I just bought a new Karoq SEL, having previously had Roomster for the last 5 years. It's quite an upgrade, although it has the same Varioflex seats! I'm happy with car and all it does, but one thing that has confused the hell out of me is what Skoda Connect services I have access to and how it all works. I downloaded the Connect app to my iPhone expecting to be able to use it to 'connect' to my car to see various driving data and turn on/off certain settings. After several re-installs and lots of head-scratching and calls to the dealer and customer services, it turns out all I can actually do with my Brand new mid-spec car is send a postcode to the Satnav. Why would I even bother wanting to do that?? Apparently if you want to use all of these features you have to spec the car like that from scratch. MY car was already built when I ordered it and non one mentioned any of this to me.
I'm not all that bothered that I can't do all of these fancy things, but what I am bothered about is the miss-leading marketing and lack of awareness of Skoda staff about how Connect works and which cars can use it's various features. I've suggested that they provide a Connect pack with each car that specifies exactly which services are available on the particular build. This might just save other poor unfortunates from hours of tech frustration.
