  3. Id say number one is a pad wear sensor out, either replace relative pad or even just loop the pad end wiring to prove this at fault. Bulb wise first thing id do is scan with vcds / professional grade code reader, check which light is at fault. Replace bulb and clean and check connections then go from there is best i can suggest.
  4. Ahh not so much if it’s intermittent but used to see a lot of people forgetting to plug them in after service
  5. Had a water in fuel warning since you bought it mate?
  6. Ive just put a clutch in my 187k Octy, first clutch its had. Always been motorway miles until I bought it. Been towing miles since so hard work. As long as it’s not been abused it’ll be fine
  7. Has anyone ever attempted to retrofit electric heated mirrors to a manual mirrors car? Are they plug and play? Many thanks
  8. Iirc there was an update available for some of the transmission control units.
  9. Done the whole combo thing, wasn't too bad until 90k then literally rebuilt it but this was a really abused van bouncing up farm tracks. Personally I'd go for a 1.7cdti as 1.3 is a heap, 1.7Di is a bit sluggish, 1.7dti was a pretty good lump just got to watch the edu solders crack up and cause starting issues. Other than that it's just the usual corsa water leak issues etc. Got a Caddy, 1.6tdi had a few initial injector problems, but since sorted has been an awesome van now with 90k on it. Just suffers typical wear. Just look out for waterpump history on it. Also they are factory fitted with an smf so no pesky dmf problems unlike combo.
  10. I wouldn’t worry excessively until it starts to go. Can keep an eye on it as it starts to detiorate by looking at damp around seams of manifold.
  11. If it cheers you up at all, offside inlet manifold on a tdv6 is made of chocolate, seriously common for doing it. Would’ve been on the to do list in due course IMO if you hadn’t already had it done like you have, delightful job...
  12. There’s plenty of electro diesel firms out there that recon. I normally try to put a loom on when I do a set of injectors, just gives piece of mind for sake of the price. Used is an unknown quantity but is still an option
  13. Personally I’d recommend getting an independent garage to do the work with the aim of getting a company such as city diesels to test all 4 injectors and potentially repair. Glow plugs wouldn’t cause a misfire, however worth keeping in mind if you plan to keep the car. Not a hard job to do if you’re technically able.
  14. Worth considering that the 1.4 PD engine is fairly common for snapping oil pump chains.
  15. Jeez, not even my 184k original cambelt looked that frigged on the non driven side when I did it earlier in the year.
  16. I’ll message him on Facebook see if he’ll give you some info.
  17. Fairly common that the MAF wiring snaps near the connector. I’d suggest cutting wiring flush at jack plug and rewiring a new jack plug such as the ones available on eBay.
  18. Well you’ve certainly got a drain there provides battery is correct size. I’d be closing bonnet latch with bonnet open, hook an amp clamp over live feed from battery, check it goes to sleep when locked and look for excessive current draw.
  19. Thanks George, self assessment form it is then. And ohh yes fanatical about receipts
  20. Before Christmas a mate was telling me he'd used one of these tax claim back firms to claim back tax against his tools purchased in last four years. Now I've bought a sizeable amount of tools in last few years but struggling to find any info on the case. Is it a matter of filling in a P78 as I'm an employee as opposed to a firm? Anyone had any experience in doing this and any tips? Toxic
