  1. Im hopefully attempting the same setup on a combi tomorrow, can you offer any tips on how best to get the wiring through the tailgate harness and across behind the trim?
  2. My headlights have had condensation on and off for the past 18 months + without issue until recently when the condensation started again I then started getting an Automatic Headlight Control Error on the dash. Dealer said there was no fault or issue initially but have now been called and told that the headlights are being replaced!
  3. Yes the Wingbars are expensive (and it was hard to convince myself) but sofar they are well worth the extra expense as I can keep them on all the time with little effect on the cars fuel consumption, plus there's no noise up to approx 70mph unless there's a gale blowing or very strong crosswind. Additionally I do at least 3 x 1000+ mile round roadtrips overseas per year so the added low profile combination with the box is worth it in my opinion.
  4. Hi All, Thule Finally came back to me before Christmas to say my preferred combo of Thule Wingbar Edge 9584B Roof Bars in combination with the Thule Dynamic L would work, so I went ahead with the purchase and I think is definitely a great combo which complements the car well - below are some pictures for anyone else thinking of the same.
  5. Hi All, Yesterday while on a long road trip driving to see relatives ,I kept receiving an Automatic Headlight Assist Fault Error, so naturally this morning I opened up the Engine Compartment Fuse box to see if there was anything obvious causing the error. However immediately I noticed a Yellow 20A fuse was floating about, however I can't figure where it belongs as neither the manual and Skoda assist could tell me what fuse ratings are assigned to each slot / component. Can anyone offer any assistance? I don't want to just put it in any slot for fear of causing more of an issue. The Slots which appear to be missing fuses are 16-Ignition,Fuel Pump, 20-Alarm (Dont have one) and 21-ABS The car seems to be running without fault which I think is strange as I have no fuse in #16 FYI Car is an Octavia III VRS TDI (July 2013). Thanks for the help. (Apologies for the brevity sent from mobile)
  6. @Glosrich - thanks I did briefly look at the Skoda option but they are not what I am looking for and did appear to be over priced when compared to whats out there. @Airscool - many thanks - might look at these if I cant get answers on the Thule front - however the loading @ 60kgs is a bit low when I have to factor in my box may weigh 20kg. @Gabbo - thanks for the comments ref your 961's / 757's - that little extra bit of height is what I am trying to limit as I will be using the box / rails quite a bit and do prefer the edges as I can leave them on plus they will reduce the overall height/profile of the car when a box is in situ ! however the main issue I am being told by Thule is that the max usable width of load surface on the Wingbar Edges is 63cm for the rear "s" bar and 73cm for the front "m" bar and wont work with the boxes (Dynamic requires 88cm) I am looking at ! however 2 dealers say it will work ! which is providing me with a dilemma to me as the items have to be specially ordered on a no return basis and they are not cheap !!
  7. Hi All, My Car is a 2013 Skoda Octavia VRS Combi and I want to add an approx 400l roof box and bar combo on while keeping the profile as low and aerodynamic as possible - however one dealer is telling me the Wingbar Edges load area is not wide enough to take either box ! Can anyone advise is they have any experiences with Thule Wingbar Edge 9584B Roof Bars in combination with preferably the Thule Dynamic L or Thule Motion XL roof boxes and if so can they post some pictures of them on their MK3 Combis and post about their experiences? Alternatively if anyone can post their experiences and pictures of using other bars such as the Thule Wingbar 961 and 757 Foot Pack with either of the above boxes it would be appreciated as unfortunately I am more or less stuck with Thule for my roof box as options in Ireland are very limited ! I did find these images (Link) of a Thule Dynamic L with Wing Bars installed on a MK2 Combi - but one of the wing bars on the MK2 (2 x Medium Size) and are a different size than specced for the MK3 (1 x Small , 1 x Medium)
  8. Jollyroger, Can I ask what roofbox and bars you have ? I am thinking about Thule Wingbar Edges
  9. I am very interested in seeing this too - I am in two minds to go for a clear protector or one of the black / carbon fibre ones
  10. Great Video - Interesting to see a red car getting sprayed alongside a white car !!
  11. Can anyone post up a picture of their mk3 vrs with mudflaps fitted? Im debating weather to get them or not to my combi
  12. Has anyone managed to find out if driving selection mode can be retrofitted ? - I don't really care about the sound generator it's the button and functionality I require as as I recently purchased and ex Demo 2013 Octavia Combi vRS from a dealer- which basically has only standard options as here in Ireland due to our penal VRT System all new vehicles are usually a very minimal and stripped down spec when compared to the standard UK/European spec to keep prices down hence I am looking to add some options such as those requested by the original poster. - driving activity assistant, - crew protection, - lane assist. Plus what ever else I can add cheaply. However the dealer basically told me virtually nothing that I asked about can be added after delivery (Foldable Mirrors, Amundsen/ Columbus,Kessy,Drive Mode Selection, Driver Activity Assistant,Lane Assistant,Colour Maxi Dot, Electric Boot) and if it could it was a lot of time hassle and extra money!
