At polish Octavia's forum, many users claim the B-pilar wear by the safety belt.
In my VRS this is not appears yet, but I would like to know Your observations.
It looks like bad design - in other cars this problem is not existing.
The dealers are saying to the customers, that improper belt using is the rootcause, but I don't think that people changing their usual methods with car change.
Below some pics, from cars not older than 1-2 years and mileage 3000 - 10000 km:
Mine is the same as the bottom picture, drivers side only. Car is only 9mths old and has 9.5k on the clock

I asked again if they'd do the satnav update, but got same answer, "you do that yourself"
I haven't done mine from new, put off by the owners on here saying they had difficulty!
As long as you are using Windows 8 or above you will have no problem, just make a back up and let windows unpack it. I dug out my laptop rather than muck about with my iMac, also most of the peeps having issues were using The recommended Zip 7..
-
Holding down unlock will open the windows. Likewise holding lock will close them.
If I'm ever leaving the dog for a few mins in the car I use this feature to crack the windows (yea yea, dogs die in cars, I know - I'm taking about 5 mins on non hot days!).

Thanks. Thinking I need to read the manual again.

Ok, see if anybody can let me know why the following happened, I can't work it out..
Unlocked the car (estate) to let the dog in. Note the rear seats were folded so a cage would fit. Dog was wet so lent in to spread a towel over the bedding and the two near side windows opened halfway, I did not notice at first but both the off side windows also opened slightly! I did have the key fob in my hand and think I could of caught one of the buttons. Any ideas?

Whilst I am bit****g I must also mention the boot window and how quickly it attracts dirt (Estate/Combi). 5 minutes after washing the car I cannot see a thing out of the back. The glass must have been designed by Dyson.
I have spent many a year driving vans with no back windows so cant see what the fuss is all about, OK it's a nice to have one but it's not needed, truth be known if mine has been knocked it may take days before I notice as the door mirrors are perfectly OK. All estates I have owned have been no worse than the one I have now for attracting dirt on the rear screen.

Thanks for all your reply's. Shame the speed options can't be altered within the car settings, I can't see why it can't be as simple as on or off at any speed.

After finding out I had this on my car ( thanks to this site) I tried it out, first short trip, worked great on the way there, but nothing on the way home (same roads), or since.. Until yesterday. Reading other posts believe it may be controlled by speed, as well as light. If this is the case what speed does it kick in at? I have use mostly local roads ( dark & winding) where it would of been ideal, last night traveling back from Southampton mainly on A roads it suddenly kicked in and worked pefectly after that.

I use mine mine mainly for work, short stop/start journeys. I struggle to get over 41mpg.

I saw a universal one on EBay for less than £7.00 inc P&P. Thought it was worth a punt. It fits where it touches, stop most dog hairs, ideal for carting garden rubbish. It'll do me..

Yep same here with Amundsen, blank screen radio playing, turn off unit no clock; turn off car and restart, all OK. Worth mentioning to dealer just in case it goes kaput!
I had this on my Amundsen last week, only the screen was black, thought it was turned off. Pulled over switched ignition off/on and all been ok since. I also had the Maxidot do the same a few weeks before, switching on off did not cure it, until I left it parked for a while, again been OK since.

This is all still a massive step ahead of the updates that are available for the MK2 Octavia and current Superb Columbus units. Only option there is by an expensive DVD (officially anyway).
I think that Skoda are offering free downloadable updates is a great idea.
What connection have you got and also how much are you paying for your 10gb limit?! An unlimited broadband connection is far from expensive these days.
With my current speed 21gb would take approximately 70 minutes.
Phil
It only took 37mins for me to download .... Yet to do the update.

+1
For sure, they will only offer this for "new" customers whos car comes with a gen2 headunit with MirrorLink & firmware updates supported.
Everyone else will just have to settle for 3 years of map updates... :(
Map update only for me, not 100% sure what Mirrorlink is but think I can live without it. If a firmware up date ever came out so speed.. sorry safety cams could be added I will not be happy.

Anybody used a Mac with this update?

Yours has it, press the high beam stalk forward once and you'll get a little symbol on the dash but no high beam, press it forward again and the symbol goes out but, the manual high beam on.
Thanks, now got to wait until dark to try it out.

Which version of iOS are you running? Bluetooth is somewhat broken in 8.0 through 8.0.2, so make sure you're running 8.1.
Again mine was OK with 8 & 8.1.
Can't remember if you get the car to look for phone or vice versa. Try both.

Not great at spotting stuff coming around bends, also older cars with dimmer lights can be a bit dim witted to pick up. Also it does not detect pedestrians...i used mine the other evening and blinded the hell out of a guy and two young children walking towards me before i was able to deactivate it.....i know ultimately youre probably not obliged to dip your lights for pedestrians but I normally would do out of courtesy....also I think it would have trouble picking up push-bikes or scooters unless they had particularly good lights on them.
Simply if it hadnt come as standard id never have paid for it.
How do you know if you have auto dipping headlights, I have only driven my car once in the dark, lights set on auto.. Blinded the first car heading towards me so presumed I have not got them.

Mine paired no problem.

Did it give any options to indicate where the nearest fuel station was?
It gives a list of garages starting with the nearest. So if its Nectar / Tesco points your after you can scroll down and see if there is somewhere in range/on route.

I assume you've reported it to the police - not that I expect them to send a CSI unit round, or even do much to catch the little scrote(s), but if they don't know it's happening, they certainly won't do anything about it.
OK time to name and shame. Surrey police....
A group of youths (C word may offend) smashed the windows of 10-20 cars in a road near where I live. When reported to the police the answer was ' we have only one officer covering the area and we cannot send him out there as it might put him in danger' FFS..

The whole display went blank. It was as if it had been switched off.
-
On the infotainment press the following:
CAR >> Setup >> Multifunction Display
Make sure oil temperature is checked
Will check in the morning. As I say it seems OK now, why would this cause the display to disappear?
-
I pulled over to set up sat nav, not sure if I switched engine. Shortly after pulling away I noticed the Maxi Dot was blank. After pausing every button I pulled over again switched off ignition, removed key, started up and it was still not there. After parking up and leaving the car locked for 15mins I set off again and everything back to normal. I've not seen anybody else mention this problem so wondered if I'm the first.

I'm sure there is a link on here to download the radio logos, just tried looking but no joy. I'm sure you could Google them. Once you have them put them onto a usb stick, tune into the station you want then settings, logos, choose source (usb) or something along those lines. It's worth doing as it makes it easy to identify the channels and adds a bit of colour to the radio screen. How do you do this? If I can do this I can surely put Camera POIs in too
Edit. No chance of Camera Poi's, they are on my wish list.

What's the bloody point of the port in the first place?
It's there so you can load your radio station logos. Well that's I've used it for so far.

Re breathalysers. As I have a motorhome I follow forums regarding these . It has been mentioned many times there is no need to carry them. Early on the police did not seem to have been told they were no longer required. It seems only one make was allowed and as above they are now out of date and no longer available. That said many ferry company still try and persuade yo to buy one on the ferry, prob because they have thousands to try and shift.
