  1. my grind started at around 2000 miles on both occasions -still very noisey even when i put radio on
  2. when the pads and disc were replaced by trust in redditch i was given an invoice detailing what they had done including the cost pf parts However when i took to Blade in Gloucester they said they had replaced the pads but did not give me anything ,as the grind commenced within 5 miles -was a sat so garage had then shut-i contacted both the garage and skoda who arranged three weeks later to have the car in for two days -distance was around 30 miles so no transport and needed a courtesy car hence the wait. hen i got car back i asked for proof of work done.AS they did not give me one and the problem was continuing skoda told the garage to send me one.what they sent combined both visits and crucialy did not say that new pads were fitted that saturday.After a few e-mails to the garage i finally got an e-mail back confirming they had replaced that day-do i believe them when all i asked in that invoice was confirmation similar to that given by trust .it was a simple request that was quite clear and they wouldnt do it -hence why whilst i have printed off the e-mail Others have commented on new pads bedding in before the noise starts-if so why not the pads from blade .i repeat its not the noise from pads with contamination that comes off-the car never stands long enough without use
  3. having had a driving career of 50 yrs and done around 500,000 miles i know the difference between pads that rub and those that grind.My point is that when they replaced the pads and discs they were warranted for 12k miles. Having had the pads replaced a further 2k miles late without an invoice to prove it and the dealer wont give one -how can i trust dealers to do their job. Ive paid 9565 for the car -not cheap if on a pension -i dont mind putting in another 500 tp replace the car but why should i then have my payments go up from 87pcm to 147pcm for a mk2 fabia 9although they now tell me theres non left in the uk)
  4. i could go to an independant garage but as they were replaced or not under warranty doing so invalidates any warranties-the pads are warranted for 12000 miles remember by skoda .yes maybe it sounds trivial but this has been going on for nearly six months and its the way dealers and skoda uk have responded that also the issue -good customer service is important-first skoda and im not imprressed with them -car in the main is fine -would i buy another knowing how the dealers and skoda have handled this -probably not even if the car was the best thing since sliced bread -TRUST
  5. Richf-at 2000 miles pads and discs were replaced under warranty due to warped discs.See my posts as to whether the last set have in actual fact been replaced at all

Emil- i hear the grind with the heater and fan on ,dont use the radio .Its the attitude of dealers and UK Customer Service thats the issue as well .The car has had this problem for 6 months out of 9 and according to the dealers its now had three new pads simce new and ive only done 6000 miles ,As you can see from my last post i doubt theve replaced them as they wont give me a clear reply they have in fact change them.Its called trust.

I disagree -its important we get what we paid for -I dont disagree the cars are fine hence why i bought one.What i dont expect is to have such shocking lies from dealers service departments and poor customer service response.The title is customer service after all. I have now had e-mails from the garage-the first they waffled so much without saying they had replaced the pads on the first occasion so i sent an e-mail asking specifically to confirm they had replaced the pads on that date.I have just had an e-mail saying they could not add to their e-mail.A simple request requiring a simple answer -conclusion is they did not replace those pads .Tp make matters worse they now also tell me to contact customer services . I believe CS should send me to a different dealer and have the pads changed with full doumentation -not a big cost to Skoda but more likely to make me feel better towards them
  8. i went back to muy selling dealer first and when he said nothing wrong i took to another dealer that skoda uk arranged,they replaced both pads and discs under warranty,after 2000 miles it happened again.this time they claimed they couldnt even hear the noise yet everyone else could,So i went to another dealer -Blades -who claimed to have changed the pads =as they grinded immediatly i contacted skoda uk who sent me back for two days -the dealer claimed they were ok.THe fist time Blade did not give me proof they had replaced the pads so i asked skoda uk -i got one on sat but this was a combined invoice and did not make clear they were new pads fitted .Wen i contacted skoda customer service they were not helpful -a case of unless you can prove it -tough ,I came away with the feeling i was being given the brush off.Might be a minor problem to some but i did not buy a car with a definate brake grind -it was not on the test drive car and i would not have bought it if it had made this noise .I have rung three more dealers and they have not had any cars that made a grinding noise .

