My 2013 Superb Estate 4 x 4 diesel Auto 140bhp, has averaged just over 40mpg in the 9 years I have had it which I dont think is too bad for a big car. The maxidot has been15% above the tank to tank figure. Best 'real time' mpg I have averaged across a tank full is 47mpg.

I have a 2013 Reg Superb Estate (L&K) Is it possible to get the Sat Nav updated and, if so, is this a Main Dealer job?

Yes. Cant secure it at the moment as the alarm goes off Certainly wont be able to get it seen to at a dealers until Monday at the very earliest

Thank you all I enquired with my local VAG Independent, who has a good reputation, and was advised that the 4 year/40k figure was correct. However he was £100 cheaper on the cambelt/water pump replacement than the main dealer

I've been told by my local dealer that my cambelt (and recommended water pump) has to be changed at 4 years/40k miles!!

Jafo You mean an engine remap? I can occasionally get the computer to show 55-60mpg but there is an approximate 15% difference in the real time figure

Thank you all for your informative input. The Dash Cam is plugged into the 12v cigarette lighter and I do undo and reconnect the device between journeys. Hope I never have to rely on it but thankful that it does record over previous footage. btw I have had my Skoda Superb 11 for 4 years now and still pleased about the way it drives. Have received so many positive comments about the interior space, gadgets and driving experience. Apart from wishing it was built in the UK, have really been pleased with the car. Manage to get a real time 40+ mpg for a big 4 x 4 auto, which isn't bad!!

Had a Dash Cam fitted for a Xmas present but now away from home for a week with no access to the DVD instructions that came with the unit. Does the system renew itself automatically or does the little card inside have to be taken out and refreshed every now and again? I disconnect and reconnect the power cable when leaving the car for any length of time Is this correct? Appreciate any assistance as I am totally useless with technology so I am not sure the Dash Cam was the right sort of present for me as I am just coming to terms with the Sat Nav and other goodies on my L & K!!!

The interior mirror in my Mark 11 Superb Estate apparently has an automatic dipping mirror However whether I switch the light on or off doesn't appear to make any difference to the image I see in the mirror Am I doing anything wrong?

How much were the replacement wipers from Euro Parts please?

Thanks for help so far However does a battery change affect operation of the radio/sat nav etc? is there a requirement to put in a radio code once the new battery has been fitted? This didn't seem to be needed when the battery was recharged after going flat I am not certain that I have the correct radio code. How can this be overcome?

My front perforated leather seats seem to be dotted with rain spots the result of sitting in the car with rain affected clothes Any advice how to deal with this/clean seats etc please? Many thanks

I had my fourth pot hole related tyre problem in 3 years last week and had to wait for over an hour on a dark and chilly motorway for the Breakdown Truck to arrive It seems the hazard warning lights had drained the battery and this needed a boost to restart the engine. All seems OK now but having been advised by the Breakdown man that the battery seemed 'small' for the car (140 L&K Estate 4 x 4) and reading on here that original fit batteries may only last 3 years or so, thought I would invest in a new one. Any advice please on fitment? Hopefully I have the correct radio code in original documentation but, if not, how can this be resolved? Any other issues to consider with the electrics? Presumably as the battery ran down when I awaited the breakdown man I assume (perhaps naively) that interruption to the power supply does not necessarily cause any issues to radio, sat nav, phone or other connections Appreciate any advice

I had a similar problem when I bought my 2013 plate L & K Auto The dealers sale sheet clearly showed a £175 Tax Disc. When I came to collect the car the invoice included Road Tax of £205 I refused to pay the extra and this was accepted Apparently the spec of the car Auto/4 x 4 took it one Co2 into the higher tax band!! If I didn't like the car so much I would have created more of a stir. However it does show how much lower Co2 levels are on newer models.

I negotiated a 4 year extended warranty when purchasing my vehicle in 2013 The purchase document states RAC cover for the normal three year period and, rather belatedly, I thought it wise to check whether this would be extended in line with the warranty. The feedback from VAG was uncertain and it was suggested contacting the AA at the end of the three year period to check whether my details remained on the system When I queried the AA's involvement, I was advised that VAG have changed their Breakdown Cover provider. Is this common knowledge?

In my Superb L & G DSG with 4 wheel drive, I average around 40mpg brim to brim over 12,000 mile/14 months ownership, about the same as my previous car a 124bhp manual The maxidot says 47mpg so quite a difference

I reckon on a 15% disparity between maxidot and brim to brim However maxidot showed average of 57mpg recently and brim to brim came up as a disappointing 42mpg which is slightly above the overall average of 40mpg I have achieved overall

Any recommendations to get rid of marks left on the brown perforated seats of an L&K caused by some sort of liquid? Think it may have been water or diluted orange juice?

Is it possible to approach a different dealer and would they be willing to deal with the matter as they didn't sell me the car? I thought the dealer who sold me the car would be the best bet. I have also been in touch with Skoda Customer care but they have basically referred me back to the dealer which was somewhat surprising as I thought Customer Care would have been the ultimate authority rather than the Warranty person at the dealer. Anyone know of a recommended Independent paint specialist who would be able to provide an opinion on this. Apparently Skoda can get some an 'Independent' in a cost of £150 + Vat but I wonder how 'Independent' such a person will be

Interesting post I have 4 wheels pitted around the hubcaps of a 16 month old car Dealer Warranty man insists this has been caused by 'external circumstances' without ever looking at the car based on his long standing experience of such cases I have been offered the choice of replacing all 4 wheels at full retail price whilst the original wheels go off for inspection or pay £800 for an 'Independent Paint expert' to come to the dealers to assess the problem Neither of these seem particularly fair Will be interested to learn how other people have dealt with this not uncommon situation

Small rust pockets have appeared around the centre boss of all four wheels on my 2013 L&K Superb but advised wheels are not covered as a warranty item. Any one had the same problem and a similar response?

Received my replacement wheel today. Couple of questions on which I would appreciate guidance: 1. The new wheel came with the updated Skoda chrome centre boss fitted Is it possible to buy the Green Logo version singly or do they only come in packs of 4? Any suggestions on best place to buy? Quite like the chrome inserts and may buy these as replacements but would these be more expensive? 2. Has anyone found that their centre wheel caps have tarnished? Have just looked at mine and all four wheels have marks around the wheel hubs, on a car that is just over 12 months old!! Would this be a warranty issue?

Currently running on Continental Sport contact 225/40R/18Y Have been advised to change to a slightly more expensive Hankook Vectus V12 Evo K110 Any opinions? Always thought it wise to stick with factory tyres but I guess vehicle manufactures favour those tyre companies which offer them the best corporate deal

Can I thank all contributors. Could easily have bought a replacement for £363 from my local dealer but ended up with the one from Nottingham for more or less half the price
