  1. VWFS excess mileage now depends on engine capacity rather than just a flat rate. I snapped up one of the £107.99 a month Golf GTI lease deals in November on the same day the rates changed so having to pay 9p + VAT per mile, whereas on my 18 month old vRS it's the old 6p + VAT.
  2. Hi all, my vRS is due to be handed back in March next year and sadly I have a few bits of damage that exceeds the fair wear and tear guidelines. Does anyone have any experience with how reasonable the prices Skoda will charge upon return of the vehicle, or is it better to get them repaired prior to return of the vehicle? Cheers.
  3. I'm currently on Pirelli P-Zero, which are far better and more durable in my experience than the standard SC2 that mine came with.
  4. Looks like it actually does 0-60 in 6 seconds going frame by frame on the video. As this is the time where the digital speedo actually changes to 60mph. Amazing improvement compared to the stock times, I bet it feels like a completely different car! I'd place money on it doing sub 6 seconds in the right conditions.
  5. Seriously considering a Meteor Grey vRS 230 estate in March when my lease is up. Every time I see one it makes me want one even more!
  6. Not a nice backdrop, but a stunning Chevron B16 I had the pleasure to shoot this week so I had to share it H93A8754 by Alexander Lloyd, on Flickr
  7. I currently have my vRS TDi Estate with DSG, Race Blue paint and 13k miles per year on a 3+23 PCH for £891 Initial Payment and £297 a month. Which I'm rather happy with to be honest. Goes back to Skoda in March so might start looking at vRS 230 prices
  8. A few from yesterday, photos aren't the final versions but they're good enough
  9. I agree, you can tell as soon as you look at the rear of the car and the spoiler that it isn't real as it doesn't blend in at all. It was only a half an hour mess around on my lunch break though so I was rather happy with it!
  10. If this is about the GT-R picture it's a composite image. I took the shot of the GT-R, the background/road is a stock a photo I found online and then the rest is just blending everything together So I suppose the picture was cheating really...
  11. I'd ask for a refund straight away, or if they refuse i'd try and get the money back through whatever payment method you used if possible. I'd suggest having a quick look at Harrison Cameras as I found them to be reasonably priced and I have bought a few second hand lenses from them that come with 1 year warranties and they have been absolutely faultless.
  12. The usefulness bit was in reference to the coasting feature of Eco mode on a DSG. I agree though it is largely useless, even the coasting only really works going downhill!
  13. ECO mode is horrific to use in city driving, only really useful on motorways/dual carriageways and even then the economy difference is tiny if any at all in my experience!
  14. No worries. If you take the Golf R deal I will be very very jealous!
  15. Pretty much! The cars are being financed through VWFS even the ones from the brokers. So your local dealerships sales team should be able to match the figures, if they cant i'd ask to speak to their fleet department who handle the personal contract hires and they should quote the same just minus the admin fee! It's the same method I used for my vRS lease. I got a quote online from a broker, went to my local dealership (Alex Lawrie Skoda in Liverpool) and they matched the deal and threw in metallic paint free as it was better for the resale of the vehicle once I hand it back.
  16. Unbelievable value at the moment. You can get the same price on lease directly from VW therefore saving you the admin fee and in my experience, dealers care a lot more whereas the lease brokers once they've got their fee are hardly interested! Only 7.2ppm excess mileage too.
  17. Send me a PM if you'd like to get some photos done mate
  18. It was only a light hearted comment! I'm open to doing groups if I can organise all the cars on a specific date, but I am also completely open to do individual cars as well! I've sent you a pm mate.
  19. Not exactly in the same boat as a lot of you, but the lease on my vRS TDI Estate ends in March 2017 and I am currently struggling to find any alternatives that give me the best compromise of space, equipment and speed that take my fancy. Without breaking the bank! I'm considering a vRS 230 Estate, although I'm praying that the Golf R Estate deal that came out yesterday on 6+23 at £202 a month with £1800 initial payment can still be around in December, although the chance of that happening is pretty much zero :(
  20. Lovely car. Looking forward to getting some shots of it!
  21. PM'd you all! If anyone else is interested keep me updated
  22. I'm starting to grow rather fond of the vRS in silver the more I see them!
  23. Statistically less chance of something going wrong whilst in Liverpool than doing it in Manchester, lol.
