Hi all, I'm new, be gentle. Here are some shots of my 2020 build Sportline in Velvet Red. Had it a week and a half and loving it. Lux and tech packs and sunroof. It reminded me driving can be fun not just a commute. I do some photography for fun and thought I'd take some shots of the car. Hope you like them.

Looks great. I assume you left the shutter open and walked round the car with a light source of some kind? If so you might want to experiment with popping off a flash or similar inside the car to illuminate the interior too.

  2. ... if the data is to be believed.

I was quite surprised to see the Skoda Connect portal showing 60.1MPG for a recent trip to Northampton.

Not bad for a 4wd, 7-seater automatic (DSG) bus loaded with goodies.

The car has now done just shy of 15,000 miles and the consumption does seem to get better as the engine loosens up.

  3. The replacement for my previous Octavia Scout was delivered to the office last month.

Kodiaq Edition in velvet red, beige leather, 4x4, DSG, 150 diesel, area view, adaptive cruise and Canton sound.

Very much enjoying it so far. I only have an image from my phone but I'll try and take some better shots at some point.

  4. Just a quick update. After 3 years and 35k miles my 2015 Scout 184 DSG has just gone back to the lease company.

Rather boringly I have nothing to report beyond the car never missing a beat for the duration. Average consumption was around 46mpg, the tyres were still fine and everything still worked. No squeaks or rattles presented themselves inside or out and the whole experience just confirmed that Skoda would appear to be the bargain of the VW/Audi group.

I was so impressed that the replacement is another Skoda, this time a Kodiaq Edition 4x4 DSG 150 diesel in velvet red with beige leather and few toys :)

  5. Whats the scout like with the DSG? I have been reading horror stories about hesitations (especially when slowing for a roundabout and then needing some instant power) and of jerkiness when setting off of you apply power too quickly after releasing the brake.

Does the scout have enough 'creep' for hill starts?

    S.

I've done just over 3,000 miles in my DSG Scout and I have no complaints about the car at all. DSG seems to work as advertised with no idiosyncrasies that I have noticed. Even the fuel consumption is improving now the engine has loosened up a bit.

  6.  and they could have fitted Pirelli Scorpion all terrain .tyres as standard instead of Pirelli P7's.

Mine came with Michelin Primacy 3's fitted so it's probably a case of they fit whatever they can get hold of that matches the shipping schedule. Still you can always buy some cheapo s/h VW/Audi wheels on eBay and fit them with Winter or all-terrain tyres if necessary.

  7. Went to see the car today before it was PDI’d, must say theres not a lot of “cappuccino” in it.

    Very silver looking to me.

Will post photos on Tuesday night.

Looks like you ordered the decaf version by mistake  :D looks pretty good to me though as it strikes me as the sort of colour that will hide the dirt well... unlike Race Blue.

I've had mine 1,500 miles now and I'm still very impressed with it. Possibly the only thing I would have changed in hindsight would be to go for the Columbus system over the Amundsen - being of an age where I need reading glasses the bigger screen might have been a better bet.

  8. I've just taken delivery of a new Scout with the Amundsen head unit and was also rather disappointed with the lack of bass, especially when compared to the previous Volvo I had, which in hindsight had an excellent standard system. I would be interested in anyone's experience with adding an after-market sub that doesn't require i) spending a fortune or ii) pulling the car apart unduly - it is a company car.

Other than the lack lustre audio I am extremely pleased with the rest of the car... oh apart from the lack of postcode search on the sat-nav!! It's 2015, how on earth did they manage to build a sat-nav that doesn't support post-code searches!

  9. I'm another Skoda newbie having just taken delivery of a 184 DSG Scout in Race Blue. It replaces a rather tired Volvo V50 Estate that I inherited in my new job. So far I am very happy with the Scout and would probably go as far as to say that I would have been happy to spend my own money on it, which is a first in the history of my company cars! Hope you enjoy the new ride.Sadly I can't offer any insight into the finance side of things as I was just asked, "what car do you want?" and the Scout ticked all the boxes after examining the market for a few months.
