  1. Can people put the mileage of the failure on as well? Just to see if it's a random fault or a mileage issue.
  2. tailgate strut, nearside rear damper, door seals. So far that's it! '15 plate vrs estate with 29k miles
  3. I've just done a similar route on my motorcycle, to fully enjoy the roads leave the dog at home drop into the nurburgring for a lap as well, it runs the new car in great, I did it with mine
  4. From my local main dealer £1700 for wheels only!! Gobsmacked was I! Lol!
  5. I notice my windows are more prone to misting up when I haven`t cleaned them in a while. Like the 2 posters above, give them a good clean and see how it goes
  6. The vRS is indeed a good Q car, especially a stage 1 mapped petrol Boy racer thinks he`s dealing with a 184bhp diesel but 300 of your finest horsepowers get unleashed to crush his ego lol! :D Mines not mapped tho :(
  7. I`ve not been impressed with my 001`s either, just got a pair of conti SC5`s and swapped the rears to the front to wear out. 12.5 k miles with just over 2mm left. Ready to also be tested in this fine Cumbrian weather Don`t know if anyone does but if you`re shopping for tyres check out kwick fits website, they did the conti SC5`s far cheaper than anywhere else inc ringing my local branch! £93 fitted etc for 18`s at the moment
  8. Double check theres nothing loose in any of the boot nooks and crannies, a workmate a few years ago had his car into the garage for an irritating knocking noise for them to fish out an errant golf ball lol!
  9. I could do with them sliding back a touch more and having the whole seat tilt as well, looks like the electric seats possibly have more adjustment. Can anyone confirm?
  10. I had a diesel for the past 7 years but when I test drove the Skoda the petrol engine was far better imo. I`m even getting between 35-40mpg and the engine is a peach, very flexible from 1k to 6500rpm. Looking on these forums as well the diesel seems to throw up more problems than the petrol. I`m very happy with my choice :sun:
  11. Probably cos you`re in Australia lol! :sun:
  12. Months up to press! stays on for up to 10 washes. I used it on my old Volvo and it was equally impressive
  13. What bloody good stuff it is! 2nd time I`ve used it on the vRS and the water runoff is excellent and lasts ages. Did a test with some Armor all wax compared to the shield on the bonnet and the shield lasts far better and beads faster! Why use anything else???
  14. I wouldn`t touch it with a barge pole, put some in my RS Turbo years ago and very shortly after the turbo went, I`m convinced it blocked the oil feed. Plenty of stuff on the internet slating it
  15. another vote for the sunroof, makes the interior so much lighter and nice to open it up full in nice weather. It was expensive but I honestly don`t regret speccing it on my car
  16. Nice bit of kit but I don`t think I`d be too bothered for $200
  17. I`ve a couple of thule 591 carriers for the roof racks, really good and just as easy to put on than getting the bikes in the back of the car http://www.thule.com/en/gb/products/carriers-and-racks/bike-carriers/roof-mounted-bike-carriers/thule-proride-591-_-591018
  18. and with a 4 mile commute I`d buy a bike as well to do it on, you won`t even get the coolant up to temp never mind the oil!
  19. I agree, but I prefer bigger front brakes and 20" wheels if they can fit them to an Astra
  20. About 11 1/2 mins I think This was the 2nd time I`d been round, the first time was on my Triumph Tiger 1050 loaded with camping kit I`d recommend it just do a bit of homework before you go re `Ring etiquette, overtaking, indication, keep right when being overtook etc. Plenty of sites on the net to look at. Don`t even pretend you know where you`re going on the track because there`s corners that will catch you out as you crest a hill thinking they go one way and they go the opposite Just enjoy it and keep a good eye on your mirrors as there`s fast stuff there piloted by people who know where they are going
  21. I`ve just landed back from a camping holiday in Germany, down near Todnau. Had a lap of the Nurburgring (got the sticker ) and a blat up to 130mph on the Autobahn had more to go but it was starting to get a bit busy :( The vRS was loaded down with 2 of us, camping gear and 2 mountain bikes and still had enough space for me to use the rear view mirror! What a fantastic car! averaged 35.6 mpg over the full journey which imo is fantastic. The performance on the `Ring was brilliant, great brakes, handling and performance with all and sundry driving 911`s, GTR`s and M cars passing me Comfort was good but could`ve done with another couple of inches leg room for me and the vRS seats were extremely comfortable for the last days 7hr drive back to Zeebrugge All in all a brilliant car and can`t say that I regret signing on the dotted line for my first new car :D
