  1. Just back from its MOT. passed with flying colours, no advisories! Trouble free motoring, ready to go!
  2. Car now has 4 new Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 tyres, MOT booked for 5th March, and private plate has been removed
  3. Car now for sale. See the for sale section.
  4. Hi Guys, I needed 7 seats, so i've just bought a Kodiaq and unfortunately my beloved Superb has to go. The car is well known on the forum, see Damo's thread - And my (far less comprehensive) thread - The car has now done 65k miles - Full Main dealer Service history (last serviced December) - MOT due on 5th March, but I will be getting this done, along with 4 new tyres (Eagle F1 or equivalent) I think that everything you need to know about the car will be listed in the above 2 threads. Alloys have some kerbing, but otherwise this is still a mint, well loved and cherished car. If I hadn't needed 7 seats I don't think I would have been letting it go. I'm looking for £9k, but happy to listen to sensible offers. Located in NW England (Cumbria) Any questions feel free to ask. Cheers.
  5. Thanks mate, shes definitely been well cared for! Modified centre caps are holding up really well, they haven't started peeling off or degrading or anything. Given that it was just a cheap mod using some stick on overlays I'm pretty pleased, it wouldn't any chore to do it again either, so even if they didn't last very long I doubt it would bother me too much. DTM splitter really sets the car off, but with the long overhang on the superb from the front wheels to the front of the bumper and withe lowering it does catch....alot. Got to be quite careful about where you go, speed bumps still aren't really an issue, but inclines/declines are. So multistorey car parks are pretty much out! Ha! I think ever superb needs to be at least lowered though as they sit on stilts when they're standard. As for its new friend, the Supra. It turned out OK....still got the car but its been off the road since summer while I carry out some work. There were quite a few dodgy bits that needed tidied up, plus there is an endless amount of tuning possibility. WIll hopefully be bringing her back out around April/May looking much tidier with another 100bhp or so... Heres a pic of it out and about before it got consigned to my garage.
  6. Cheers for the advice guys. I realised after I posted that the gearbox oil was just a replenish. It's booked in for Tuesday for major service with dsg oil and no filter change. Going back in the start of the new year for the cambelt
  7. Hi guys, Just a couple of general questions about Superb II servicing. My CR170 tdi has turned 4 years old, has covered 54k and is due a service. My local Skoda dealership has fixed price servicing. My first question is; If I were to book in for a full/major service it states that gearbox oil is changed (where applicable). So does that mean that Skoda will change my DSG oil and filter as part of the service or do I need to pay the extra for that? Second question is re the cambelt...I have read that it needs changed at 4 years or 120,000 miles. What do people recommend, my car is at 4 years, but no where near the mileage...Is it worthwhile me getting this done? I'm all for correct and thorough car maintenance and normally wouldn't think twice about getting all this done, but right before Christmas I could do without a near £1k service bill. I appreciate that it would be easier to contact the dealer for answers to these questions, but I won't really be able to do that until after the weekend due to work, so any advice on here first would be appreciated. Cheers!
  8. Well this is just making me more and more tempted to go talk to my local dealer about buying a 280.
  9. Yet again it's been ages since I updated this, or even came on the forum really. Sorry! So here's a couple of small updates and pics. The alloys were starting to look a little tired, lacquer was peeling all over the place and bringing down the overall look of the car. Further inspection seemed to show that they had a fairly substandard refurb at some point in there life. So off they went for a proper job done! The alloys were originally a flat silver. I decided that I wanted to add a bit of bling to them, so they got a fair amount of metal flake added in to the paint for the refurb (hard to pic, but i've tried). I think that this complements the fleck in the Black Magic paint better and looks awesome in the sunlight. Once the alloys were refurbed I polished and protected them with a couple of coats of Very Berry from Autobrite. After the refurb, I noticed that the original Axe Design centre caps were looking shoddy as hell...Obviously I couldn't get Skoda replacements for them, as they aren't Skoda Wheels. But I decided that I would have a shot at modifying them rather than try and source replacement Axe ones. Managed to find some overlays on Ebay in the right size with the updated Skoda logo to match the rest of the car. I stripped the axe logo's off the centre caps - Took a knife, nail polish remove, lots of swearing and a sliced thumb, but I got there. Can see in the above pic that one is already stripped. Applied the new overlays and job done!! Gives the wheels an OEM look, which I love. Anway, thats all for the updates to the car. Still love it, takes whatever I can throw at it, looks amazing, shifts pretty well and even handles great given its size and weight. So here's a few more pics. Used her for my wedding day, here she is all tarted up outside the church! Here she is after going out for a play up Hartside with a friends Boxster... And here are a few pics I took up HardKnott the other day...
  10. I'm all leg. So I find that good steering rake/adjustment is key. I'm older or low cars I tend to end up with the seat so far back that my arms are a little too outstretched.
  11. before I even looked at this thread I had moonlight sonata going through my head just from the title! Hauntingly beautiful piece of music! One of my all time favourites!
  12. 6'4" and a bit with a Skoda Superb and no complaints. First car i've ever been in/owned where I can comfortably fit in the back behind my own drivers position.
  13. I think this is a definite must see. I cracked right up the first time I seen the trailer.
