  1. I’ve had a mk2 since 2005 now with 170000 miles on the clock, good car. I also have a mk3 2019. Different car more refined better in many ways but more electronics just seems better put together and more refined. Mk3 for me
  2. Doubtful that these will fit due to seat post height with back wheel still in place. I put my road bike flat on the floor with wheels still in place. I have a large sheet of 25mm thick rubber which will cover the boot area, then a second bike can go on top of the other. It works but I don’t do it often. I use a tow ball rack for MTB or road bike if I need the boot.
  3. Talk to an Auto Electrician and discuss the options. I have a Smart Fortwo with a bike rack and the electrics are fed from inside the boot, it’s the official kit and connects with a small connector approx 15mm dia the cable then just sits through the boot gap through the rubber out to the bike rack. as said before you need someone who understands the canbus system so that it still functions. 4. Skoda dealers charge £39 for MOT can’t see £200 value for that. if you wait until Black Friday time you may find that there’s a discounted rate 30% off maybe. I’m paying £12 per month for 3 years service plus mot. only covers routine service not the air con services
  5. Googled the part number and this post came up. Sorted cable release also stopped working it had come out of the housing, fixed. odd thing is that when I looked at the other seat to see how the cable worked it did not have a cover so I didn’t put 2 and 2 together.
  6. Well know up North that you don’t buy used cars from Keighley. most forums have some tales regarding this seller. im 25 miles away and I think I would travel to Plymouth rather than risk from them. very intimidating atmosphere at the garage so I’m told. they do have some exotics but I don’t know anyone who has bought from them. I think there’s a “wedding” hire business this car could be the exception but do you want the risk?
  7. I have Motorola with dual sim. i struggled with this as it would only pick up one SIM. Then I realised that using the handset you have to select which SIM to use and the car was not showing that stage. So in the end I allocated a SIM to each number and now it just calls using the chosen SIM automatically
  8. No nothing in the manual in my mkii its in the boot and service book
  9. I’m in the same boat. no sticker in the boot no service book 2019 model April I wanted to check the options fitted but not possible
  10. It’s In two parts a rigid piece that fits the hole and a bendy piece with Velcro on the bottom to stick to the boot carpet
  11. That’s what slots in there when there not in use
  12. You should have some of these the fit in the space and stop things sliding around in the boot http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/OCTAVIA-III/Octavia-III-practical-cargo-flexible-element-original-Skoda-Autoas
  13. After a long time and many dead ends mine was wheel bearings and suspension The main dealer sorted it.
  14. The mkiii bars have two locating pins and they fix on by pulling a lever down Then the plastic caps fasten over the mechanism. on the foot there’s a plastic washer that fits over the pins stopping the clamp from bottoming against the body work, the foot locates on the high point of the roof. these details are not on the Mkii rack which has to be fixed by torquing up Allen bolts on each foot with only one pin for location. IMHO the mkiii is better designed and I’ve always thought they were made by Thule anyway.
  15. Not sure if this works but with a obd dongle (£5 ebay) and Skoda lite app the journey information is recorded in the app