Re my previous posts on brake grind So the Skoda UK customer service called again he contacted the dealer who claimed to have replaced the pads but sent an invoice based on two visits that does not mention they have replaced them with new. He says the dealer are telling him they have been replaced and there is nothing they can do as Skoda Uk. According to the deaer they left thejob card open as they assumed i was returning -if they had fitted new pads why would i be returning-i woudnt have needed to return so what is the warranty worth -nothing My opinion is Customer Service are not interested in the customer at all -i can consult third parties is what im being told I would not recommend Skoda cars to anyone I bet idf i try and ring Blaade asking for an invoice to say they fitted new pads i wont get one

I have now recived from Blade a list of what they did when they had the car in for two days However when i took the car in a month earlier they claimed to have replaced the pads-this invoice hasnt been sent-wonde why ? the invoice i received mentions high metal content in the pads -but then that they just put them back
  11. no mines continual skoda guy said he would ring in 1=2 days when hed talked to his parts dept-nothing and blade said the proof they had changed the pads would be sent -nothing yet -suspicious?

Acording to Skoda UK its completley normal for a Citigo.If so why did I mot hear it on the test car i drove before buying my car.Alos why did i not get it for the first 2000 miles ,then when the discs and pads were replaced it stopped for another 2000 miles and yet when Blade replaced the pads agaim it started straight away(have no paperwork to prove they did so )/Doesnt make any sense for them to say this is the characteristic of the car/I also have contacted 5 service departments at various locations throughout the country and not one has either had a problem with citigo brake grind or even heard of a problem.Skoda say they are going to check with their parts side to see if there are different pads/discs supplied to their dealers or whether its just the one type to all I feel the runaround coming on-anythoughts i how proceed
  13. the other thing is if it was a common thing then why did it disapear for 2000 miles when the new pads(for which i did get paperwork) were fitted by trust skoda.My feeling is Blade skoda did not fit new pads hence why they did not give me paperwork -they probably just sanded them down .It doesnt explain why the pads grind after a while though
  14. i am sure my noise is from the front and prsumably is why they have changed the pads twice .the noise i am getting is everytime i brake -i hear it most between 0-15 mph as i brake -its a metal on metal sound .when the master tech took the second set of pads out he came to us and said their was more metal in the pads he took out than a new set so he said he had replaced them -i drove 5 miles and it reoccurred.I was not given any paperwork to say they had replaced the pads-why? Skoda uk contacted me and said they had contacted the master tech who told them he couldnt find anything wrong and it was merely a characterisic of a skoda citigo -the only way i can describe the noise is similar to what you used to hear when the pads were down to the rivets years ago.When i said to skoda uk i had not received any paperwork from Blade on the two occasions she just said shed ring them and come back to me.How can i definitavly discover if this is common to all skodas. the noise is the same winter and summer
  15. Can anyone tell me if it is common for citigos to have a gru=inding noise on braking. Skoda are telling me that this is a common feature on this car and is part of the vehicle characteristics so i could not reject the car. If this is true why did one dealer change both disce and pads and another the pads the car has now done 5000 miles .the last dealer who changed just the pads did not give me any paperwork to prove he had done the change -is this normal when done under warranty. they also say the lack of soundproofing is why im hearing the grinding noise one fed up owner ps skoda say i can pay another grand plus higher reypayments to get into another car but why should i as this will double my paymenyts under pcp to 140pcm
  16. i know how you feel frustrated as im having the same (see posts ) They are niggly but recurrent and i have to travel miles each time i take it in ,then ring customer services who claim to have tried to ring but definately didnt.The miles clock up on PCP .Id love to start again as i feel ive a rogue car ,Im now having to wait till 5th March before the dealer can have another look at mine-the reason is because they say they need to have a couresy car for two days and that the only date they have one so it a three wek wait since i took it in last
  17. trouble is mine is constant whatever the weather .It has gone now over three sets of pads .I remember years ago a product called coppergrease was put on the back of the pads and shims to stop brake squeal .The noise im getting is a grind-metal on metal.The tekkie sais there was metal in the pads?
  18. no its all the time .assuming Blade did replace the pads on Saturday as they said(wouldnt give me anything to keep despite asking) they had then it doesnt add upbecause thats three set of pad each doing less than 1800 miles or less -in the case of the new pads less than 12 miles .What worries me is that the are claming to have replaced the pads but are they just removing and sanding down .The tekkie claimed he had put on the ramp and only got a grind when the pads met the disc ,he removed them and said he found nore metal on the pads than on a new set so he replaced them .he also mentioned something to the effect that years ago pads had a black compound on them.
  19. took my car in on saturday with a brake grind-was told it was pads and they were replaced under warranty but within 12 miles the grind has returned -thouroughly fed up with my citigo -3 dealers now and the problem remains
  20. re my previos brake grind bought the car in June 2014 and at 1500 miles was told the brake noise i was getting was due to a stone between pad and disc, The pads were sanded down but less than 500 miles further on I had it in again as the grind was still there.Skoda UK sent me to another dealer for a second opinion-they said the discs were warped so replaced under warranty.A further 1800 miles and they grind again. The two previous dealers say -cant hear it.DSo olast Saturday i went to a third dealer inGloucester.The master technician discovered a lot of metal in the pads and concluded they were the problem -he said he had replaced the pads.Within 20 miles guess what -same noise-had they replaced them -they didnt give me any paperwork. Ive e-mailed Skoda Uk but can anyone else suggest either a reason or answer and how to resolve this issue .I feel like handing the car back but how do i get my money back(on PCP).All the dealers will get me into an old style Fabia but they want a further £1000 and the payments go up to by double from 88 to 140

