  1. In reply to my own topic as may help others to cure this issue: Having had Adblue warning message come up on dash purchased 20ltr of Adblue about £25 and display said min amount to add was 10ltr. plastic drum fortunately came with filler spout and attempted reset leave ignition on for 20 seconds plus before starting but did not reset. Having done some further research seemed problem could be did not add enough now down to only 700 mile range according to counter I looked at drum and clearly had not added enough as should of been half of drum topping it back up again followed procedure ignition on 20/30 seconds and relieved it reset. So it is important to add close to the the volume it says on display to avoid issues with it not resetting also do not overfill have read that can cause issues with calibration. Finally do not ignore this warming or range indicator you can get to a a point where car will not start as tank is depleted. Hope this may help others..
  2. Hi all, Tried a search but could not find info, Having recently had the Adblue range warning message come up on the dash I added about 12 Ltrs and followed the procedure to leave ignition on for 30 seconds actually left it on longer and turned off and restarted engine. However the counter has failed to reset , I did find something online that indicated it could be reset with VCDS ? The car is a 1.6 TDi on a 20 plate not yet 3 year olds with 19.5K on clock. Thanks for assistance
  3. I did finally get it released and it enabled me to lower it enough to get to the back of it after releasing the clips and very carefully levering it forward. I did remove the two lower relays to help get it passed the glove box frame. Before I read your post I can up with the same method of inserting a thin electrical screwdriver through the aperture from the front of panel were I wanted to locate wires to guide them in. I did not see any locking strip but after pushing in pulled cable to check latch had located on cable pins. Just got a screen full of warning light that hopefully will clear after a drive. Stop start , Parking brake, TPS 😠 Many thanks for reply.
  4. Having recently acquired a Skoda Octavia 1.6Tdi pre facelift on a 20 Plate my first Skoda, I could use some help. I am in the process of fitting a towbar (Brink Demountable) that is now installed and connecting the dedicated ECS wiring kit at the front of the car to the Can Bus H & L at the body ECU that I have done after removing the glove box lid and side trim panels with no problems but need to get access to the rear of the fuse panel to insert three wires that provide the Ign & Live supply to the Trailer Module. Does anyone know how to get at rear of fuse panel i.e unclip it to lower it ? I can see three clips that seem to hold it to plastic panel but it does not want to move see photo attached. Many Thanks John
  5. Hi All, Many thanks for the useful advice and information looks like I am warming to the Octavia SE estate with 2.0 engine.. Zeberdy
  6. Good Evening All, Just signed uo to ask you guys some questions hope you dont mind, I am down sizing from a Ford Kuga as I have downsized my caravan that I tow so been seriously concidering a Skoda and struggling between the Superb or Octavis III in diesel form and what engine to go for either the 1.6 or 2.0. Obviously the Octavia III has the new platfotm and is lighter and combined with a 1.6 engine can offer zero tax rate also the new octavia seems comparable size wise without being over large to the Superb. I have a few questions about Octavia III Do they all come with the folding front passenger seat to accomodate long loads ? Do you only get a space saver wheel ? will cradle or is wheel in boot, accomodate full size spare wheel essential for caravanning . After the Ford I would like the heated front screen which is is a real bonus in the winter, but understand this is combined with winter pack heated seats and headlamp wash ? is this available across the whole range ? I am concidering either SE or Exclusive probably SE as prefer 16" wheels not low profile for towing , I hope to pick up a low mileage demo or similar and have seen some attractive prices as combared to similar Passats or Audi's I would be interested if people could comment on merits of 2.0 over 1.6 diesel engine as well as towing there will be plenty of reasonable distance motorway travel not much town commuting as have a small city cars C1 for that. Any recommendations for Skoda Bearwood seem to have reasonable stock of cars ?? Thanks in advance Zeberdy
