  1. Quick update, V5 came today, so should have it weighed in sometime around thurdsay next week.

Im going to try and source the necessary parts for the 1.4 aft conversion before it goes, so if anyone does need any parts, ill be there at some point to remove them.

If you're not far, any assistance with removing couple of the bits I'm taking would be greatly appreciated and more than enough for you to take anything you need.

  2. Hi Yoss,

They're a nightmare! haha, by the time you get to the last couple, the seal goes, so theres no force resisting against you. I think thats the killer.

    This is the situation,

Im in herts, cars in surrey. its about 70miles from me.

Its on a small residential street, guy sorn's it in september, hadnt been picked up, so rather than lay funds out getting it back to me, I just travelled there, and was going to take the bits I wanted when exchanging funds, and move it on to the scrapper from there. Things didn't go to plan.

Im pretty confident that its safe sitting there, but the previous owner keeps hounding me to shift it, if though I've given him the funds and signed on the dotted line. Even said he'd call the authorities and have them take it. Don't understand it myself but hey ho, at the minute its just leading to me loosing money.

Ill see what I can do,

    Thanks,

    Sean

  3. Hi, apologies for the delayed response.

Man was it a terrible day.

A few things held me back in the morning so didn't get there until gone 13:00.

Cracked straight on with the bumpers, rear came off pretty much hassle free. Most of the nuts/bolts simply snapped they were so brittle.

Whilst there, noticed the exhaust rubber was fresh, and I was in need of one. Turned out the back box itself was pretty recent, so quickly removed that. Boy had a cowboy fitted it! the old clamp was reused, so rusted through though that one of the prongs had sheered off, not even an exhaust paste job. the thing pulled straight off.

With things going well, I move straight to the front. the main four nuts remove fairly easy, then came the ones behind the fog's! Whoever thought putting a cap head bolt threw with one of them dished bumper washers was a tool. The left side had corroded enough that it provided enough resistance against the nut to loosen the thread. The drivers side just kept rolling and rolling.

I set to work inside the car to try and make some progress.

Drivers seat out with no issues, so I move on to he sunroof..

Them screws! Eventually from out of the 15-20 there must have been, I was down to six. A few different heads, and a bit of perseverance and I eventually managed to get down to one or two, but these were in for good, and I hadn't taken a drill. So a fail on that one, sorry.

During the breaks between seized screws, I began on the drivers door, I was pretty certain that I had located the central locking motor (large black contraption tucked into the bottom right corner?) This was tucked right down in to the panelling however, and I couldn't for the life of me work out what sequence of removal was required to free it. So again, that ones a no, sorry. Although I'm pretty sure after testing it, that the drives side wasn't functioning.

Didn't get round to the steering wheel, apologies. Tackling an airbag in a rush wasn't something I fancied jumping in to, as I haven't handled one before.

Ended up snapping the rear fastening bracket to the drivers fog, but wiped out a the headlight lens in the process!.

Whilst all of this went on, The scrapper turned up an hour early, said it was meant to be a toyota?! Said he'd come back, never did, driver hung up when called, boss said Id started stripping it so it was no good. Everything was said on the phone that morning!

By this point, its 16:30, no where wants it again, scrap metal merchant needs 3 days, only other person willing wouldn't lay out funds, but they'd collect free.

    So, to summarise,

I left the scene with Uma's drivers seat, two bumpers, and a back box.

Meanwhile, I still have a felicia sitting dormant, awaiting its fate.

Sorry that i wasn't able to succeed with your requests, it just wasn't my day!

  4. Acquired a felicia in the south last week. Petworth to be precise.

Only needed a few parts from it, namely both bumpers, and the instrument panel; along with perhaps a few minor things.

Battery is dead, drivers key barrel rolls, small amount of mould formed amongst the interior.

Fairly tidy shell, no serious surface rust that i can remember, but a few of the crevices seemed to have started suffering possibly.

Only looking for scrap money, or I can remove parts on request. Has to go by the end of Monday.

Its a Silver 1.6 Petrol Facelift.

Thought it'd be worth voicing it rather than sending it straight to crusher.

    Let me know,

    Kind Regards,

    Sean
