But how didn't you go for Bilstein B6 DCC?  You could upgrade all 4 for the same price Skoda quoted just for the two fronts, and have better handling and a product that should not fail again or at least would be serviceable...

€1800 for OEM , sounds right for the DCC, springs and mounts and installation from the main dealer. (Although the main dealer in limerick quoted me €1300 for replacing front DCC only . (no springs or mounts)

I have ordered the bilstein DCC replacement, but I am already waiting 5 weeks and it will take another couple of weeks I guessing. I getting all 4 corners done with mounts, (keeping original springs) , bushes etc for €1800.

I had mine custom made, I used a company called stickers international. I prefer the quality to the aliexpress ones I got, where the gold is a bit more like the gold on the waving cat in the Chinese restaurant, and didn't take long for water ingress to show on the Chinese ones I used on the wheel centre caps causing some delamination, so as well as front and back, I'm going to get more made from stickers international for the centre caps and steering wheel.

    Cool.

    I will look them up

Hi Paul, I would love to hear how you get on with this as I am in the same boat with at least one of the shocks on my L&K.........I'm in Naas but I travel the country.

    Hi k.

I probably asked the same questions to too many people and looking around was causing me brain damage.

I figure (suspect) that the suspension was going or gone before the warranty was up and the main dealer just didnt tell me.

Anyway there's 216k KLM on her or 134k miles  . DCC suspension is expensive. I try to look after the car and I was unimpreesed that the main dealer didn't offer the advice of replacing mounts and bushings etc, so I have placed an order with Dalton's in portlaoise for Bilstein B6 . I getting front and rear done. Due to availability, brexit, C19 , and couriers, the parts are not due in till mid may , (its now mid April) . cost is euro 1850 ish .

My Xeon front headlight is flickering every so often also . so I need both bulbs replaced .. Circa euro 100 each

Just got new tyres at €160 a corner

    Diesel is going up.

    Ffs..  Shoot me

  4. This is an education. Thank you!

I have a 2017 L&K  M3 with 215,000 KLM. The front shocks have stated leaking and I need to replace them.

I am looking at upgrading them but want to do it right and get the right costings.

I am looking at the Bilstein B6 DampTronic

    as you suggested

Should I change the factory fitted springs.

    I would appreciate your advice.

I wonder how much power a cigarette lighter draws?  A heck of a lot more than a dash cam, for sure.

I have a 3-way adapter plus USB power plugged into mine, running camera, satnav, phone charger and sometimes use the USB for charging another phone.

I think the dealer is somewhat mistaken.

I went to the garage yesterday. Coincidentally, the front windows switch cluster decided to not work last sunday. I could not open either front door windows, The passenger front window would work from its own switch.

I was then talking to the head mechanic and asked him about the cigarette lighter power, he started to say the same thing. I had the dual USB charger in my hand and asked can we try this in another car. He agreed and it worked OK. When they are replacing the window switch cluster tomorrow , they will have a look at the cigarette lighter too.

  6. 2017 L&K Combi

Recently purchased a 2 channel dash cam.. Front and rear.

I am awaiting the power magic Pro kit to hardwire it.

Need advice on positioning and running the wires?

Where to mount the power magic Pro to easily and discreetly access it?

Also running the rear camera wire to the tail gate.. Instructions on taking off trim on the tail gate as to as neetly as possible wire the rear camera?

    All help appreciated.

    Paul

  7. Hi guys.. I will update ye later on my 2017 L&K Combi estate... Purchased new.. Jan 17.. 115klm on it so far.. Generally happy.

I recently purchased a 2 channel dask cam.. (front and rear cameras)

Its my intention to hardwire it with the power magic Pro... I am awaiting it to be delivered.

However.. I was testing out the camera and plugged it inti the front cigerette lighter power socket.. Nothing happened.. I then tried a dual USB power adapter in the same cigerette lighter power socket.. Nothing happened.

I plugged them both into the rear passenger cigerette power socket and all worked fine.

I phoned the dealer and he said that that's correct. There is not enough power in the front socket to do anything else other than the lighter tú function..

Is this correct or is the dealer just fobbing me off.??

They said.. Haven't you a USB connector there... They said because of the USB power outlet.. There is not enough power in the front cigerette power socket.. And putting anything into it other than the lighter could blow the fuse.

Is this correct or is the dealer just fobbing me off.??

  9. Dealer agreed to provide Rear Bumper Protector - but apparently couldn't get one, I left the car in today to get wind deflectors fitted etc and it came out with a badly fitted clear stick on protector, (complete with air bubbles) . I was not impressed.

Does anyone know if a Rear Bumper Protector - Black Plastic is available , preferably as a "skoda genuine part" (as the dealer would suggest)