  22. i had a phone call from my dealer saying i needed a software update on my 14 plate model. It went in -power steering software update. Seemed Ok for a couple of days but now seem a bit stiff and hard work to drive.Still getting a brake rubbing noise as well. Anyone else had a recall notice in the last couple of weeks or know whats going off with this car as IM THOUROUGHLY FED UP WITH IT. Its had clutch pedal changed,new discs and pads and now this only done 4000 miles in six months.The two dealers ive taking car to both tell me different things .The original dealer wanted me to change to the old fabia model (put in 800 plus my payments then went up to 148 from 88 per month-to make me happy which i declined -last week -why? iVe never had a new car that im so fed up off -doesnt drive well at all
  23. i did 50 miles today and the rub was there throughout -to be honest i hear it less when cold
  24. i live in evesham in worcestershire -to be honest i have only seen one other citigo in this area .anyone like to hear my noise ill meet up. with regards to the brake rub i only hear it on that low speed braking between 5mph to stopping starts off like a rubbing sound but on the first set of discs and pads it deterioated to a grind by the time it had got to 2100 miles ,first noticed at 1800 miles -the garage said it was a stone between pad and disc that was the cause ,they took the pads out and sanded them down but when it ccontinued and got worse i contacted customer services at skoda who arranged for a diffferent dealer to inspect -they said the discs and pads needed changing under warranty ,Ive now done another 1800 miles on the new pads and the noise has restarted .what i cant confirm is whether the second dealer sent an invoice to Skoda so it worries me they may have just removed the pads and resanded them. never had rubbingon other makes of cars so is it a skoda thing steering seems lighter since the recall was done yesterday
  25. i purchased a citigo in June 2014 and have had the clutch pedal replaced but im finding in neutral i now get a noise that disapears when i depress the clutch. Also i got a noise between 5 mph and zero when braking -bit like a rubbing soun. The dealer said this is normal at 1800 miles so skoda arranged for me to go to another dealer who replaced the discs and pads under warranty(cant find evidence skoda pad them) .The problem has now returned and thyre saying this is normal for all skoda cars to have this noise(material the pads are made of) Do i believe them advice on both issues please As a matter of interest ive just had a recall on the power steering-software update was required
