  1. Thanks for that. As it happens I noticed that on the side of the connector plug there was a hole. Ever hopeful, I got a watchmakers screwdriver which I inserted into the said orifice and the connector parted company with the socket as easy as that. I hope others facing the same dilema might benefit from this tip.
  2. I need to replace the unit containing the puddle light and indicator unit courtesy of a stone wall I nudled against whilst on holiday. I have a replacement unit which I have separated from the mirror housing but I cannot for the life of me remember how to undo the connector plug. Please can some kind person take pity on an old fella and tell me how this is done please? Thanks
  3. Yes it is and used too.
  4. Thanks everyone for your helpful replies. I shall get the battery checked out as soon as possible. @nta16 In the last 10 yeaers I've not had any need to charge the battery other than run the engine on a journey.
  5. Thanks guys. Looks like I may be on borrowed time. I'll look to getting it changed soonest.
  6. My lovely Yeti will be 10 years old in November and I was wondering if there exists any recommendation regarding battery replacement. We've done just under 71,000 miles if that has any bearing on the subject. Thanks
  7. Oh yes - FAT32. Thanks👍
  8. Thanks Paul for your post. I am experimenting but getting nowhere. I suspect that something is awry with the Bolero unit itself. The files play beautifully on my imac, ipad and phone so I'm happy with the files themselves. I will try and experiment with the file format like you said. Meanwhile I have posted for help on the Apple forum but so far no help there.
  9. Well, I have tried all ways of getting back to how it used to be with my Bolero unit, so I must now suspect that the unit itself is faulty. I've now given up on this "nice to have" facility. Shame, but there it is :(
  10. I gave the SD card the same name as I gave the previous one that gave up the ghost. But should I put all my songs in a directory? Good idea which I did immediately and this time the unit said "Reading the SD card" then nothing. So I think you may have pointed me in the right direction. I shall experiment with putting a couple of songs in a folder and seeing if it works. Thanks very much. I'll update the thread with the result.
  11. Thanks for your reply. If all else fails I'll try using media player.
  12. I have used my Bolero unit to play my media files without any issues up to now. But quite suddenly my SD card failed in some way. Anyway, I bought a new card and filled it with mp3 files but the Bolero unit doesn't see the card. Previously (I am an Apple mac user) I used iTunes to export a playlist to my SD card and it worked a treat. Now a few years ago Apple withdrew iTunes and replaced it with the Music app. I created my playlist in Music but there is no export facility. So I tried dragging the playlist - but that didn't work. I managed to drag the songs onto the card but still. nothing. I've tried various SD Card formats. Can anyone point me at a tutorial for this please?
  13. Thanks - I have already searched on here, but couldn't find a topic - my apologies. I'll go and ask elsewhere.
  14. My lovely 2016 Yeti's Bolero touchscreen has gone crackers, so I'm looking to take the beast on and replace the screen. Can anyone tell me the screen size and part number I should be looking for to do this please - I see there are a lot of them on ebay? Thanks
  15. That's the one I remembered. Very many thanks
  16. I read "somewhere" that it was possible to replace the Bolero infotainment screen without actually removing the old one, but slip the new one in front of the old. I confess that I failed to bookmark this and wold lie to revisit it as my unit has started to fail. Can anyone help me here please? Thanks
  17. Thanks for your reply. That was indeed what I wanted and answers a heap of questions. Most grateful.
  18. My lovely old lady is heading for pastures new as she is getting her first service from a local garage as opposed to flogging 50 miles to the nearest Skoda service garage. I now realise that the owners manual is somewhat vague on what happens at each service in a Yeti's lifetime, and the receipts I got from my garage over the years are equally vague. Is there a guide written down anywhere which will steer me in the right direction please? Thanks
  19. Just realised that I had misread the manual - so reconnect battery (positive 1st) when the new batter is in place. (sigh)!!
  20. I recently had some work done on my Yeti and when I got home I discovered that the battery cover jacket had not been fitted (it was left in the boot). It's not convenient for me to go all the way back to the garage where the work was done so I figured how hard could it be. Clearly it can't be threaded around the battery whilst it's connected, so I figure that it's a matter of disconnecting the battery leads (negative 1st etc); refit the battery cover jacket; reconnect battery (negative 1st). Then I believe there are various operations to cancel some of the lights: windows. Have I got this correct or am I falling into a trap? Thanks
  21. Just to dot the i's and cross the t's - this is the light that I am talking about. according to the owner's handbook it is the Emission Control System light.
  22. Thanks @KenONeill. I must say that the reply to me was a bit of a shock. Much appreciated.
  23. In July this year the Emission Control System light came on. I took the Yeti to mt local garage who diagnosed that it pertained to a particular sensor and then they reset the sensor saying that it was possible that the fault was a spurious one. I drove home, and then when I went out in the evening after about 10 minutes driving the light came on again, so the next morning I dropped back to my local garage and they said that they'd order a new sensor. This was at the end of July. Last Friday 25th November I took my Yeti back to the original dealership for a major service and MOT. I told them about the sensor issue and that my local garage had it on order for 4 months and were still awaiting delivery. After a while the service advisor came to me and said that the light being illuminated would be an MOT failure. I thought this was rather odd as I understood that the MOT checks emissions etc. When I challenged what he said he stuck to his guns and said that they would reset the sensor and hope that the light stayed off during the test (which it did). He subsequently advised me that they could most likely supply and fit a new sensor which would cost £217 plus the fitting charge approx £50!! He also said that these parts if not in stock locally (a 2 day wait) would likely take 7-10 days to arrive. So now I'm in a dilemma. I drove the car home, some 60+ miles and he light remained off for all that time, but the next day after a short drive the light came back on again. Can someone please tell me whether or not the advice I was given regarding the likely failure of the MOT because of an Emission Control System light regardless of the fact that the emissions when tested are within the limits of the test was correct? Also, has anyone else had this particular fault? Thanks guys
  24. Thanks Tony - much appreciated.
  25. Just re-visiting this topic as my lovely lady had a close encounter with our garage wall and the rear n/s door foil is damaged. Sadly Tony the link you kindly posted 19 months ago doesn't work. It would be very kind of you if you could reinstate it please. Hope you are keeping well.
