  1. TFY Universal Smartphone & Tablet PC Car Headrest Mount Holder - ... http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00BETZDVW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_udp_api_YW8txb42FN06V These velcro ones seem to work on my vrs seats in that the velcro stretches round horizontally and stays. Note I've not tested it on a long journey yet! Not sure id want to put a heavy tablet on it like a surface on it but your average 7 or 8 inch android should be fine. Edit: There are a few different models. Actual one I bought is here. 2. Haha yeah when people say 'budget' I think of Dacia or ironically the horrible rental spec VW jetta I had the last time my VRS went in for repair!
  3. I definetely feel for the OP here as people buy goods on the description, and also look and feel of the item where they have an oppurtunity to view before purchase. Yes maybe the small print covers them from a legal perspective but if its a noticeable difference you should be informed - mainly because it damages their own brand by leaving dissatisfied customers who feel decieved. I was not particularly upset with Skoda when I didn't have a Sat Nav SD sent to me for three months because I never expected to have sat nav due to viewing MY15 cars, but if they had painted the brake calipers or wheel hubs bright yellow I might have rejected the car on the basis that its not what I expected to recieve. All of this makes me extremely nervous about ordering a factory order ever again if the manufacturer cant be trusted to maintain the unwritten contract of what you see in the showroom versus what you recieve come delivery day. To be honest the shenanigans of changing the standard spec every model year are bad enough!
  4. Thanks guys, Skoda customer service didn't seem to know about the fact that the VRS has mats that match the rest!
  5. Quick question as I have an ongoing saga with Skoda when they didn't supply mats that were meant to come with the VRS model with the car at time of purchase. Can I just check anyone with a UK Spec MY16 VRS - do you have seams on your mats which match the rest of the Upholstery? (Either red or silver)
  6. Sorry to go against the grain here as it is very much personal choice, but just wanted to offer my thoughts against speccing this for a bit of balance as it is a lot of money for a nice to have option IMHO. On the one hand my VRS interior is quite dark without the Sunroof so I wonder wether I should have specced one but having had a Sunroof in other cars they always just annoyed me as there is always a time where glare from the Sun gets just in between the edge of the Sunroof and your seating position, and I end up closing the blind anyway. Plus with small children most of time you are trying to keep glare out of their eyes with window blinds etc. So then basically the only time the blind gets left open is on a cloudy day! (Although I imagine the frosted portion in the Octavia helps with driver glare.) Lastly I always wonder what would happen to the sunroof if you rolled the car in an accident! (Paranoia I know.)
  7. Happens to me too - except rebooting the infotainment while driving makes no difference. Seems to reappear by the next journey. Really annoying when you want to turn the Sub down from Max and can't. I can't tell a sound difference personally.
  8. I asked a skoda technician about this and apparently it can take a while to show if your car is new or has had the battery reconnected as it needs to go through a run cycle
  9. I used to work in this sector five years back and although things might have changed... Back then I seem to remember typically the comparison site received approx. £30 from the insurer for every policy conversion (sale) and something like a quid for every potential lead (customer details) provided to the insurer. So obviously the insurer has started to load the comparison site premium to encourage customers to cut out the middle man.
  10. Has anyone tried these? Bit cheaper than the rear guards. http://shop.automotiva.co.uk/en/bumper-protector/286-skoda-octavia-mk3-estate-rear-bumper-protector-.html
  11. Well mate I had issues with my clutch last week and thought it was just 'bedding in' until a master cylinder issue meant that I had no clutch fluid and gears wouldn't engage after only doing 200 miles. Had to have the car recovered from my drive but could easily have happened on the motorway or somewhere I lot more dangerous. My advise is to take it to the dealer.
  12. Hi Briskodians, Been lurking for a while here just thought I'd share... Had my VRS for all of a few hundred miles when one morning found that the clutch hit the floor and wouldn't come back up. Had to have the car recovered back back to the dealer in the week after the tech came out and refilled the fluid reservoir and it just left a puddle on my drive, literally pouring DOT4 out from around the cylinder!!! Anyone else had this?
