  1. After working non-stop for 3 weeks I have this weekend off and trying to find something good to do with it, the only events I can find this weekend are pugfest and the goodwood breakfast club? Does anybody know of any other events especially any rally action or old skool ford escort action??

    Cheers

  2. Opened up a letter from ASDA car insurance this morning expecting to find my insurance had dropped now i'm a year older and have 2 years NCB, what do i get?? A letter explaining they will not renew my insurance because they will no longer insure drivers under 21!!!

So i started hunting around the cheapest quote i have had is

  3. My Octavia SLXi Turbo (AGU engine) has just rolled onto 152000 miles, clutch went last month but it was the original clutch. And before that i had a 205 1.6 GTi that at 125000 miles started using more oil than petrol so it had to go.

Does anybody know if merc found a car that had clocked a million miles??

  4. I know that the unmarked octy's on the M3 are fairly common knowledge (silver 54 plate, silver 56 plate) but I have just seen a Black Mk1 vRS GN54PCZ in Basingstoke. Has anyone else seen this one? The guys were wearing the black polo shirts with the black stab vests, is that the normal traffic clothes around here?

That black one is always out and about, i see it on the M3 and A331 regualy, the mk1 silver octavia is reg CX54 BAO.

While were on the subject they also have an unmarked blue saab 95 and a black jag x-type around the M3/M25 area

  5. We got unmarked ones by us 2 black and 1 silver Octy vrs.

The police must chip their cars too, because they go like stink.

Every time i see a police car its going like stink, doesn't mean its chipped.

I know of 2 unmarked mk1 octavias (silver and black) and 2 new octavias (marked and unmarked) in the Farnborough, Hampshire area

  6. I'll start of by saying i'm 19, been driving 2 years now and drive an octy slxi turbo, i've got a clean license and only had 1 minor ding (reversed out of parking space into some idiot who reversed down a one way street- no damage done!)

If they introduced a curfew i wouldn't be able to get to and from work, i'm a chef so i have no choice but to drive to and from work at silly hours of the night/morning. the major round i drive down every day is a well known accident hot spot (known as Pirbright bends).

When i passed my test the it felt very scary to go out in the car on my own for the first time,For months i had my instructor or my mum sat next to me then you pass and your out on your own, i'd never driven at night, on the motorway or in bad weather and its a steep learning curve for the first few months.

I was lucky enough to get given a day on a skid pan course for my birthday and i learnt so much from that day and i think that every person who passes thier test would benefit from some advanced training rather than a curfew. Young people don't only drive like dicks at night and its not just young people that drive like dicks, when bmw and merc drivers learn to use thier indicators the roads will be a better place!!

  7. Did anyone go to the Tempest rally yesterday in surrey/hampshire border area? I spent most of day on the Yately stage, it was a pretty good day loads of scoobys, evos but i was more impressed by the mk1 and mk2 escorts and a metro 6R4!! I was gutted not to see a skoda come round as there was a few last year but it was not part of the british champs this year so the big teams didn't attend.

    did anyone get any pics?
