  1. I have bought this myself but am wondering that if its meant to clean the turbo swell, the Valvoline EGR+turbo, then do you really have to remove the egr from the car to this ?
  2. Hello just wondering instead of water for decarbonising has anyone ever tried steam ? From say a Kärcher Steamer ?
  3. Ok so problem mostly located, I removed the rear windshield wiper fuse and the front works as it should so, that narrows my search down quite a lot , Feeling pleased
  4. Hi and thanks for more advice, so the wipers work in all positions, 3,2 1 and all intermediate, OFF position the relay trips every 1.5 seconds or so or a bit less but very frequent, Down position wipers go on as should , rear wiper work as they should. I have tried the intermediate while off and no notice of the relay slowing, when the Wires burnt the wipers had to tried or just moved on there own a few clicks up and stopped. I pulled the fuse and took it to the garage, rigged the wires I think 2 of them that were burnt directly to the switch. Since then the wipers relay has clicked in the off position, I took of the steering column covers to look at the wiper switch and seems the wires there are a constant colour so they have not been burnt, I was wondering if maybe when they tried to move before the "fix" they have not reset fully ? Engines for me not much of a problem, Electrical well thats a nightmare . I got quoted for a new wiper relay *387 70€ from the skoda official garage here damn, thats expensive. but still don't think its it. Very frustrating
  5. Hello I have had wiper problems and still do in the off position, it's tripping the relay, can hear it clicking all the time when switched off, I have no idea any more what it could be, I had my ignition switch base burn out 2 main wires and after that repair the problem started, SO, to get them to work I need put the fuse in, when I want them off fuse out :(, any ideas on this problem ? relay was tested and swapped out for another same problem.
  6. Hello I have a mk skoda octavia 1.9tdi, brilliant car mainly, got over 600 000km on it and mostly running strong . So I have had the ignition switch 2 of the wires burnt out, which caused the wipers, headlights, signals, most likely horn (Didn't try it) and air blower not to work, Smelt a sweet smell when driving but nothing happened check the car and could not see anything obvious drove the rest of the night, next day drove 300km home stopped to eat, when I came back to the car turned it on I noticed the above was not working, so I drove it home. Found the next day after freezing outside trying to figure it out in the dark. I bought a new ignition switch but the 2 burnt wires made me stop, I am not an electrician so I was pretty much forced to take it to the garage :( I can handle most things on my own SO had to admit defeat.:/ The garage did the fix myself and great friend mentioned to each other by connecting straight to the switch. Everything works now EXCEPT the wipers, they work in position 1 and 2 but when turned off I can hear a clicking noise and you can feel it in the wiper arm on the drivers side. SO Frustrated I do not want to go back to a garage, even though it was cheaper then most still it hurt. So I have to remove the fuse on the wipers otherwise they will be on, bit stupid on a beautiful day or other times when not needed and turned off I don't think the clicking sound is really good and could do more harm. The wires burning I am very thankful the car did not catch fire, after the problem I have heard in VW's this has happened a lot with the ignition switch. I talked to the importer and of course they have never heard of the problem, but the Marked service guys have. I love my car and want to keep her going but sometimes get very frustrated. Hope someone may have an idea. Cheers Jezz
