  1. Bump. I want this car to be looked after once I sell it, and as a result I'm dropping the price to €3,500 euro (~ £2855) but I'm open to reasonable offers. This car would be prefect for someone in the North of Ireland. Come on guys, make me an offer, I won't bite!
  2. As above lads, I have everything needed for the conversion. I've had a change of plan as a car I've had my eye on came up. K04-023 All water and oil lines Tt downpipe S3 airbox and maf Sfs 80mm silicone tip Clutch kit to take the extra power and torque Fuel pressure regulator 600x300x76 fmic Tt charge pipe Bam inlet manifold Forge sai blanking plate Forge map sensor housing Oil catch can I've been told that this lot is good for 270bhp in Ireland, but as the fuel in the UK is a higher quality, it could make 280+/-, this information came from a highly regarded tuner of all VAG engines. All you've to do is bolt it all on and get a map! It's standing me 1200 euro, so in and around the £1000 mark for the lot. I may split if the prices are right. While I live in ireland, I work in distribution so shipping isn't an issue. I can get very competitive rates on international shipping. I'm fairly sure I'm after forgetting some stuff so just ask!

  4. Looks nice! You can use the same throttle body, right? Does the OE AUQ fuel rail fit ok?
  5. I like it mark! I'm hoping some day I'll get there...
  6. In my opinion, a better downpipe is important. I'm getting a custom 2.5 inch one. From what I've read, no extra power gain from a 3 inch, just noise. But I've read that a bigger downpipe = more power, but more importantly, the turbo spools much faster. I'm getting a custom turbo back system, much cheaper than a branded system.
  7. Care to elaborate on that mark? I'm very curious!
  8. Does anyone know if the octavia 4x4 is the same four wheel drive as say a TT or S3?
  9. I might start keeping an eye out for one with a blown engine or really cheap.
  10. I hope so! I've already started googling the possibility of making my vrs 4x4 too. From what I've read, it's a nightmare to do. But same had been said for making a 4x4 a vrs.
  11. Mine was a UK car, was 247.9 when it was over there, bits got sold off it and now it's at 212.6 at stage one. But I've gotten everything I need to make it 280, that's stage 3? Mods at the moment : Every boost pipe is silicone, Walbro 255 Mapped. Bits waiting to go on : K04 - 023 All bits needed to fit 4 bar fuel pressure regulator 80mm silicone tip Intercooler 600*300*76 core size BAM injectors that will be cleaned and tested BAM engine charge pipe S3 maf and airbox Getting a custom downpipe and exhaust Vr6 clutch/g60 smf kit Currently on the look out for : S3 strut brace Front and rear arb Brembo S3 recaros
  12. It doesn't matter, under boost, it'll pop off. There was another thread on here yesterday that had an eBay link fit a tool to bead the ends. Looked very good.
  13. You're better off getting the forge kit. I put that on my gti, and will be putting it on my vrs once I get to work on it. All the pipes for replacing the old ones are about 70 pounds I think.
  14. I just know that pipe as ' the y pipe ' from my experience, you're better off to get the set of silicone breather houses. Everyone 1.8t I've ever had, had one of the old hoses tear when I was doing a job! But that could just be my luck!
  15. If I were you, if put quarter of half inch cuts, 3-4 per end, at the bottom of all of the pipes and use a vice grips to bend them out a bit. And use strong t-bolt clips to fix it all in place.
  16. It's hard enough to explain when you can point at a car and show someone! Basically (I'm not an expert) it's very fine scratches made by dust out fine grit, like you'd find in a course compound, that is rubbed into the paint. Using a bad sponge on a very dirty car will result in swirl marks, over time it builds up and ends up as holograms. As for holograms from a rotary polisher, it's the grit in the compound burning /scratching the paint, it's very fine so if the light catches the paint, and you move your head, it's kind of like you can see a moving line across the swirl marks. I know that doesn't explain what it looks like very well, but it's the best I can do for now when there's no example to point at!
  17. I would add de-tar, and clay to that list. I actually do it add my bit of extra cash on the side. Standard job is: Wash, and let it dry. De-tar. Wash/rinse the residue off. Clay ( I just use water with a drop of chemical guys shampoo as the lube) A serious thorough rinse (at this stage the pores of the paint are clean and as a result start to hold small amounts of shampoo) Dry the whole car with a drying towel. Machine polish (compound will depend on how bad the paint it. Most cars I've seen will react very well to the medium grade compound.) At least one layer of wax. The more the better! And then the usual tyre, trim, glass, wheel cleaners and treatments. I've spent way too much money on cleaning stuff, never intended to make money out of it. But with the right products, it's very easy to make any case looking amazing. Forgot to add, if you're new to it all, I wouldn't use a rotary polisher. I've seen people working in professional valeting shops leave horrible swirl marks and holograms on clean paint, simply because they don't know how to use it properly, and they don't care. Use a dual action machine machine. If there is too much pressure on the head, it just shakes, stops spinning. That makes it virtually impossible to damage the paint.
  18. Bowders, thanks! Appreciate your help! I've made an offer on the eBay listing fit my one, but I'll have to see what they say.
  19. Hate to be a pain here Lloyd, but I can't find it? Not sure if I'm being an idiot or what. When you look it up on eBay, the photo says Ramair. Is that the right tip?
  20. I'm in for a k04 one if it's going ahead soon enough!
