Ok thanks, I do 25-35k year.. so generally it's good for it... I would say about every 50-150 miles between regens which is almost every day.. I'll try some cleaner stuff and give her some loud pedal (once up to 100 oil temp of course)

My car seems to be doing regens loads recently... Is this because of the mileage on the car? (109k) I assume that the dpf has more ash in it so it will block up quicker? Car has been amazing, and only problem ever was the water pump. When the dpf finally needs replacing one day, would I be right in thinking the regens will be less often again? Thanks. (Proud to be on the original brakes too!)

Rear Bumper Protector - Removal
pdtrewern replied to Mence's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I almost shed a tear removing mine.. I had to get the new one on quick, as looking at the state of the bumper after removal is horrid! Allow at least an hour... -

Upgraded suspension help
pdtrewern replied to pdtrewern's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Got you.. I see Larkspeed do B8 shortened "Comfort" shocks that are green not yellow.. I put the pro kit on for looks and not so much handling, so comfort sounds good! -
Upgraded suspension help
pdtrewern replied to pdtrewern's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Thanks for the replies. You are right, they are available, I have found them now on a desktop PC, I couldn't scroll down far enough on my mobile to oct 3 combi, so though it was just hatchback availability.. Recommend any uk suppliers for Bilstein B6? Also, am I damaging the std shocks by running it like this, or just unpleasant when loaded? -
Hi all, my vrs diesel estate dsg (64 reg) has now done 92k, and had the pro spring kit fitted around 5k ago.. However, when I have a far bit of weight on board (airport run etc), it does crash a bit into bumps etc, I am trying to work out if I can get some better shocks/dampers... everyone seems to rate bilstein, but the website doesn't list anything for the Octavia 3? Not sure if the springs have meant the current original dampers can't cope, or they are just tired..? Any help appreciated! PS, Other than the water pump failure at 85k, it has been faultless, great car.

The alignment is expensive because of the lane assist I would guess.. I believe it has to be tied in with camera calibration.. -
Sorry, Sold now...

Any updates on this lot? -
That looks splendid! However I worry about the dsg going wrong standard, let alone at 225/x lb ft. Jealous of the 4x4, must be fun in the snow!

Late diesels got smaller front discs, although they may not be important to you.. I have flat bottom wheel on a 64 if that helps -
FWD LSD or 4WD? Which is better?
pdtrewern replied to pdtrewern's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Thank for the reply's so far.. Out of interest, does the 4wd take up any boot space and retain the spare wheel... I use even some small, storage around the spare.. -
I'm not changing my derv vrs at the moment, but one annoying thing about it is its lack of traction (not helped by weight in boot I know). I wondered, is FWD with an lsd almost as good as 4wd as they don't have a lsd on either axle (The VAG system anyway). Shovelling some torque to the rear will help as that's where a car squats under acceleration, but a good lsd on a 2wd must be almost as good or not? Debate!

Flat bottomed steering wheel

Whilst I don't carry particularly heavy items in the boot, I do use my car for work so load my tools up each time. What's annoying is the car does squat slightly leaving a healthy arch gap at the front but not so much on the rear and the look bothers me a little... Like for towing, is there some way of strengthening the rear? Do the police cars have updated suspension ? In nascar they use "packers" perhaps this would work? Any input appreciated!
