  1. Thanks guys, this works really well. Seems a bit obvious now, but I just assumed it was tied to the Skoda system
  2. Maybe I'm just not using it properly, but I don't care for the Skoda voice command system on my new Octavia. Using my phone via Android Auto is a much better experience. But it's a shame to always have to say 'ok google' when my steering wheel has a voice command button. Maybe this is a stupid question, but Is there a setting which will allow the button to completely ignore the built in system and link to Android Auto instead?
  3. It would be very nice. Android Auto is great, but I don't like constantly having a lead plugged into my phone
  4. Is not absolutely flawless, but it's pretty close in terms of the paint. The marks on the front are mostly dirt from 3 days of motorway driving since bringing it home. The colour while very nice, is likely going to be a pain to keep clean. Any bit of dirt shows up annoyingly clearly There is a mark on the back of the driver seat and a chip in the leather steering wheel. But still, A used car is never going to be perfect, and considering the low mileage and very reasonable price compared to a new Octavia or even Fabia, I'm very pleased with the condition.
  5. I mentioned last week that I was thinking of buying a 2019 Octavia SE Technology. Here it is: I'm more than a little obsesed with this car. It's 3 years old, but I swear there isn't a single mark on it. I had never heard of a Denim Blue car before, but I love the colour. I have had a Citigo and we still have a 2018 Fabia. I was surprised how different the Rabia feels to the Octavia inside. The Citigo was cheap and cheerful and whilst the Fabia drives nicely, I have always felt it was very basic from day 1. I imagine I will never be able to keep it as shiny and pristine as it currently is (though I'd like to try) so I'm enjoying it whilst it lasts. It's not all perfect though, I'm glad I wasnt the one that paid extra for the Skoda sat Nav etc, the one I get from my phone via Android auto is much better, same with the voice controls etc.
  6. Picking it up tomorrow. £235 to insure it was a pleasant surprise
  7. I was happy with the price I agreed for a 2019 SE Technology with under 13000 miles . The car is like new for a good price - though even after I played hard ball, the dealer would only drop a few hundred below sticker price But I have seen other garages list 2015 octavias with 50k miles and a lower spec for not much less than I am paying for mine
  8. Should be picking it up on Thursday. Very excited
  9. It has adaptive cruise control. Apparently it changes speed automatically. Having never used cruise control, I feel nervous about the idea of this system
  10. It does have GPS and the entertainment system is a hell of an improvement than the one on my 2018 Fabia though that isn't hard Paid the deposit today. Car costs well under 12k and I got a bank loan which was a lot better than any HP price. Very pleased with it overall, The 13 thousand miles must have been very gentle, followed by a long stay in a car park during Covid, as the car is pristine insight and outside. I think the denim blue is very nice. Never had cruise control or front and rear parking sensors before either.
  11. Hello, I have agreed a deal for a 2019 Octavia SE Technology. I used to have a Citigo, I currently have a Fabia, I guess I've accidently become a true Skoda fan. I don't have a great passion for them, I just think they are nice to drive and very reliable. I still prefer the Citigo over any of them though...mad that its been discontinued. Now that im 30 I was looking for an 'adult' car to take to work etc, I have looked at a few options (the C3 is cool!) but a Octavia does seem a sensible option Just wondering: 1- What do you think of the SE technology model 2. What do you think would be a good price for a 1 litre 2019 model with under 15,000 miles? Interested to hear suggestions as I haven't mentioned my deal. Thanks!
  12. I was tempted to have a go at it myself, but I took it to the garage in the end. They did it for £25 plus VAT, left the car off about 10 and had it back by lunch. They did a nice neat job, you can only see an inch or two of cable peaking out right above the mirror. It turns on and starts recording the second I turn the engine on. It switches to its own battery when I turn the car off, but im sure there is a setting I can change that will turn it off when it loses mains power.
  13. Doesn't sound normal to me, my Fabia arrived at the docks in the UK on the 10th and I picked it up on Tuesday
  14. I think that this is going to be the extent of the "mods" I add to my new Fabia. Think this is supposed to be a very good cam. I feel like I could just about manage to fit the hardwire kit, but I have never even touched a car fusebox, trim etc in my life. A local garage says they will do it for £30, so I think il just get them to do it properly
