  1. I’ve had my 09 Yeti since 2014 this issue is only occurring now when you look at the forums they nearly all say it’s the Rear Wiper switch contacts which would need the whole stalk replacing as it’s a sealed unit. Luckily I had the same issue on my 18 year old Octavia which turned out to be the wiper motor wash tube leaking which drives its electrics to do random things. It’s a clever design that on both cars had worked for over 10 years so a new motor is a simple answer ensuring the water connections are sound and leakproof when done. In most cases these will go for many years with no issues I’ve also replaced the very confused relay which I probably didn’t need to but for £9 it just seems sensible. No drama as it’s all easily sorted.
  2. Boxing Day evening whilst static at lights an ambulance damaged my passenger wing and front panel plus headlight and my insurers gave it a non economic write off type “N” so I’m allowed to repair and use again with no long term insurance issues. Having stripped out wing, front panel, headlight and the wheel arch liner I’m thinking it is also a good time to replace front suspension as it will be easy to do with it open. If I do coilovers I would need to do all four corners and want a smoother ride rather than race ride but better than the standard. My ask is, has anyone done this, what’s best for road use with a little off road and easy adjust. Best part of this has been picking up the replacement parts same colour match which came from a same batch car that had been badly rear shunted the colour match is spot on and the car had been extremely well cared for. The owner read of my bash asking if I wanted parts helping me un bolt sad as his car had only done 58k from his buying new. But clever guy had sold everything within 10 days as well as been paid off by insurer. He has bought a Fabia VRs awaiting the new Yeti to come out.
  3. I’ve had this same issue the fault comes up as Control System Exhaust, vehicle does not go into limp mode or seems to give any problem at all it a 59 Yeti 4x4 Cr 170. Fault occurred believe it or not after going through a large flooded puddle at 15mph no option as oncoming cars coming across my side trying to avoid flood on their side only mine had massive drop in pot hole that jarred the whole car with an overloud bang. upshot was two days later went and saw that hole was ironically by a drain grating where drain was blocked and dropped 6inches with square edges and out about 18 inches. New tyre re tracking etc. The warning light came on immediately and my local Garage checked the code but advised no issue with machanics so likely a damaged sensor, what I want to know is where is this on a TDI 2l and is it easy to replace myself. Vehicle still cruises nicely has bags of energy but strangely shows better economy which is weird, not that it was mean before. Any advice or photos are welcome on this as it just seems odd and I would worry that on a longer journey it might go to limp mode. To much tech in modern cars me thinks.
