  1. Having left the Skoda flock, I'm now in a vw Cc and I'm having the same issue with the lack of the TMC feature. No traffic updates when I press the traffic button. I have a few friends with VAG based cars, and they are in the same boat with no dynamic routing. It's become a real pain in the backside for me as I do travel around the country. I'm watching this thread eagerly and I may have to get my old Tom Tom off the wife just to route around traffic.
  2. Yeah, it's got xenons, thanks for the heads up. Don't suppose you know where in VCDS the setting is do you?
  3. I've recently changed my suspension back to standard ride height from the lowered springs. I believe (could be wrong) that the suspension was lowered by the dealers with the Eibach spring upgrade. Now that I'm back to standard height my headlamps are way too low and need to be adjusted. So a couple of options have entered my mind with someone giving me a curve ball to think about (option 3) Options. 1, manually adjust the headlamps the old fashioned way by turning a few screws. 2, the bar on the ride height sensor needs to be reset. 3, adjustment needs to be reset by VCDS. So my question is, which route do I need to take 1,2 or 3? Thanks in advance.
  4. The AA also offer a mobile locksmith service.
  5. Do those badges fit the pre facelift vrs? If they do I'll have them.
  6. Cars due for a service again in a few thousand miles. So I'm going to look at changing the gearbox oil. Can anyone help identify which gearbox oil I need? 2008 octavia VRS. PD engine Manual gearbox Thanks in advance. P.s anyone know where the drain and fill plugs are also?
  7. Nip into TPS and they cost about £1 each or less.
  8. Has anyone used Midland Alloy Wheel Refurbishment & Tyre Specialists Ltd Unit 11 Premier Trading Estate Birmingham B7 4AT They have a 35% discount offer on at the mo, but are they any good? Has anyone here used them?
  9. I know. I'd have a few extra ponies mapped into it while in there.
  10. The delete pipe has a canister on it so it looks like it's got one fitted. The delete pipe even has the holes for the sensors. So visually it's no different to the standard one fitted from factory.
  11. At the moment it's visual inspection only. Having a semi friendly MOT inspector helps.
  12. Im not planning on changing it every time there's an MOT. That would just be plain crackers! I want to keep the original just incase the rules change and there is some sort of additional test that crops up in the future that's not in place now. If a test does ever come along then I'll still have my original DPF, saving the added cost of buying a new one.
  13. Im considering having the DPF removed. As I understand it there are 2 options 1. Remove and replace with a delete pipe 2. Remove the internals. I'd prefer to go with option 1 just so I've got the original just incase I need it for a MOT. You never know what tests may come in the future. Having looked around Milltek seems a common one but the cost is a tad high at around £300 - £350 for a section of pipe. So what other alternatives are around for a delete pipe and costs? Also is it the same pipe for the PD and CR engines? I have the PD engine. *edited due to auto correct making DPF into DOG*
  14. I have a 16inch spare and tools etc for an octavia if you need one.
  15. A leaking pressure sensor is where my air con problems were. The local aircon specialist stated that it was a common problem with either the switch leaking or just been faulty. Change the switch and get it regassed. You will probably need some crows foot spanners to get the old one off.
  16. Get on the motorway and sit behind a lorry (56mph) keep the revs fairly low and have a nice long drive. The car does need to be up to running temperature beforehand. For me it's the m5 oldbury junction to frankley services and the light goes out. My advice is drive it further and let the measurements drop further. Some on here have removed the dpf and mapped it out. Have the revs gone up to about 2000 rpm on tickover?
  17. Thanks. Just ordered it. P.s, add a note for the courier, leave with neighbour if no reply. Thanks again.
  18. I believe the high pressure switch / sensor on the air con system has something to do with the fans. Could be a knackered switch/sensor.
  19. I could be wrong but looking on eBay, these could be the ones. 16mm and 22mm http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191069924741 And http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/371795005561 I could be wrong but pop the trim off and have a look. From what I can remember the bigger clips sit around the outside. The clips did slide around and occasionally slide out of the boot panel, I bent the ends up so they didn't fall out.
  20. Are you talking about the big plastic panel on the inside of the boot lid? If so there are 2 sixes. Brought some a year or ago off eBay.
  21. Are you talking about the high pressure switch which is at the front of the car?
  22. I have no idea about the values above but I've recently had an issue that I've now fixed with the air con. My high pressure switch was faulty plus it was leaking. Had a regass at Kwik Fit and found the leak was at the switch. Plus scanning the car found the switch was also faulty. Changed switch and had the car gassed again and it nice and cold.in the car now. When I switch between aircon bot off and on I don't notice any change in revs. Chatting to an aircon specialist a few weeks back he suggested the revs wouldn't change. He did say something about having to clear the fault codes after the switch is replaced or it won't kick in. Are there any faults coming up for the pressure switch?
