normally contracts  say if price is to increase while you are waiting for delivery,  they have to give you 2 weeks or so notice, and you can either accept the increase or cancel.

model year changes are usually august, so they must have known back then that the price was increasing,

looks to me that they waited till the car arrived before telling you because they know that you will pay the extra after waiting so long

after waiting so long, i would have just payed the extra as well,  but i'd have asked them why they did'nt tell you back in august

I was informed in August that there is a new pricing for the new model year and that Skoda doesn't guarantee that price will stay the same, but they didn't commit to the exact amount then. It was an estimate, subject to possible changes, as the date of delivery was totally unknown.

I could argue I should've known the exact amount earlier, but I feel they had been relatively transparent, granted they knew as little as everyone about what's going to happen.

That is a long wait indeed. Is it an estate or hatch?

Hatch RS 2.0 TSI DSG, the normal non-iV one. Almost no extras - just heated windscreen, heated steering wheel and phone box for wireless phone charging.

    How did price change?

    143 000 -> 146 000 in Polish zloty, so +3k (2%) after dealer discounts.

They said it's due to model year change. I also had to change the colour (Steel/Meteor Grey to Mamba/Hyper Green).

  3. I've just received a message from my dealer that the car (ordered 1st week of March) was manufactured on 3rd of January this year and is now en route to the dealership, should be ready for collection in third week of January.

Bad news is they didn't keep the price. Good news is, the rate hike is relatively minor and the full spec was retained.

47 weeks from the order date to receiving the actual car.

  4. My wife was very explicit that Mamba Green is the only option she will consider from the list of available colors, when Steel/Meteor Grey was discontinued.

The Phoenix Orange was not yet available then, it might have been a contender, but she's definitely partial to the green one.

So yes, wifes seem to be quite particular about their choices 🙂 Fortunately, I agree with her most often in my preferences, so noone is cross about the outcome.

  5. That would be a legit reason, if it was actually the case. Seeing that many vRSes are coming out of order, and they are heavily specced from the start, that's rather not only it. Surely not the rear view camera at least, coming as standard.

Mine, for once, has NO extras over the base build. Yet, it's not coming anytime soon apparently, even though a handful of later ordered vRSes have shown up on this forum already.

    Hi,

i was wondering if any of you could help me out by posting a pic of an Octavia VRS in Hyper Green & also in Phoenix Orange ??  I had my heart set on Rallye Green, but as this has now been discontinued i'm not sure which way to go.

No local dealer has any of the above colours due in, so thus i'm asking for your help.

Check that YouTube video someone posted with their Mamba. I've seen many photos and the video is the best "online demo" so far.

Only on Auto mode full beam (1 push, not 2). I've noticed that a lot of bixenon beemers have been flashing me when i'm on dipped, but a quick blip of main quells any dickishness from them.

Forgive me for asking, but I'm reading through the user manual and their wording is extremely unclear and I'm yet to receive my Octy and I've never driven any car with matrix headlights.

When in normal auto mode, the car decides whether to use daylights or dipped beam (in the evenings or in rain), but never extends to high beam automatically - right?

And when in high beam (1 push of the lever), the car drives in high beam, working matrix magic on incoming traffic - so it's safe to push the lever and go high beams as soon as you leave the city and leave it for the rest of the journey?

Or is there some other way of using these?

  8. No news for mine, but I've finally seen a first Mamba Green vRS arrive in the country at one of the dealers, so hopefully something is slowly starting to budge.

I do hope my March order will get caught up in this factory closure to finish some of the sitting cars.

  9. My dealer tells me they have a backlog of 45 ordered vehicles (different models & specs) in limbo. During the last week they got 2 vehicles released, during past three - 7 in total. They have no idea if there is any particular order, as the vehicles are not released to them according to order date but seemingly at random.

The current status of mine is manufactured, has VIN number, waiting for parts, no further dates known. They are not even trying to give any dates anymore, they just don't know.

    Ordered week 9 (early March).

What bums me most is that a friend from the office ordered an Audi A4, got build-date, that build-date was respected and the vehicle was delivered perfectly on time. I was under the impression that the delays are everywhere, but somehow VW can do better than this.

  10. I'll chime in with my delivery, not much different than any of yours, unfortunately. vRS ordered 1st week of March. Initially planned for June, then shifted to September and had a colour change because of MY22 (was meant to be a Meteor Grey one, now Mamba Green).

After some period of silence the dealer contacted me and said it's confirmed for week 28, late July. Since then I got info that it's "in production" and that it was painted and assembled on 26th of July.

As of now, the car is still "in production" with no further dates known due to chips shortage (that's what they say). They also say they have cars sitting "in production" since mid-May.

I'm slowly getting used to the thought of going for my September vacation in a rental.

    Sigh.

  11. My RS came with Bridgestone Potenza summer tyres. I've read decent reviews of those tyres, they seem to be one of the top Bridgestone models and I've been always a happy Bridgestone user, but the grip on wet is really crap. Since the winter is coming I've fitted new Pirelli SottoZero 3 on the car and... boy, it's a different beast now! Even on a wet and greasy road I very rarely encounter any banging or other symptoms, it just blasts forward whenever I need it. The tyres have much bigger effect than I expected on the issue.

I wonder if the Bridgestones just need warmer temperatures and are simply not good on wet, or should I consider buying another set for summer too.
