  1. Out of interest, is the check valve the same as the Coolant Shut-Off Valve (N82) please?
  2. Hi Gaz, Thanks for the heads-up. Was hoping for something much less interesting and serious than that but reading through it makes sense. Will get the car home after work and make some inquiries. Andy
  3. Hi, hoping someone can please assist - my heater takes ages to start sending through warm air. The blower itself is fine and once the heat comes it works fine, just the weird delay. Checked and couldn't find any silica bag (despite the reservoir noting 'Mit Silikat') , no coolant loss and car temperature is fine. Doesn't quite fit the symptoms of a heater control valve or thermostat issue. Any thoughts greatly appreciated - heading toward winter here. Hope the lock down is treating you well.
  4. Yes it's a real word. More evidence that scouts are a waste of money - can't even cross a fast flowing river. https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/111985260/franz-josef-truck-ferry-shuts-down-after-authorities-warn-of-safety-risk
  5. Have had 3 punctures now and the TPMS has warned every time before there is any visible loss of air. Gold.
  6. Hi - just FYI for those interested. PITA mid-summer air con failure, took me back to the days of open windows at high speeds (but with the car telling me this was not good for economy!). Below fix details, took them 2 full days and luckily I was in the final week of warranty. Interestingly on asking about the work, I was told the compressor installed was an updated part as the original has been superseded. I asked if the superseded part was a common fault and told no...??...
  7. Looks good but what is a 'CD'? Is it a new form of MP3?
  8. This is purely a personal taste thing. If you like it, go for it. One thing, it'll never get dirty unlike my candy white.
  9. Hey mate, no not yet. Literally just managed to sell the other one so will start looking to the next mod now. The Spulen mount put me off a bit to be honest so the next mod is likely to be more aesthetic. Keen on some spacers but unsure if the LVV is worth the hassle - have you been on that journey?
  10. Warm water for fabric and Meguiar's Gold Class Leather Conditioner for the leather (seems to clean and condition).
  11. Thanks for the info. Looks like a good compromise. Will sell mine and give that one a whirl I think. Cheers
  12. Hi. Had the same problem. Installed a SPULEN Dog Bone Engine Mount Insert Kit and it made a massive difference to launch, reduced wheel spin and the banging. Incredible that such a minor and inexpensive mod can have such an impact. Unfortunately, the vibration at idle even after a settling in period drove me insane so removed it.... It's a family car afterall. For sale (in NZ) if anyone wants to give it a bash. 5 minute install.
  13. Should be able to see some heavier scratching on the disc as well if it's a stone. Terrible noise.
  14. Mine are constantly overinflated from the dealer. First service last week and when I got home I did the now standard check of tyres and fluids. Deflated the tyres a bit, drained 1 litre of oil they had over filled the engine by and 50-100ml of coolant for the same reason. Crap for $500
  15. Hi. Feel your pain. While stationary in two lanes of traffic a motorcyclist speed between the rows and just clipped my wing mirror. The black pack casing flew off as did the motorcyclist. Though only minor damage, the darker side of me wishes he had hit it harder so his face had had a close encounter with the road but hey, not angry anymore. To business, I got out and collected the casing and once home found the clips were all broken on the casing the front frame bracket - check this properly as you'll probably find you need the frame/bracket part too. Fortunately the indicator was fine. Ordered the parts that night off superskoda - 13euro for the frame/bracket and 45 for the black pack shell (rip off). 98 euro total as the shipping to NZ is also the same price as the parts. There's a good youtube video of how to pull it all apart so you'll be sweet.
  16. Might differ slightly between continent but I've got a regular service in a fortnight (2 yrs or 30K kms). They tell me it includes; Replacing engine oil and filter Carrying out safety checks on brakes, steering, tyres and suspension Checking and topping up any fluids that are low Free of charge wash and vacuum Carrying out any available software updates-extra charge (MY FAVOURITE BIT; In regards to the software update, for the Skoda’s there will be an extra fee to have this done which can range from anywhere from $60-$1200. The price that would be charged for an update will not be clear until the vehicle is looked at by our technicians).
  17. Hi - not being funny (ok maybe a little) but perhaps the below replacement would be suitable? http://www.uspmotorsports.com/Volkswagen--Golf-GTI-Rabbit--MK7--2015--2.0T/Engine/Oil-Service/Steel-Oil-Pan-Conversion-Kit.html
  18. That's it mate, take the plung. Installed in no time and have had no bothers. Good luck
  19. Hi Wakey. Yes I added the delete. Think there was some very subtle increase in spooling sound but certainly not enough for me to make a recommendation to people. Recording wouldn't pick it up. Likewise with the performance increase - you always tend to press a little harder after any install anyway. Easy to install/remove and I have no regrets
  20. Negligible performance improvements on a car like this so yes probably overkill. I installed the milotec diffuser as the back of the O3 IMHO is a bit bland compared to the front. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/334312-what-mods-have-you-done-to-your-car/?p=4522420
  21. I would just use the light version. Have used on my candy white and nothing (i've used before) beads like this stuff. Well worth the money and paint stripping smell it will leave you with. Some consider it a sealer so suggest waxing then applying fusso. Can be difficult to buff but jst don't leave on too long. Worst issue is when washing your car you can't get any water to sit on it as it just falls off i.e. need loads of suds.
