  1. Been looking for new wheels for a while now and really like the look of 17” TT comps. The offset is 32, will they look ok? Don’t want them sticking out too much. Car is currently on standard springs but planning a wee drop to finish the look. Thinking 20mm front and 30mm rear, will that work ok? i know they wheels fit on mk1 and 2 so am I right to assume they will fit the Mk3?
  2. Top and bottom pics are 17’s middle pic is 16’s. The bottom pic looks perfect imo but worried the 17’s will ruin the ride.
  3. Thanks for the reply mate. I was looking at circumference numbers today and they are very similar. Looking at pictures online and it looks like 17’s fill the arches but in the pic you posted there is still a huge arch gap and it is definitely sitting higher. Maybe 16’s and a drop is the way to go?
  4. Picked up a 2016 Fabia se estate a couple of weeks ago and the 15” alloys just aren’t filling the arches enough. Was originally thinking 16’s but then saw a Fabia on some 17” Camelot wheels and thought it looked great. Searched high and low for some second hand ones but no avail. Spied a nice set of 17” Vrs wheels. Anybody running them on an estate? Also planning to drop the suspension a bit aswell, nothing drastic, maybe 20mm front and 30mm rear. Will this cause clearance issues?
  5. Ok, I have decided it’s 17” wheels I’m after for the Fabia, really like the look of the Camelot wheels on the car. Anybody looking to sell a set? Seen a nice set of 17” VRS wheels (are they called Rays) but I keep going back to the Camelot’s. Got the windows tinted today, planning a wee drop in the ride height aswell. What are people dropping the estate by with 17’s on it? Don’t want it slammed but maybe 20 at the front and 30mm at the rear.
  6. Thanks for the info mate, I’ll have a hunt around for a set it 16” wheels now I know what I’m looking for.
  7. Morning all, I had a 2014 Fabia Monte Carlo Tdi new and kept it 3 years, still the best car I have owned pound for pound. Gave it hell and still got 40 MPG. Anyway after buying a Seat Leon FR estate with DSG then a Clio RS (nice but totally impractical) I’m back in a Fabia Estate with the SE spec. I would have liked a Monte Carlo but budget would not allow. I need the bigger boot for putting my bike in etc, went with the 1.4 Tdi and DSG box, it’s a 2016 66 plate. Already ordered some LED bulbs and windows getting tinted next week, but really fancy upgrading the wheels from 15” to 16”, am I right in thinking I need an ET38 fitment? Also considering dropping it on some springs, nothing too drastic but maybe 20mm at the front and 30mm at the rear. Anybody near Dundee who can fit the springs for me?

  9. Thanks for all the info folks, nice to see another helpful forum for car enthusiasts. I took it for a blast today and no further problems, it was defo smoke coming in to the cabin. I had the rear window de mister on for the first time, also had the fans on but no Aircon. I am putting it down to dpf regeneration.. For now! I'll keep an eye on it though. I prefer the power delivery on diesels, I did consider a petrol but I like my oil burners... For now. Already eyeing up my next car! Octavia VRS or a Golf Gti... Much appreciated though folks. Gave it a clean again today.. Looks great in the red when all cleaned up.
  10. Thanks mate, don't remember the cooling fan being on.. I'm away to take it for a run anyway and see if it does it again. Was smelling again when I stopped there for 2 minutes to check it. I do mostly short journeys so maybe just needs a run. I'll keep an eye on the alarm issue aswell. Thanks mate.
  11. Hello all, Picked up my new red Fabia Monte Carlo 1.6 Tdi 3 weeks ago. Just getting round to registering after lurking a while. Fitted LED interior, number plate, sidelight and DRL bulbs, upgraded headlight bulbs to Osram night breakers (very impressed), fitted new plates and have it a proper clean with Autoglym gubbins then poorboys wax. That's all I have planned for it really, may get some lowering springs on it when I research it a bit more. Enjoy the car so far.. Bar a few dashboard rattles (top glove box rattle driving me mental).. Although I did get a burning plastic smell and smoke in the cabin tonight on way home.. Any ideas? Car history varies from sensible diesel Skoda Fabia's to FN2 Civic Type R's and E46 M3's. M3 wasn't practical as an every day car and I was afraid to leave it anywhere.. Which was proved when somebody dented it in a car park. But my oh my did it cover ground at a phenomenal rate of knots... Still miss it after nearly 8 months! Anyway.. I digress. Hello all and any help on tonight's issue would be appreciated. I'll get a pic up when I work out how to.
  12. Evening all, New member here. Picked up my new Monte Carlo Tdi 3 weeks ago. All been find apart from a few dashboard rattles (top glove box) driving me mental.. Tonight tho as I was approaching home there was a burning plastic type smell in the cabin and smoke coming in from air vents.. I checked for any leaks under car, checked oil level and coolant level, all ok. The area behind the engine block in drivers side was absolutely roasting, turbo wasn't overly hot as it was just a short journey.. Is that the dpf behind there? I locked the car up and the alarm went off aswell, went out and no obvious reason for this.. Ie: cat on car etc. Car was in the drive in a quiet street so no passing traffic.. Any ideas what the smell and smoke was all about? Any help greatly appreciated.
