  1. Perfect! Thanks for explaining that. I’ll give it a try.
  2. Hello! We had the same discussion about the issue in my car in another thread, but thank you for the reminder. Can I ask what is the basis for trying the E5? The car is factory-ready for E10, I can’t see a reason why it would matter. But I am happy to be shown otherwise!
  3. Yeah, my suspicion is that something is off with the fuelling, hence it might be a sensor malfunction. No warning lights on the dashboard so far, and I don’t have the equipment to check for error codes. Let’s see what the mechanic says!
  4. This is interesting. My car - 2016 Mk.III, 1.0 TSI - narrowly passed its MOT last month. CO emissions were right on the limit. It has since developed a juddering in first gear, when cold. The car has just under 50k miles, and does mixed city/motorway miles. It routinely returns between 50mpg (city) and 60mpg (motorway). Long-term average is 55mpg. I am thinking there might be an issue with the lambda sensor, or perhaps carbon build-up in the admission valves. Probably the sensor, to be honest. The car is going to the mechanic next week for diagnostic. Let’s see what they say!
  5. Thanks! I’m going to book it to have it looked at it next week. It’s just that it’s the first time anything is not quite right in 6 years, and it’s a novelty!
  6. Hi! Yes, it did. The spark plugs were changed back in August last year - around 43k or so.
  7. Hello! I’m experiencing an issue in my 2016 Mk.III, as I was wondering if anyone has had the same issue. Starting this winter, the car has developed a judder. It only happens immediately after a cold start, and in 1st gear. Whenever releasing the clutch, the car feels judders and feels like it’s going to stall; I often have to depress the clutch again in a hurry to stop it from stalling. it does not happen in any other gears, and it disappears after a couple of minutes. I initially thought it was could be a clutch issue, but the fact that it only happens during cold starts and disappears a couple of minutes later, plus the fact that it’s only an issue in 1st gear, makes me think it might be something on the engine side. Maybe a sensor give funny? Possibly carbon buildup on the intake valves? I remember that 1.5 TSIs had a reputation for similar behaviour from now, but the 1.0 TSI doesn’t. The car is now 6 years old, has just under 50k miles, and has always been serviced in time. I’ve never had the slightest issue with it - 6 years of exemplary service. Thank you!
