  1. What do you mean by forced? I will sometimes reboot the system by holding the power button down for around 13s to get it to pick up the internet connection (have mentioned this on an old thread). But this is like the system just decides to reboot all by itself mid journey.
  2. I've noticed increasingly that the infotainment system in my 2018 Karoq will just randomly restart. This is particularly frustrating when using the sat nav, for obvious reasons. Today I made two 90min journeys and I would say about 60mins into both journeys the restart happened. Any ideas what might be causing this? I'm on software version 480.
  3. Yeah, watched a video on it just now and it seems to match the sound I'm getting. Good to know it's probably nothing to do with the gearbox.
  4. Taking the car into an independent garage on Wed, will report back. New symptom developed a week ago - a metallic scraping sound while the car is moving. Almost sounds like I am dragging a tin can along the ground, but there's nothing I can see underneath that would cause the sound. Concerned it may be related, but equally could be something completely unrelated.
  5. Looks like MIB2 update is published now - currently downloading ECE 1 2026.2 (CW 6/2026) from the Skoda update portal...
  6. For obvious reasons I don't think there is an official way to do this.
  7. Thanks I will consider getting that done at some point. Planning to switch from main dealer servicing to an independent VW specialist this year as the main dealer cost is just getting ridiculous and I can no longer justify it for the age of the car. Perhaps they will have more insight.
  8. I have been getting this symptom sometimes on my 2018 1.5 TSI DSG (46k). Specifically, when on auto hold uphill or on an upwards ramp and I go back on the gas, the car will shudder a bit. I mentioned it going into the last main dealer service and they said they couldn't find anything wrong, just the auto box trying to find the right gear/power to move up the hill. Haven't really thought much of it since.
  9. Did not know that - will give it a try, thanks!
  10. Maybe I'm not getting it, but don't you want the dashcam to have the power cut when you switch the car off and leave it? Parking mode runs on the dashcam battery, and it gets re-charged next time you drive it. That's how I use mine anyway. The battery deteriorated after about six years and I contacted Nextbase who kindly replaced it with a new battery for a reasonable fee.
  11. I never disable mine - I actually don't mind saving a bit of fuel - and it rarely comes into use on short journeys. Longer journeys it will generally work, which I assume is something to do with the charge level of the battery? I have experienced it turn off the engine as I coast very slowly to a halt. I can't say it bothers me - sometimes it's right on the money, other times I don't want it to turn off so I lightly tap the gas and it starts back up again.
  12. I got my copy from the Skoda Connect map update site, so i am used to there being a long lag between releases, typically six months it seems. This time was much less than that.
  13. It seems like this was released not long after 2410 (also 202525, which I always assumed meant 25th week of 2025). Is it normal to have two releases in quick succession like this? Perhaps fixing some significant quality issue?
  14. Update on this issue from me - traffic data has been pulling in very quickly after starting the car again now. I would say within around 30 seconds I will start seeing traffic flow data (the green/amber/red roads), and then after 1-2 minutes it will start to pull in the traffic incident data too (the symbols on the map like closed roads, accidents, etc.). May take a few mins to fully populate with incidents, but that's fine. On the downside, there are occasions where the data connection just doesn't start at all. The red globe will remain present and no data is received. I remedy this by unplugging and replugging in the CarStick, and if that doesn't work I restart the Infotainment system (hold the power button for ~13 secs causes it to restart). This seems to happen around 1 in 10 times of using the car.
  15. I've recently experienced a return of traffic data issues via Skoda Connect. I tested with different data connections (e.g. change SIM card, tether to mobile hotspot, etc.) and these made no difference so I strongly suspect this is an issue on Skoda's side. For a couple of days it wasn't even registering that there was a data connection (even though there was) - all I got was the red globe icon and no traffic data. After a lot of faffing, including resetting to factory settings, and de-registering and re-registering the vehicle with Skoda Connect, it started recognising the data connection again. However, it was still not pulling in traffic data. It's now in a state where it seems to register the data connection, and pull in traffic flow data (i.e. the traffic speeds on all the roads) within about 1-2mins, but it's taking waaaaay longer to load in traffic events, i.e. road closures, roadworks, etc. I would say a good 5-10 minutes into the journey. Is anyone else experiencing issues with Skoda Connect traffic data lately? I did wonder if it was anything to do with the 2G/3G sunset (https://www.skoda-auto.com/connectivity/2g-3g-sunset), but I'm using the Skoda CarStick LTE (4G) so don't see how that could be an issue. In any case, the affected models table seems to suggest that Infotainment should still function for my 2018 Karoq.
