being purchased new in Dec 2013. So my thoughts are... 'one of the exhaust (pressure or temperature) sensors has failed?', and put the car into the garage for them to check fault codes to identify the fault / faulty component. Called the garage 45 mins ago, and it appears that the temperature sensor (not clear which one) is showing a fault code and is reading the current outside temperature as -40C - well this is Scotland, but it's no where near that cold in the summer - or winter, so either the sensor is kaput - or there may be a wiring issue. If it's the wiring then where is Skoda manufacturing quality control which should have spotted a wiring problem on the car at build. It may help explain why this car takes twice as long as other cars I've owned to warm up. BTW the DPF is OK. Any similar experiences / comments?
  5. Not having much luck finding information on how to remove the rear hatchback panel to access the wiper motor and washers to unblock them. Any information is appreciated. I've already tried clearing jets with pins - they seem clear, pump motor can be heard so need to check out 'plumbing' behind hatchback rear panel.
  6. Thanks, I found the page and the Individual Vehicle information tab, but the only thing to download is a 4 page 'Contents list' listing all the topics - no manual.
  7. I've just noticed the same problem of rear water not flowing through rear water jets on my 3 year old Rapid. The pump is working. I've cleared the jets with a narrow pin to no effect, but can see that water is trying to escape so I now feel the blockage is further back down the tube. How do I remove the inside rear plastic panel that covers the wiper motor / water jets so I can check out the tubes? I've also heard that there is a join in the tube located somewhere under the rear seat but have not been able to locate it - any support is appreciated as I believe that Skoda will charge for unblocking pipes - even if the car is still on its last few days under warranty. not a valid warranty claim
  8. Hey, I and my car 'Rapid Ralph Rapid' - a Candy white 1.6D SE 105 Greentech have been together since 19th December 2013, - Ralphs birthday. Having owned 3 VW Passat Sports and 3 Ford Mondeo Titanium X's and covered over 500,000 miles in these cars, I have fallen for the superbly designed and constructed Skoda Rapid. The previous 6 cars did indeed have much more 'gadgets' - which were rarely used, some like the Fords (sorry I probably just swore) automatic lights / wipers were either an annoying nuisance or NEVER used, as was the badly designed tailgate opening with automatic driver shower - which allows rainwater in and has still not been redesigned. I will miss heated front windscreen - but 'hey' you can't have everything, - I'd rather save the 380Kg, use less fuel, and have a lighter car that will actually be able to drive in snow, we tend to have some at this time of year in Scotland - but none so far this winter, and have massively reduced fuel and 'running' costs. Rapid Ralph Rapid - his full 'Sunday' name has a wish to meet with Jonathan Ross and Sir Alex Ferguson - just so he can hear them say his name - I too will be much amused on that day. Ralph and I are enjoying our first few days together, I'm seriously impressed with the torque in this engine, it comes in at a good rev range, and at higher speeds (not mentioning what speeds) you just floor 'the pedal to the metal' and instant (very positive) response. Still not sure how the ERS actually works but if it's good enough for F1 then I'll have some of it too. I'm trusting you won't hear too much from Ralph and I over the years, just the odd question from time to time, and on that note here's question 1... Q - Can the glovebox on the SE model Rapid with A/C be easily converted to be a coolbox - like on the Climate Control A/C of the Elegance (up market) version? No prizes, but it would be an interesting first 'project...' Keep 4 black on the black, and the shiny side up
