  1. 3k seems like a lot for DCC and a remap;) OK and the brakes. I wonder what else... Faced with the choice which would you take ?
  2. The webasto might make it more saleable... but... it's a grand... it only heats the cabin... I would like to read some threads where people explain the remote control and how it works - and that it actually works... and aftermarket cheap fan heaters are really popular here - because pretty much anyone who has a 40k car here has at least an off street parking space with an electric post on a timer (some exceptions for city dwellers). The websato would also add a grand to either/both options here so is not a factor in the decision. When you say different engine maps - do you mean it's the same engine just tuned?

I feel dirty coming back here to the Enyak forum. Because, sorry... my test drive was great. It was really fun to drive. The sales guy couldn't get the GPS to give me a sensible route and charge option so that wasn't ideal - demo effect! - but the experience with the car was great. But... I can't face the long winter journeys knowing now that it would mean two stops and the uncertainty about charger availability and time. Plus here (in Finland) they (the dealers) are totally failing at selling the total offer. I am totally bewildered about the home charging possibilities and it is all way too much to worry about for me. I started this journey thinking PHEVs were a waste of time and a temporary patch... but my few weeks seriously considering the Enyak have sent me running into the arms of the Octavia PHEV. Basically I can have "the Octavia of my dreams" including enough electric range to do school and hobby daily driving, avoid holiday and winter range anxiety, and even get a VRS badge, and come away spending much less the Enyak... and not have to worry about home charging upgrades. So, yeah sorry, but I am heading back to the Octavia forum (and their iV software problems that I will avoid but not taking the driving assist nonsense... I hope... ;))
  4. I'm looking at a choice between these two models and I don't quite get the differences. Bear in mind I am not in the UK (Finland) so some things are included standard here. Matrix headlights, heated front seats are included in both. I have no interest in lane assist or HUD. Blind spot detection is not available here at the moment. The webasto heater is popular here but I have a heated garage. I will be home charging from house leccy overnight and in the daytime as I work from home. The sportline looks like the UK's SE (no chrome trim) but includes interior and extras that make it the most expensive trim level (bar the VRS) in the Finnish offering. So... Octavia iV estate 1.4TSI VRS PHEV 180kw - + heated rear seats, tinted rear windows, 3-zone clima, tow bar ready, simply clever, 19" altairs - €45 443 Octavia iV estate 1.4TSI sportline PHEV 150kw - + heated rear seats, tinted rear windows, 3-zone clima, tow bar ready, simply clever, 19" taurus - + front fog lights and Columbus €42 571 This is as close as I can get the cars in the build your own online - and both in grey - they look close to identical - the differences AFAIK are the VRS upholstery, DCC (€725 to add to the sportline), red brake calipers, sportline/VRS badges, tiny styling differences front and rear... and that 30KW extra power. -So, can you explain to me what differences I am missing, where the extra power comes from if they are both 1.4 TSI, are there advantages/disadvantages in the engines, any other thoughts on that 3k price difference? (oh and I will get a sportline test drive for the weekend in the morning, so anything to look for, any thoughts appreciated)

(I’ll try and edit the title so this stays about lights...) Crystal Face then? On one hand the front grille IMHO is a weak design spot on the car. The lights are certainly a statement. An aftermarket grille might be more up my street, thinking about the Octavia honeycomb and things like that... at some point maybe there will be aftermarket options, maybe. in the meantime, who has the C Face, is it tough enough to survive years of gritty slush, and what are the control options, is it just on/off or...?
  6. Can't find a thread on this and it's not mentioned in the Skoda as far as I can find. I get the 8 year warranty on the battery. But what about future upgrade/replacement? What's Skoda's intention here, are the batteries designed to be replaced if there is significant improvement in the tech, is that unrealistic given the battery cost vs vehicle cost, or what is the expected trajectory as Enyaks reach 80-120k on the clock, battery performance declines and newer battery tech might be available...?

Seems the Sportline here comes with the Matrix headlights and better rear LEDs. One thing about the lights that confused me on the test drive was the coloured light options in the display. There was some kind of disabled message. What is that feature - is it the door strips, is changeable colour standard?
  8. Hello! Great info on here. I’m close to ordering up here in Helsinki, after an Octavia 2 and 3 over the last 8 years. I am looking at an intriguing offer, discounted about 2k to get under our local 50€k threshold for triggering a 2k govt incentive. Also a good offer on my Oct3 valid for the 6-7 month delivery wait. 80, heat pump and 125 charging included standard here. I’ve added the tow mount, climate+, family+, convenience+, transport. I could not live without the electric boot! 19s. Interestingly I wanted quartz grey but was told the colours are changing so the new graphite grey instead. Also I was told no blindspot warning option due to chip shortage. Here we typically have a second set of winter studs but I left those off to get aftermarket. But... I realise that I really want the sportline without the chrome. Let’s see if I can negotiate that! The doubts I have are around potential changes to the govt incentives (might go up and include zero purchase tax from 1.1) and cold range. My long trips are up north in winter, maybe minus 20 and 450km, fully loaded, ski box, fam of 4 and the cats. If a 50kw charge can be pre-booked while the fam eats all good. I worry I am being unrealistic. Shared garage for home charging. Domestic leccy now, but already spec’d for 7.4kw charge points - installation maybe end 22. With the packages, I turned off the HUD in the test drive, not a fan. The lights upgrade though - any thoughts on that, given I live in the land of the midnight sun - and eternal darkness for 6 months of the year?
  9. I am in Helsinki, close to pulling the trigger, quoted 6-7 months for the 80. And I am mentally prepared ot could take longer.
