Uniroyal Rainsport 3 are what I have on my Polo GTI 1.4. Great tyre and lasted awhile. Good if you only do short journeys like I do.

Thanks Kobayash, the forge one looks good. The second one, does it have the breather pipe connection as well?
-
Thanks for the info. Would those mods affect the pipe with the breather mod?

Looking at upgrading the intake on my GTI and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the 57S? https://www.knfilters.co.uk/search/product.aspx?prod=57S-9505 Also, I have had the oil consumption fixes done so would this affect any of the exsiting piping? Im mainly worried about the little breather pipe going from the intake hose.

Rang VW. They confirmed it is a timing chain. I asked why their website gives you the option to buy a replacement cambelt and they said the booking page apparently "doesn't know" if a car has a belt or chain. To me that is utter nonsense but nevermind

Apologies, my engine is the 1.4 TSI Twin charger CAVE. If it's a chain why does VW offer a clutch? Unless it's the super charger magnetic one you mentioned above?

Hi all, My Polo GTI is now 6 years old with just over 35k on the clock and with some cars 6 years is about the time you would consider changing the cambelt. After doing some searching on both the VW website, briskoda, google, etc, I am a bit confused as to whether or not the car has a cambelt or chain? If I put my reg into the VW service booking page it offers me a price for a cambelt change: But most other places say it has a timing change which doesn't need replacing. Can someone shed some light on this as you would think VW would be correct?

The sad thing is if this whole diesel tax does come into affect or they have some sort of ban is the old vehicles will be taken of the road. Hopefully they will change there mind. After reading some of the posts, I understand that the diesel VRS may not be the best choice but after doing a search on auto trader, the closest TSI model to me is over 98 miles away, slighlty cheaper and doesn't have the same kit. Too many people bought the diesel model

I see, thanks for confirming. Note for mods: Noticed I made a typo in the thread name due to auto correct on my mobile. Could someone change CARS to VRS? Thanks.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I am looking and possibly test driving one Sunday. If a cambelt and water pump change is advisable then I will budget for it. I'd rather know it's new and have another 5 years of piece of mind. In regards to this "white worm", any examples you could show me? Never heard of this before.

Hi all, I am looking at a 2014 vrs estate with 78k on the clock with loads of toys and in good condition. It is the manual version and I was wondering what mileage does the clutch and cambelt (if it has one) need to be replaced? Will I also need to consider the DPF at some point?

Front Bumper - Rubber Strip Underneath?
Xeon5 replied to Xeon5's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Well i had a look at the front spoiler bumper today and it is beyond repair so have taken it off. Managed to get the part number 6r0805903c from the bumper but its quite difficult to get in the UK so will have to order from germany. Would it be worth replacing it with something else like a splitter?
