  1. +1. Fuses would be my first check as well. Just a bit of info, on other VAG cars the wipers become inactive when the bonnet is open to prevent damage by the wiper arms to the edge of the bonnet itself. As you have mentioned that you had just filled the washer bottle the bonnet must have been opened. I may be worth just opening the bonned again, apply some lubrication to the catch and close it firmly as if it is not fully engaged then the car my still think the bonnet is ajar and wont allow the wipers to work..... Worth a try . If no joy with that it will be a check for fault codes deal.....
  2. Thanks for the replys guys. Danny57 - Car was purchased from an independent dealer with a 3rd party warranty (car has done 78k and is 3 years and 4 months old) however it does not cover electric/memory seats (surprise, surprise). If the dealer was local to me I would have taken it back and had a good winge at them to get them to fix it, but they are a 250 mile round trip so didnt really fancy that. Plus I prob had a better shot at fixing it than they did as they didnt even know the full spec of the car when I bought it (had to explain to the salesman that the button with the steering wheel and a 'P' was for the park assist, and how to use it). silver1011 - Thanks for your comments. I am always reluctant to take my cars to the dealers for that reason (my last mk6 Golf went in for a juddering fault, 5 weeks and £3k in parts later it came out exactly the same (under VW warranty thank god!!!)). I have found VCDS to be one of the best tools I have ever purchased, yes it is expensive for the initial outlay but when you learn how to us it to its full potential it is fab. Plus in the 3.5 years it has paid for itself many times over doing work for others as well. Thanks again guys. greenlinerII
  3. Hello to all, I am a new user to this forum having taken delivery of my Superb Elegance estate on 4th Jan, and I am loving it so far. Anyway, after a 4 hour round trip to pick the car up I started to have a play at setting up the car to my liking and at this point I discovered that the drivers memory function was not storing the seat positions at all (no confirmation bong for storing new seat position). After doing alot of searching on the web and not finding much help I decided to have a play with VCDS. Tested the memory buttons using VCDS and established that they were all working ok, also the seat would still go to the previous owners position on buttons 1 and 2. Loaded up the seat controller (36) and found that there was an error for the seat adjustment (code 01902) that would not clear and there was no info in the RossTech wiki page to offer any ideas. After having a play with the settings for the controller I found that there is a reset for the seat adjustment parameters in the adaptation menu for the controller so here is a quick how to for anyone having a similar issue. Open up VCDS. Select control module screen Open Drivers memory seat controller (36) Go into Adaptation (10) From the drop down menu select the seat adjustment reset. Change the value as indicated and save to perform the reset. (This causes several fault codes to come up as the seat motors have no basic settings) Exit the adaptation screen. Open the Measuring Blocks (08) Load groups 001, 002 and 003 (this displays the button postions and the readings for the motors for the seat) Motor the seat to the min and max positions for all adjustments (inc lumbar) and hold the buttons for about 2-3 sec when it has reached its full stop position. When you do the last one you should hear a confirmation tone from the car and the values displayed in VCDS should all change to 0. Your drivers seat should now be able to store the required memory positions. Hope this helps anyone having a simillar problem
  4. Hi to all, I am a new Skoda owner but have had many cars from the VAG family for many years and been active on the relevant forums, most recently UK Passats and VWFORUM, having just sold my MK6 Golf estate. I have now taken delivery of a very nice 2011 Skoda Superb Elegance 1.6 Greenline II Estate in Amethyst with Onyx leather and so far so good. Love the space and the spec as I managed to find an elegance with some decent extras (Heated rear seats, MDI, Park Assist, Sunset Glass, Auto dimming mirrors and Wood Trim). I am a seasoned VCDS user (Licenced version) and have already done some playing with the Superb. So far I have enabled Hill hold, XDS, Large digital speedo on DIS, Auto back slide on drivers seat and memory function for front heated seats. I think next will be to change some bulbs to LED's. If anyone needs any VCDS work feel free to get in touch. Thanks
