  1. Sorry to hear that but at least you have found a use for it other than scrapping it for peanuts! They were made solely for utilitarian use and never meant to last anyway which is sad because they are very useful vehicles, why vag haven't made a modern equivalent I don't know. Im on my second pickup the first was a multi owner high mileage beater the front end and sills were rotten but the load bed was mint, I only got rid because the engine let go and it was cheaper to buy another. I now have a tidy one owner pickup one year older low mileage but has been welded on the rear turret tops in the past. From some research I see you can still buy the rear panels in Czech but very difficult to get them delivered to the uk. All the best, Graham
  2. Evening all need to replace the front wheel bearing on my pickup soon, anyone know what the correct torque and/or tightening procedure is? Google search has drawn a blank and I haven't got a Haynes manual to hand many thanks Graham
  3. small update on this, tried a few skoda dealers and all drew a blank, no longer available. I have contacted borbet and although they made the wheel it's no longer available and to remake would cost ££££s. im now trying to track down a set either second hand or new in the Czech Republic, will let you know how I get on.
  4. Thanks for the reply Ricardo the part numbers will be very useful in my search, my facelift had the wheels at number six on that list. A quick google search has revealed the Centre cap design changed at some point and the letter A was added to the end of the part numbers to reflect this. Thanks for the link too it appears that although the car is advertised as a GLXi in the brochure looks like just a LXi with the alloys and spotlights on. In later brochures the interior trim changes and it gains color coded mirrors.
  5. Hi if it helps I have 7x15 azevs fitted to mine et 35 with 205/50/15 tyres and the back ones rub the shocks slightly when fully loaded but fine when empty. They are about level with the top of the wheelarch when looking down from above. Any wider than that and your looking at spacers and arch extensions use this site to compare wheel sizes willtheyfit.com Graham
  6. Hi all I am trying to track down set of Felicia GLXi alloys as fitted to the one in the "all change" brochure Can anyone give me some more information such as who manufactured them, part number and the wheel diameter? I think they were 14s but not sure I once had a facelift Lxi with these fitted but not sure if they were the same, they were 13s I think but I remember that the Centre cap was different? Also want extras did the GLXi have over the LX/LXi ?
  7. Hi all, have managed to discover the cause of the problem, the main fuel line had rotted underneath and was leaking in two places. Guess it was bad enough to draw air into the system and stall the engine, I have now repaired the line and it runs fine now. Installed the primer bulb too which makes bleeding so much easier. Glad it was something so simple!!
  8. Hi all, sorry for the long post, I have searched on here for an answer to this problem but can't find a definitive answer, so I will describe the symptoms to see if anyone can point me in the right direction. My skoda 1.9d pickup has run faultlessly for years but yesterday on the way to work (15min drive each way) i felt a slight hesitation under acceleration, didn't think nothing of it till I came up to a junction, dipped the clutch and it died. Luckily the road was clear and I was still rolling slightly so quickly bump started it and carried on although it still had the hesitation. As a test I randomly dipped the clutch and again it cut out, bumped it again and carried on to work, leaving it in a lower gear to give it some revs which seemed to help. Get to work and park up, pickup is running fine now so think maybe its just the cold weather (minus 5 brrr). After work I come out and it fires up on the button and runs for about half a minute but then cuts out again. Try again, fires up straight away but dies after a few seconds. Tried again it fires but dies. Try again and again but now it just turns over and over with nothing. Like it's out of fuel, but it has over half a tank and I recently filled the tank too so it's not like I let it run dry. So what have I done since then? Well I cracked off the injector pipes and tried cranking, no fuel, loosened the bleed nipple above the pump and cranked, no fuel and it seemed dry? Took the fuel line off from the outlet side of the filter and it was dry, no fuel spilled from the filter which I thought was strange? Took the line from the tank off at the back of the filter and it too seemed dry so I blew into it til I could hear it bubbling in the tank (took the cap off while doing this). Then sucked the pipe til the fuel came out so I assume it's not blocked? I have now changed the fuel filter for a new one and filled it via the return line with fresh fuel (old filter didn't seem to have a lot of fuel in it?). I have tried to bleed the air out by connecting a tube to the bleed nipple above the pump. I am drawing fuel through but there's still a few bubbles (does having the ignition on or off make a difference? I had it off). So far this haven't improved anything. I can get it to fire by spraying easy start into the intake but it won't run on its own. Tomorrow I plan to fit a fuel primer bulb to try and bleed the rest of the air out. So that's where I am so far. I am just wondering where to try next with the symptoms I have described really. If it's the case of a new pump I can handle it but I want to be sure it's the pump and not something else. thankyou for taking the time to read this and hope you can help, my pickup has been great up until now so want to get to the bottom of this!!
  9. Hi all looking to replace the lower gearbox mount on my 1.9d Pickup, can only find 1.3 ones online at the moment will it fit? If not will skoda stock the correct mount and if so what is the part number please?? Many thanks Grayham
  10. Thanks for the replies, not sure if it is the immobiliser it was just a guess, only other things it could be are the radio or the Ryder super smart combi charging system I have for the camping pod, could this be the drain? I have fitted a battery switch so the battery doesn't drain when I'm not using it, but there's still times when I go to start and it's flat. Tested the battery with a multimeter, it's at 12.6 volts with the engine off, 14.4 with the engine running and drops to 13.6 with the headlights on, is that correct?
  11. My first Skoda is my pickup which I bought last year but Skodas have been in my family for a long time. My grandad had several Estelles which he used to tune up and race about, I remember me and my sister holding on for dear life in the back seat when we used to stay with my grandparents over the summer holidays. Used to put stones on the rear spoiler/air intake and see how long they'd last before they fell off! My dad used to have crappy second hand cars but in 1994 he bought his first brand new car, a Skoda Favorit GLXie flairline estate in Petrol blue(?). It was like pure luxury compared to what he had before, looked really smart with the alloys spoiler and spotlights, I remember the little immobliser key on the dash, space age!! My dad kept the boot torch and charger when he p/x'd it later on. Still has it. I passed my test in 2001 and the first car I drove was my mums 1999 Facelift Felicia LXi hatch in dark green, had optional alloys and front spot lights. I remember many fun times at the local cruise doing handbrake turns and burnouts thought I was the best driver ever! Then mum stopped me from using it because I wore the brakes and tyres out too often so I had to settle for a mini! My parents went on to buy Fabias, one hatch for mum and an estate for dad in matching blue, think they had the 1.4 8v and they were slow but had aircon which was luxury!! Then my dad bought a later Fabia estate with the 1.4 16v which he still has.
  12. Hi all, my 1.9 Felicia pickup needs a new battery, I was just wondering if anyone recommends a different battery to the standard one as a upgrade if that makes sense? Problem I have is the pickup is parked most of the week at work and I guess the immobilizer drains the battery combined with the lack of use and it has killed the old battery.
  13. Hi thanks for the replies I had a closer look today and it does seem to be the little pipes at the top that are leaking, they look like braided cloth ones? Any idea what size inner outer diameter these will be? Many thanks Gray
  14. Hi all I have a Felicia a pickup with the 1.9d engine, recentley got it back on the road after sitting for over a year. Runs fine but one of the injectors appears to leaking from the body, either where it's screwed together or where it screws into the head. My questions are can it be removed, stripped down and seals replaced or is it time for a whole new injector? If it can be repaired is it a diy job or do I need a professional to sort it? Is there a seal kit available? Many thanks Grayham
