  1. Is it any good when compared to V12? What are the feature updates btw?
  2. That's interesting! Unless it's not available here in the UK. I've used both parallel and reversing into bay but I'm pretty sure we don't have getting out of bay mode. Does it take you out of parallel or perpendicular bay btw?
  3. Are you sure that's available in SII? Not that I'm aware of.....I know it's available in Oct III & SIII. As far as I know, there are only 2 modes in SII FL - parallel & reversing into bay. Correct me if I'm wrong!
  4. SuperB-NI, where did you get this info from? We all know about the inductive charging but where did you read about frameless rear view mirror (same as Passat too) & additional ambient colour lighting options? Do you work for Skoda by any chance?? Btw, 10 colour options seems a lot if you ask me....even S Class has only 7 colour options so the info doesn't seem to be reliable!
  5. As far as I know, SII does not have 'getting out of bay/parallel park' option. It has only 2 modes - parallel park and reversing in to bay. But Octavia III and SIII should have 3 modes.
  6. Nice ones, Nick....however, the topic should say like this "Lighting and a few Superb pics" :p
  7. Depends how tall you are and of course whether you sit in the lowermost seating position?? SII has a high driving position when compared to other cars in the same segment such as Insignia, Mondeo, Mazda 6 etc.....This means, it's much better to see forward down even when I sit in the lowermost position (I'm 5'9"). After test driving SIII, I have to say that you sit slightly lower than SII but given the technology such as front sensors etc, one should be able to live with it easily. Don't forget Superb is a long car which is 4.85m long and it is slightly longer than your Saab. If you would want to see the bonnet edges so that you are very confident in positioning your car, you need an SUV like Range Rover. But, given the amount of headroom in SIII, you should be able to easily see the bonnet by adjusting the seat and sitting a bit higher.
  8. We've discussed this before several times here. Yes, rear wipers are functional and nobody disagrees but it just spoils the exterior design of SIII. I think SUK have done the right thing here by adding this feature as a 'free option'. If you want, add it and if not, dont! Simples :p Let's not talk about safety and being a mandatory feature. Nobody can drive without headlights and hence mandatory and of course you can live without rear wiper.....Me personally, no rear wiper on SIII.
  9. InfiniteDreamer, do the front parking sensors activate automatically as seen in Passat and other executive cars? In SII, you can activate front ones only by pressing the PDC switch.
  10. Are you the first to own an SIII in England? If so, congratulations and have fun with the new baby.
  11. SIII L&K 190 DSG 4x4 from Lauch Day http://imgur.com/gallery/DS5IF/new
  12. Why don't you test yourself by opening the door against the wall (of course without damaging the door) to see the point of contact. Depending on that, you can stick them on all doors. I have in mine and its more of an aesthetic purpose. I had to stick foam strips in the garage to avoid any damage to the door
  13. Thanks, hpoom. See if this link works: http://imgur.com/gallery/DS5IF/new
  14. I wanted to share few pics of SIII exterior (L&K hatch) taken on Launch day but unable to.....says 'error with file upload'! How else can I attach pictures here? Suggestions plz....In fact each picture is smaller than 2MB but still unable to upload
  15. What do you mean by 'similar to Oct III?' SIII is in a different territory when compared to Oct III in terms of comfort, quality, features, tech and what not! Did you just mean the climate control switches?
  16. My SII L&K with sunroof has sunglass stowage. Yes, I don't remember seeing in SIII L&K with sunroof but the SE L non-sunroof had it.
  17. I agree with the size but I was talking about visibility and how much you can see through between A pillar & wing mirror and also between wing mirror and the the beltline
  18. Yup, I had been to the Launch event this evening. In the showroom, they had SE L hatch & a SE L estate (both were candy white). As a demo car, they had 190 DSG L&K 4x4 hatch which was a grey metallic and it looked absolutely stunning. I did take some pics of the exterior, will share them tomorrow. I managed to take the car for a quick spin - max 50 mile zone only but got a flavour on SIII's improved driving dynamics. My first impressions: Cabin material quality - step up from SII. I think it's on par with new Passat. Lots of soft plastic which had a nice feel to it except for the glovebox area....overall impressed. In fact, the cabin material quality is slightly better than the new XF....trust me! Driving position - slightly lower than SII may be due to higher beltline but still pretty good. Comfortable & all controls/displays within reach. It is a big car but you are able to judge the bonnet edges well. Armrest - centre console is angled yet height adjustable so spot on for me. Same with the door armrest too. Both are well padded (easily better than the new XF) Gear shifter - slightly taller than SII DSG shifter. This could be to potentially avoid clash with bottle/cups within cupholder when trying to use shifter. 8" infotainment - didn't spend more time but very slick/responsive and well within reach. Driving mode & ride comfort - tried comfort & sport mode too. Awesome even on 19" phoenix anthracite....I have to say that this is a significant improvement from SII's 18". Generally very light steering wheel compared to SII and responds well to Sport mode with a change to its character. Ambient lighting - tried all 3 colours when it was getting a bit dark and it did bring the cabin to life. Nice job Skoda. Stowage - you all know about this.....awesome as always. There is no passenger foot-well net any more! Door bins are very usable and same with a massive centre console cubby box. The fireplace stowage (in front of shifter) is quite deep too where we are expecting the wireless charging to be from next year. The boot side pockets are deep too but you will lose the left pocket when you get upgraded Canton system. There is no Row 2 centre armrest stowage any more like SII. Sunglass stowage is slightly bigger than SII. Seats - tried both alcantara (SE L) & leather (L&K). Both are equally good in fact! The seat cushion didn't feel longer than SII although it gives you an impression yet comfy for my stature (175cms). I felt there is more 'cushion tilt' adjustment compared to SII. Rear seats are pretty comfy too....in fact love them, should easily accommodate 3 in Row 2. Cabin noise - my drive was only for 15mins and up to 50mph....didn't feel hugely different from SII...may be due to 19" wheel. Visibility - forward is pretty good as A pillars are slimmer than SII. But the visibility between A pillar & wing mirrors not as good as SII due to SIII's chunky wing mirror design. Less glass & high beltline in SIII compared to SII but no major issues at all. Rear vision is a slight improvement from SII. Door closure quality & the sound is miles better than SII. EPB & auto hold - works pretty good as expected. No more awkward use of conventional hand brake on the wrong side for the RHD markets as in SII. Overall, I'm impressed with our new baby SIII. The exterior design (hatch) is absolutely stunning with the DRL details, LEDs etc...looked awesome at night time. We know the interior is quite conservative yet functional and works pretty well in my opinion. I hope you find this useful......these are general comments based on my observation/experience & a short test drive
  19. That's looking cool. I thought only 4x4's on Sportline variant.......visible chrome exhausts at last....without them it just looks bland Can you get these chrome exhausts on L&K though?
  20. http://indianautosblog.com/2015/09/2016-skoda-superb-2015-chengdu-motor-show-189767 Looks like 1.4 & 1.6....lol....but it's been badged as TSI 330 & TSI 380 for some reason the gold sort of paint is the TSI 380 one but not obvious from these images.
  21. Nope, it's not a mis-type as the badge says 'TSI 380'....sorry unable to upload image now. Will try from home in the eve. Not sure if this variant is only for China though!
  22. Does anyone know about SIII TSI 380 model which has been revealed in Chengdu auto show last week? Could this be 380 bhp / Sportline version of SIII?? I have couple of pictures but unable to share due to some error! Will try again in the eve.
  23. Visible chrome exhausts should be added as standard.....let see what they reveal in Frankfurt
  24. Has anyone tested apple carplay / android auto in SIII yet? Does it work well?
