  2. hi

i know it might be a long shot but was wondering it any vrs owners in westbury or fabia's with alloy wheels could loan me a go of their alloy wheel key?

lost mine, sure last time i seen it was when local challenge changed the tyres on the front, been there they was adament they put it in my hand after ??

they have never done this, have always put it back in car themselves.

searched all over car no where to be seen ;-(

    help.

  3. hi, just a quick question, my temp gauge hardly ever gets to '90' it sits just below.

only a couple of times i have seen it be at '90'.

also the heater does not really blow really hot? on full any way.

does any one know whats going on with it?

    thanks in advance.

  4. i bought a golf tdi at an auction couple of years ago on  whim, was cheap as chips because it had this sort of problem, so took to a mates garage for them to do the head gasket ect.

he called me back to say who ever put it in the auction had already done the head gasket and even renewed the head ect, he said there seems to be a problem with the block :-(

surfice to say i got my money back on the resale to someone who was willing to go down the route of engine swap.

  5. hi all, yesterday changed the droplinks on the vrs because had a lot of knocking going on, was advised on here by some guys to change them.

i can not believe it! its sorted lol, am surprised they cause all that misery !!

thanks for the advice, its a great site. ;-)

happy xmas and new year to all...

  6. I'm not a legal expert but the problem you have is proving that the previous owner did the terrible thing, he can simply claim he had no idea that this bolt was glued in place when he sold it to you and that he sold it in good faith.

You know he's lying and I know he's lying but the law is about what you can prove, therefore you'll just have to swallow it and be glad it didn't cause an accident.

yes he told me he replaced the bushes, which would of envolved removing console bolt! can not prove anything like you said.

gargage was flabbergasted how i made it to them!

just got to swallow a lot of costs and get on with it :notme:

i like the car, its got nice power and feels like a bigger car than it is which is good.

since new consoles have been done i still get a knocking from bumps in the road/speedbumps ect, garage said roll bar bushes?

:rain:  it will soon be perfect :x

  7. ok, what was going to be a cost saving exercise is turning into a money pit :dull:

bought the fabia vrs because its cheaper to run than the bmw 325 i had and it is.

it had a problem with the console on the wishbone as the previous owner decided to glue the console bolt in  , it was coming out and lucky i got to a garage in time!!

in turn it balded the front tyre so had to re-replace as only just replaced them :'( .

had to replace the front speakers as passenger front was blown. ebay specials done the trick!

so end of last week the radiator decided to start leaking, just got it replaced, could of done it myself but with the cold weather could not be bothered, got my pants pulled down a bit on the price but its done now and hope thats the end of my wallet taking a hammering.

any one else have issues that seem to be never ending?

  8. Longer bolt into never-used but always exposed to the environment threads that are guaranteed to have corroded...Hmmm.

Suppose I might consider it if I was about to sell the car to someone I didn't like.

hmmm, i never met the bloke i bought the car off that done this job himself, perhaps he met me and instantly did not like me??

  9. ^^ yes thanks for that, took to the garage this morning, they tried to get one from the motor factors they use but no joy.

so said i could get one off ebay you guys pointed me to and he said no rpoblem he would fit it ect and do it for cash

just got to wait for it to come.

he was not impressed that the guy sold me the car the way it is. tbf could this of happened if i hit the speed bumps round here to hard?

i.e stripped the thread snapped the bolt ?
