Fantastic information guys, I just fixed mine (Skoda Superb 2011) in about 10 mins. There wasn't any insulation cover to remove under the glove box (maybe gone missing a long time ago?) or screws to undo, just pulled down on a little retaining lug next to the arrow and turned clockwise to unscrew. Didn't need to remove the wires, it just dropped down (with a bit of wriggling) and I could turn it by hand and squirt WD40 at it. Powered it up while still dangling and it worked fine so refitted and job done. Must've saved about £500 at a dealer.
