Thanks for the suggestions. I'm trying a breakers at the moment. If not I'll go the non-auto route to get it through the MOT and try to get an auto switch later. I'm just not very good with electrics so was not sure the different types were interchangeable. There seem to be several about with different serial numbers . Mine is 1Z0941431J and I have seemn them with 431K etc.

Does anyone know if spare parts will still be coming into the country now there are so many problems with customs? I've just had a MoT failure on my L&K Mk 2 estate as the headlight switch will no longer pull out to switch on the fog lights. I'd not had to use it for over a year so hadn't noticed it. Now it seems there are no spares in this country and no idea when they might come in again. I've found a second hand switch in Lithuania (!) but obviously that may also get held up by customs. Has anyone heard of these sort of problems recently? Goes without saying that if anyone out there has a spare auto switch I'd be happy to buy it off them.
