Holy thread revival batman!
Picked up my elegance today and was wondering about charging the PID.....
Will it charge from a powered USB socket? (PC, PS3, back of a TiVo box etc)
Any help would be great, thanks
-
Oh and 0% finance, not the only reason, but it all helps
-
I wanted something cheap and economical.
I only buy Skodas.
I wanted something more fun than my Fabia vRS mk2.
I saw the Sport model on the SUK website.
I bought one saving upwards of £200 every month not to mention the road fund cost.
Pretty much the same reasons...except wanting something more fun than my mk2 vRS
Not saying it's not more fun, it just wasn't in my reasoning :-)
Also like the sport, but was swayed by the elegance in the end....just got to wait for it be delivered now
-
I have a fabia in rallye green and thought the spring green looked a little "washy" in the catalogue, but having seen the pictures of yours and one on the road this morning, I must say the colour is great...
...too late to change my order now though, maybe for the next one in 3 years :-)
-
Agreed +2 on the glass roof.....swmbo, does not like a glass roof though, so didn't order one for mine
Nice looking car though

Hi all
Just had a call from the dealer to say my 3dr Elegance is built and left the factory
Ordered 6th October so around 10 weeks to build.....quicker than my mk2 fabia took!

I'm running the 1.2 on Tesco 99 at the moment. I am getting noticeably more miles per tank with it and the car is running great. Tesco 99 is 5ppl more than their 95. My local Shell usually matches Tescos price for 95, but V-power is 8ppl more.
Filling the tank with Tesco 99 is £2.25 more than a tank of 95. BUT it is going further and I reckon it's covering the cost.
Your Total garage is seriously taking the pi$$ with their pricing.
thanks for taking the time to read the question and not just rant aimlessly about 95 v 99 ron
5ppl sounds much better then 17ppl....time to change fill up points me thinks
-
Just very slightly OT but a general question about price.
My loacal garage sells Total with unleaded being around £1.34 and Excellium (97 ron?) being around £1.49 per litre.
In this thread the comments of "a few pence more a litre" have made me wonder if I am missing something here
A fill up from empty to full costs me around £6.00 more for using Excellium.
Please understand I am NOT debating if 95 is better than 97/98(it as been done to death - move on ) but asking what price do YOU pay and what is the price difference between "normal" and "super" at your local filling point?
-
Ha ha, someone is coming to view my vRS this afternoon, it might go without a trade in
Now that would be nice.
would you get a yeti in your garage
-
whats the least you have had on the instant mpg?
seem to recall seeing 9mpg when exiting an island on to a dual carriage when on holiday in Cornwall....but didn't have that much time to look
-
47.7mpg is still impressive, even if driven slowly mine don't get anywhere near that....but then I don't drive very slowly
-
at least the did not waste too much of your time then
-
Thanks for all your replies guys....as long its not causing any damage I can put up with it.
If it gets worse will go back to the dealers, just to get it on recored

noticed a wierd squeak noise at around 1800 revs when accelarating gently (i do sometimes!)
At first I thought it might have been the throttle pedal, but only does it when the car is running....actually might be only when the car is moving, but it seems to happen around the same time as the supercharger starts.
so my guess is they are connected - its a very different noise to the whistle / whine of the supercharger
any thoughts?

in sunny Newquay today and saw the usual "print you a hoodie" shop, but they also had caricatures of different performance cars and lo and behold they had one of my green mkII vRS
Well you have to when you are on holiday don't you so 10 mins later I had it printed on to the front of a White XXL t shirt for £8.00
The artwork was like this
http://www.duck-design.com/cartoon-cars-gallery/skoda
The place that did it was www.huntershoodies.co.uk if anyone is interested
The codes to ring and order are
Dk1132 for green with black roof
Wa1088 for blue car
Dk1130 for red
Dk1133 for White
-
That's a bit of a disappointment as it looks good with the sunroof in and the black grill as well of course

Holy Thread revival batman
onthe subject of settings - I have "gala" up at 7 but do not hear any difference in the volume as my speed increases
Fairly sure it is set up right - in fact not even sure it can be set up wrong?
worked fine on my MkI vRS(I realise its a differne thead unit) - anyone any thoughts before I venture back to the dealers

Status update: In transit from factory to Germany port. Getting excited!
Nice.....another few weeks and it could be with you
-
Just out of interest, whats the best way to get the stickers off with damage to the pain?
Razor blade and coarse sand paper to finish? Blow torch and scrapper seems a little like overkill
Also got a dealership sticker in the back window which i want to get off & a Skoda assist on the windscreen. I thought they might peel off nicely, but no luck
Any hints appreciated
-
Tried the kick down button today, while in the car park at work with the engine off
Just wanted to see what the "click" felt like......got to say it was very exciting, can't wait to try it with the car actually running
-
Can anybody tell me the next step after confirmed build week on track my Skoda?
I have a confirmed build week 24. What can I expect to see next?
Mine was build week 19 and picked up on week 22
Updates on trackmyskoda where -
Unconfirmed build week 19
Went from build week to transport to Germany port
Then at At UK port
And that was it

if you apply the handbrake when stopped and take your foot off the brake - as I asdvised by the dealer - the car tries to drive off (the nose rises) for a few seconds then disengages the clutch for you (the car settles).
Very disconcerting the first few times it happened, but the salesman said it was OK :wonder:
Now I just hold on the foot brake or put it in to "N" and apply handbrake if waiting a while at traffic lights
-
guess who wont get much sleep tongiht
have fun in it mate - we all do (in ours of course!)
-
[quote name='B3ats' ... and the noise in the cabin!
got to admit I am starting to really like the noise it makes too
coming form a mk1 I still feel like I am thrashing the engine at 4,000 rpm, but getting used to it more after a few weeks (2 weeks today!)

Thanks for your help guys.
I have a Garmin edge for cycling and the plug charger from that seems to do the job as well.
Just going to try and wrestle some music on to a SD card for it now, will read the instruction manual for that one.....honest
