  1. I think it will be a flow valve. I had a new matrix fitted to mine at 2 years old. No change. The dealer was useless. Skoda said to change it. It ended up being a flow valve!
  2. Phone call from Skoda today. It could be the thermostat or the water pump. They said the gasket had a small nick in it, they won’t know till they take them apart! Skoda are now covering 70% of parts and 50% labour. I thought it must be common for them to cover some of the costs with no arguing esp as they did not do the last Service. The dealer has go ahead from Skoda and will have the parts for every outcome in the morning. Fingers crossed it’s fixed tomorrow.
  3. Joy of joys. My octavia 17 vrs petrol is leaking coolant. Temp stays ok. Skoda had it in 6 weeks ago saying that the thermostat was loose and leaking. They tightened it up free of charge saying they have seen a few of these recently! Roll forward 6 weeks and it’s still leaking. They are saying it could be the gasket/seal between the thermostat and water pump or the water pump itself. They won’t know until they get it apart. 6 hour job! Price ranging from £600 to just over £1000! I have asked skoda for a contribution as they had the whole system apart for a heating issue when the car was 2 year old. New matrix etc. Doubt I will get anywhere. Is this a common fault for the petrol version?
  4. Just had a call from Skoda. They are talking to the dealer to see what they can offer as a discount if any for a re skin.... Waiting for a call back on Tuesday. The warrantee period is 6 months/6000 miles for a seat. I have had a price for a new skin from Houghtons skoda at £466. Fitting extra @ 2 1/2 hours. None in stock at the moment and could be at least 2 months till they are available
  5. I have just checked, It’s not the seat belt. That’s much lower. If it is wear and it’s not covered I will suck it up, but I have never had an issue before with my past cars. The skoda case manager was busy today when I phoned up. Waiting for a call back. Finding someone to fix it has been an issue so far. We have a local Car re trimmers who won’t touch it as there an airbag in the seat and their machines are not certified for airbags! They will re skin the seat if I am able to get a new seat cover. ( not had that chat with skoda yet) Still waiting for one more company to get back to me. Thank you for all for your input so far.
  6. That sounds possible. I will have a look tomorrow to see if it’s in the right place. Still a bit ****ed it’s happened thou. I am waiting for a company to get back to me about fixing it. And skoda Uk have phoned me up but I was unavailable so I will call them tomorrow afternoon.
  7. Thanks ecomatt. I have sent off an email with some photos. Raising a complaint. Think you are right. Our 64 reg superb seats are made of a far higher quality leather.
  8. Has anyone had trouble with their seat bolster leather splitting/wearing? Mine has been refused warranty today saying it’s war and tear? The car is under 3 years old and 30000 miles. The dealer said they have seen 3 or 4 recently and they have all been refused warranty
  9. It turned out it was a faulty flow valve in the end.
  10. Skoda technical have said to change the matrix for a new one. That did not work. They are looking at the water pump on Monday after taking the hoses off the new matrix with the car running. No water was going into the matrix. Surprised they did not try that before flushing out the matrix the first time. Be glad when it’s back in my hands and working.
  11. After 2 days of flushing the matrix at the dealership they have asked Skoda technical for advice again. The matrix is working fine they are now saying but have no idea what is causing the issue of very little and inconsistent heat.
  12. Car went in yesterday for heating issues. It was blowing cold air even on high. Turns out the heater matrix is blocked and needs flushing out. Its a 5 hour job to do. The car is 18 months old FL Vrs and 19000 miles.. What would have caused this? I have never had a car with a blocked heater matrix in 30 years of car ownership.
  13. Is is possible to just replace the front grill on FL mk3? I remember reading somewhere that it is sold with the bumper as one? I hope this is not the case as mine broke today when a large stone hit it at speed.
  14. Does anyone now of any heating issues with the Mk3 octavia ? My FL Vrs only seems to get luke warm atm. Service receptionist in the car with me today with the system on Hi. car temps on 90c water temp and oil at 100c The air coming out of the vents was warm but not hot. AC was on. I drove home with the system on 29c, It was not hot at all. Its being looked at next week.
  15. Thanks, thats a lot cheaper than i thought it would be, A refurb is half that with no guarantees
