Does the DSG actualy change down to 4 (and you can see the revs go up), or is it just the display which wrongly says 4?

I could defo feel that it not in right gear. As well the display shows D4 D5 going back forth then to D6 same going up to D7 first it goes to D5, D6 etc. Initially I thought mabe me the display doesn't sync with engine

Are you sure you are not climbing up a hill/incline because this can sometimes trigger the DSG to change down rather than up to ensure the engine is not laboured in too high a gear at too low revs?:hi: Fortunately my remapped petrol Superb has 514nm (standard is 350nm at 4,500rpm) at just 2,600rpm so my car will go uphill in 7th gear from just 1,200rpm much to my surprise/delight.

Yes this happens mostly straight clear road as in Motorway.

  3. Hi Guys I have question regarding my DSG Kodiaq 2liter SEL.  I have noticed that the gear doesn't  shift as quick as I would expect it to be shifting.

Sometimes if I'm on 5th gear going up to 6th I can see on VC that it went first to 4th gear then goes back to 5th and then finally moves to 6th.

I am not sure why it does it. I can definitely feel the car has right speed to hold on 6th gear and changeing on right time.

As a result of this lag on gear change it feels I burn more fuel. I would appreciate if you all could share your views.

Mine is also booked in with Chris Farthing on Saturday morning, £280 inc. VAT for the genuine Skoda highline version fitted in a Skoda workshop.

Do you know how much of the interior trim is removed? He told me it'll take approx. two hours to complete.

This was from one of his Facebook posts, it looks like quite a significant strip down :o

    No photo description available.

I'm hoping I'll still be rattle free afterwards...

Gosh that looks like a proper instalation of 1080p film camera 😛 I dropped mine at 9am pickied it back same day by 14:00.

I'm looking at buying the Nextbase 522 and rear camera and wondered if anyone has any pics or advice on routing that cable from the rear screen. I'm going to buy the Nextbase hardwire kit which means I'll have a hard wire from the dash cam to the fuse box which given the superb tutorial here shouldn't be too much of an issue, but I'll also have 6m of rear camera cable to route and/or hide which needs to feed back to the main dash cam. Any ideas tips or hints? Thanks

I am thinking of getting the same camera :)Which fuse you are thinking to go for? Did you manage route the cable for the back camera?

Your quoting factory fit price, mine was fitted when car was a few months old, and yes £280 was with vat.

As posted above its £500 an odd @ most dealerships to have fitted.

To be honest I am pleased it was possible to fit.

Yes it would be nice to have it fitted for less. I tried 2 dealership both quoted exactly the same. I think with brexit parts price has gone up as well.

    £542 for a reversing camera 😯😯

The last 2 I have fitted have been ones integrated into the OE boot handle or number plate lights and have cost less than £10 including delivery from China.

You can see where they make their money on new cars.

:) If its was Chinese it would void my warranty 😬 Thats why I had go with skoda part.

I didn't have the option as mine was a pre reg. I didn't think I'd miss the one I had on my previous car, but I do.

Can I ask how much it cost and did you fit it yourself ?

On my previous one I didn't have it. I think its a good option to opt for as parking places are getting smaller and smaller. I paid £542 (inl vat) I checked with 2 dealers both same price.

  9. Hi Guys. I have just retrofitted a reverse camera on my Kodiaq from my skoda service partner but I am not sure if its any different to the factory fitted one. I was told it was exactly the same.

Attaching a picture of it please let me know if its any different to factory fitted one.

Its placed in boot opening latch. I belive its called highline camera. I regret not opting for it when I ordered the car.

Hello Monto.  I think you’re getting no replies because we don’t know what “cosmetic insurance” is.  What is it?

Hi Dave Sorry for the late reply. Smart/ cosmetic is separate to your main insurance which covers minor chips, dent or scratches.  As Scot5 said guard against botox going wrong 😛

Ah!  At the other end of the process.

My old car has been sitting at my door for 8 weeks since the contract expired waiting for collection.

In simple terms, the car you're handing back should be as clean as possible, so that whether you take it to the dealer or the dealer comes to you - as in my case - the car will make a good impression.

There is a well defined list of things that will be inspected.  Any damage will be charged at a pretty hefty price, e.g. scratches and scuffed alloys.

The only "defect" on my car is an "Inspection Service message that would have been cleared at the dealer in March, but they shut the shop.

My collection is booked for 1 June so I will give the car a final wash the day before as it will have been unused for 10 weeks.

Thanks. I am on the same boat :) no warning lights but only few minor cosmetic scratches etc. I am now waiting for them to collect my old one.

I am also due to pick my new one but have slight issue as I am not sure how the WLPT would work for me as I could collect in March coz C19. There was a possibility the dealer didn't seem to be bothered much 😕

I’ve interpreted the question as Collection Of New Car.

Don’t let the excitement stop you giving the car a thorough once over.

Scratches on the bodywork and wheels are the obvious one. But seats and trim inside too.

Check any added extras are present and working.

In fact, check that everything is working. You’d be surprised that some don’t.

Tyre pressures may still be set at transit level.  Possibly even spring blocks.

Check in boot for locking wheel bolt key. And tweezers to remove bolt caps.

Spare wheel and jack if you’re getting one.

    Handbook.

Tell them to stick on the number plates. Straight would be good.

A new apprentice must have drilled my new number plates. An atrocious job of butchering the plates with a drill. Luckily I’ll be sticking the new plates on soon.

    Etc.

    Etc.

    Etc.

Sorry I meant handover of my old car to the leasing company :)
