  1. I tried Skoda DK but they where just arrogant, as usually. I don't thing that any car user organisation will stand up against VW her in EU they will miss all the advertisement money they get. But it's funny to see that in USA VW has to call back all cars affected since 2010 and do it for free and in EU we pay highly to get it repaired so actually we pay for the job in USA, that's quite smart of VW.
  2. Problem solved only £40, I bought the switch from a friend "mechanic" and it tog me a half hour to mount on top of the DSG gear shift very easy so the only thing you need is 5Q0-713-128-A, some tools and how to put it in. RCRIT-19V615-0044.pdf
  3. Hi Here in DK you can't get VW/Skoda to contribute with anything it very expencive and bad service I'm afrade, my car is 4,5 years old so I have to find a way to get it fixed. I have 1,5 year to get it fixed before MOT, lol.. If anyone has the information about this switch or an exploded view of the gearshift it would be great, just knowing where the bugger is placed would be great.
  4. Hi Anyone with a wiring diagram of the wires to the gearshift module. I can finde a manual on the internet but there is no wiring. It must be possible to solve this problem in another way then paing £1000 for getting a £5 switch changed, this is realy bad service from VW. It must be possible to bypass the faulty switch with a good one on top of the shifter. If it is possible to get the right wires this problem could be solved for £10 max.
  5. Read your experience with the first 15 min, this is normal due to the temperature of your speakers, when you have driven for 15 min the car is normally wormed up in the cabin and the bass speakers will work normally. I live in DK and we have had some cold mornings and about the first 5 to 10 minutes the sound is very tame. In my car before "Mazda 6" I had put in a pair of Infinity speakers and this was the same problem. I don’t think it is an issue just with Octavia. Still as I wrote some time ago, change the caps in the treble speakers and it sounds quite OK.
  6. Hi Got a 1.4 DSG hatchback in May and I have driven 8000 km. I came from a "Mazda 6 de" with lots of problems and I am very impressed. I just been on holyday in Italy and drove 4000 km through Europe. It was perfect, lots of power no engine noise and the DSG was perfect. Driving around Italy I got 20 km/l and that's much for a petrol car of that size. I am very pleased with it. Downside: The roades in DK are not very good so the road noise can get a bit to much. As soon I got to Germany and down there was no noise at all. So if the roads are noisy in UK it could be an issue.
  7. Sorry !, but what have you expected from cheap crappy plastic speakers, it is impossible to get good sound out of that no matter how many money you have paid extra for the car. If you want good sound you have to take the doors apart and cover the door inside with stp or Dynamat Xtreme and then buy some proper speakers. You can fiddle around with the original speakers but you will never get them to sound good. I have had cars with Bose and that did not sound good. The best way to get good sound in the car is by doing it your self. Sorry.... To get better sound in the Octavia just change the caps in the tweets. When I write better it far from perfect but very usable.
  8. They are on the back of the tweets 6u8 cap. You have to solder the 6u8 off and solder the 3u3 on instead. Make sure that you buy a bipolar cap. "3u3 BP. 25 -50 volt"
  9. No problem I found the workshop manual. So issue soved..
  10. I just bought a new Octavia mk3 with a Bolero and the sound is terrible, problem is the crossover frequency for the tweets is far to low so I pulled of the door trim and changed the capacitors in the tweets to 3u3 BP. The original are 6u8 far to big. Now it sounds nice and soft with only high treble. A lot of work just for changing a few caps but it was defiantly worth it. I only had 2 so soon the back speakers are getting the same. Price about £1 time 2 hours.
  11. Hi I want to put some proper speakers into the doors but I can't find any instructions on how to take off the door skin (trim). Has anyone tried this and maybe have some pictures. Thanks !
