Gidday from down under
in Hellos and Goodbyes
Posted
I guess that Gidday from down under has been used by every Aussie that joins this site, and at this point in time I don't even own a Skoda.......
But I do have the best bloody 4wd in the world and unbeknown to the Aussies IT IS NOT MADE IN JAPAN. Land Rover Discovery TD5
Anyhow as a Kiwi ex pat living on West Island (Australia) I am looking to replace my Holden Commodore (think Vauxhall VXR8 GTS in a wagon with a 3 litre V6 (tiny for Aussie standards))&(I truly prefer Fords but you don't have Falcons and have stopped making the go one s from the 60's and 70's)
Now to get back on topic..............
As I said I don't own a Skoda but really want one. To the point of looking at the new RS Octivia....Now in the rest of the world and even on Mar's these have been released. BUT I live in Australia and as yet they haven't and can not even give a release date.
So I can pick up a ex demo/managers Superb V6 with all the fruit (minus sunroof but I do live in Queensland where every day is a heat wave) for a good price.
Two years ago I drove through Germany in a Superb wagon (estate) and loved it. Best upgrade I ever had as I booked a VW Passat estate 1.4 manual and ended up in the Superb diesel auto.
I was trying to get the RS as it is one of the few estates left in Oz that can be had with a manual gearbox (yes we are pussy whipped down here) but the cost has blown out.
Any how that is my story.
I will pick your brains and keep you all in the loop as to what I buy
