£115 all in from Admiral, being done on Thursday at my home, with no effect on no claims.
-
Had one on my Diesel VRS, took it off, went into limp mode pretty much every journey.
The pedal box is well worth the money though.

Went out today (Halnaker Trail if you were interested) was putting the boys back in the car when a BMW (obviously) shot past at a ridiculous speed and launched a stone, which smashed my read quarter window. In most ways I'm grateful as my sons head was about 30cm to the right of the impact, but I do still have a smashed window.
Haven't had the chance to talk to insurance (Admiral) yet, but I was going to look into options, as I don't really want to risk no claims bonus etc. Although being non-fault and glass, it could be an under the radar job.
Other options are:
Do it privately, but I can't find any prices hinted at, anyone got a clue as to what it would cost?
Do it myself, seem to be able to get the glass for about £60 on Ebay, but the tutorials I've seen look pretty daunting with heat guns and cutting. Plus the ones on Ebay look more hacked off than carefully removed.
Anyone got any experience, with a similar situation?

Thanks, that would explain my issue then. Looking I'd thought I'd be able to get everything for £100ish, looks closer to £200.
I'd seen the inbay tray, but the AliBaba options are half the price, which is where I was thinking I'd missed a compatible piece.- 1

I've searched and couldn't find specific links or information, apologies if I missed it.
I think it it's time to make my VRS wireless, so I'm after a QI charging tray and wireless CarPlay dongle.
I can find loads of QI trays on AliBaba, AliExpress and Ebay, but can't find one that specifically says Octavia - loads for VWs, but wasn't 100% sure they are the right one.
Dongle-wise, someone (Sasha?) said that it needs to be MIB compatible, but again, none of the dongles I've seen specifically say this.
Could anyone share links to the relevant bits of kit.
Thanks
In other news, after 15 months in a box, I finally managed to fit the Rieger rear diffuser! Hopefully the QI will be a speedier process.

I had a DTUK Tuning box for a while, ended up taking it off as I was bored of limp mode - on all settings that made any noticeable difference. The pedal box however is well worth the money.

Time for a new number plate, water ingress from the top and stress discolouration around the screws, it detracts from what looks to be a very tidy car.
First thing I did to my car, I've never liked dealer plates.

Just had an oil change and they advised me that there appeared to be a small leak from around the cam belt.
As I had this changed in November when the water pump failed, I wondered if this would be classed as a fitting error, or if it's on me?
As I really don't want to fork over another load of moeny for them to get back at the cam-belt.
Any advice?

It's part 22 on this link:
https://nemigaparts.com/cat_spares/etka/volkswagen/goe/774/721700/Some sort of securing ring.
Part #5Q2 721 431
On another forum:
"They [Dealers] agreed that it is the locking thread from the clutch pedal. "
Sounds like something that should probably be fixed before I drive too far...

Cheers, that wouldn't cover the damage on mine though I'm afraid.

Late to the party, but to remove such things, I've always found that getting some fishing line in and sawing your way through the adhesive works well.
What protector did you go for?
As my VRS has acquired a scratch on the lip, so I'm now after a glossy protector that goes over the lip slightly, can't seem to find one.

Has anyone had them on whilst having window tint film on? If so, did they damage the film at all?
Film is on the inside isn't it? The reflectors only touch the outside, so they'll never come into contact.
The clips are the only part that the film could maybe touch, but they shouldn't as they only touch the top of the glass, especially as most people don't seem to bother using them.

I've got a Nespresso one which seems to fit quite nicely.

My Rieger diffuser arrived today!
Gonna try & fit this at the weekend.
However, even though I specified the TDI version, there is no exhaust pipe extension supplied.
Not a great problem, as I can get my hands on some heat shield material, but is this something that was in the polythene bag or box?
I had that too, took quite a few emails to get it sent over.
That was after they sent me two front splitters instead of a front and a rear.

I was told that unless you have 100% up to date and 100% Skoda service record, then you won't get anything from them.
Got stung for £480.

I spoke to Jonathon Lawless at www.carfile.net to get mine, he was very helpful.
Smaller company, so much more personal.

Never understood why it has a vRS button but no vRS drive mode.

At least Skoda give you good warning, I used to have a Seat Ibiza that gave you about 20 miles from the light coming on to having to phone a friend.

Has anyone with a blue vRS wrapped the door handles in black to match the front spoiler, rear diffuser etc?
I think you may have just added to a few peoples To-Do list...

I'm sure I'll be corrected if wrong, but I thought they only came in Dark Grey* and Black (on the 230 and 245) with diamond cut detailing.
* I can't remember the fancy name they use for dark grey.

Update:
In overnight as they broke the lamdba sensor when putting everything back together. So they've ordered another one, no charge to me obviously.
Got a courtesy Rapid for the night, it appears to have been named ironically...
Was actually £489, not £495. -

£300 from an indy, with the uprated VW pump and timing belt replaced.
The water pump is a known issue, especially on earlier 2013/4 1.6 tdis. You may or may not get any 'goodwill' from Skoda if you try, some report they do, others not as the car is now 4/5 years old.
You need a full Skoda history, otherwise they won't even bother filling out the paperwork.
Mine is in the Skoda garage right now having this exact thing done. £495 all in.My indy quoted £515 for the same job as Skoda sell themselves parts cheaper than they do to others.

Had one for a while, took it off. Every journey was in limp mode.
Save some money and just buy the pedal box until you go for the remap.
